I have all 3 colors now and I must say if your not using the mosfet board on these your not getting the optimal performance at all. Everything increases like DPS, FPS also adds select fire. Way more fun to play with. Worthy of being a primary performance. Great review as always 👍🏾
Personally I like it but I already own 2 of the 1.0 versions. For the games we had it was all CQB and even the fields were less than 20 square meters. My normal play was center field, burst fire suppression. Even at the 145ish FPS in a 220 cap game it did exactly what I wanted.
Our group has indoor cqb battles in a community centre gymnasium. 200 fps limit but 170 fps is ideal. I've been hit in the neck at close range at around 170 fps and it was painful. This blaster is good for those close engagements. Nobody can bitch too hard about getting sprayed point blank at 140 or so fps.
Yeah after I saw the internal pics and saw it was the same flywheel cage & motors I was less enthusiastic. It’s a really nice shell update but if I am hiding out bush I have to announce my presence every time I fire then I want a lot more range for 6 freaking flywheels. It’d fun for indoor CQB.
In that kind of environment where there's blasters that shoot twice the distance with much greater accuracy, flywheel blasters like this would definitely achieve not much more than asking the opponents to shoot you.
Thanks for your fantastic in-depth review, including the question of stabilizing flywheeler accuracy via BCAR! 👍 In fact, I see the use case for the Worker Phoenix 2.0 in CQB Battles, like I do them with my son's friends. If your average distance is below 10m an you don't have the space to sneak around corners with your much longer springer, spraying can be a solution. 😁 And honestly: while playing in-house below 10 m distance, I wouldn't dare using a 300 fps springer. It's not fun anymore, when the kids get bruises by a foam dart hitting them. So this could be a side arm or backup. While being outside or shooting larger distances, you use the 300 fps springer. But converting into CQB / in house situations, you can switch to the Worker Phoenix 2.0 (or the much more compact two-wheeled Worker Nightingale).
from the look of it your bearing scar is overkill for 140 fps, reduce the twist rate and you should see better performance. anything below 200 should be fine with 5 degree of twist.
The 2.0 without the fire control board seems like a non - improvement over the original. Basically the same performance in all aspects, it's just that the 2.0 comes with a stock and isn't clear.
This thing gives me a daft idea I’m not yet qualified or ready to act on. An oversized stormtrooper rifle body kit would be fun on this. The chibbiness wouldn’t bother me. Expanding the battery box is an appealing prospect meanwhile. Cutting the side out, say, and gluing an expanded cover on.
They're very reusable so yeah pick them up. At a Nerf event usually everyone spends 15mins or so end of the day picking them up but here at the gel ball field the owner picks up ones he sees while doing field maintenance.
@Bradley Phillips maybe they should make a special robot that does it for you haha. Nerf events look great, I just couldn't be bothered picking up all the ammo at the end, too lazy 😎
@@BradleyPhillipsYT So is Colonel Wasp's Firefly. The Singapore Nerf community even had to court politicians to avoid a potential ban on 3D printed blasters.
@@maxhardy123 Sad to hear that. (China hasn’t got a better environment lmao) I’m trying to change phoenix 2.0 motor and add fire control to 1.0. If it has a better performance. I will be happy to share more information with u
Nice video Bradley ,,over here the limit is 350 and NO minimum engagement distance which makes " these " ideal ,for "soft 'fps mag dumps at close range
Technically in NSW they could charge you for even these. Lawyers in penrith actually have this showing nerfs are also illegal penrithlawyers blog for reference. Its pretty ridiculous to think they could charge for these (cf 1989 Act s 3, 1990 Reg cl 3) (1) In this Act-- "acquire" means accept or receive supply of. "air gun" means a gun that-- (a) can propel, or is designed to propel, a projectile-- (i) by means of any gas or mixture of gases, including air but not including a gas or mixture of gases generated by an explosive, or (ii) by means of a spring, and (b) is operated or designed for operation by means of a trigger or similar device.
Solid review. I recall you used to play Nerf sometimes in a theater or auditorium (perhaps at a university?) and I wonder if this blaster would have a place for you at that sort of a setting? I realize you may not do that anymore. But still I'd say there are better options for less money and less battery requirement.
As someone who just bought a Swift and slightly turned the metal on plastic screws too tight and cracked the plastic I wish they had done this on their products earlier 😥
I put one in my 1.0 running Krakens into Fang RVs on 3S. Getting solid 200s. With this set up the group size dropped to about 30 inches at 100 feet. I also replaced the pusher motor with a Kraken which bumped rate of fire up to 12ish rounds/second with enough torque to prevent runaway. Much more war-useable now.
Awesome review. Has anyone asked worker why they love 3 stage so much? From what I can tell, everyone hates worker's 3 stage flywheel setup since it under performs for the amount of power it sucks up, so why is worker so adamant about it. Is it something to do with their laws in China or something?
lots of weird choices. the forrip not folding the iron being blocked by rails and I'm not even left-handed but why would you not make it amby at this point
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I just got the workout swift in the blue well it’s actually purple and love it. I was thinking of waiting for the select fire version of the phoenix 2.0 as I really want one. I’ll use it as a secondary for closer contact and the swift for long range.
@@BradleyPhillipsYT I also chose the red worker darts as you recommended them in your videos. Only problem is being colour blind they are hard to find as I get greens and reds mixed up 😂🤷🏻♀️
@@viciousviolet3783 for myself personally with full colour vision the red is definitely easier to see both on the ground and see it hitting the target in the video. Probably my favourite dart available currently. I used to use my FDL-3 as a sidearm but eventually stopped using it because I prefer to run a light loadout.
Since worker is a Chinese company, they will never make a 300 fps blaster - at least not stock, because of the prohibition. 150 is a quite reasonablly number due to the red line that is about 225. For me, phoenix is a great blaster using in a foam dart only game to spray darts on other players' face. lol
Based on the review, I ordered this. Worker has not shipped it, admits they have not shipped it and offered to cancel rather than ship it. This is terrible customer service. If others experience this, it's important to let people know that Worker is not delivering merchandise reliably. I was not warned about this, I had to track shipping three weeks after the order. In other words, Worker will keep your money and send you nothing unless you monitor every part of the transaction. This is disturbing.
I think the issue is with spring blasters you still have air pushing on the dart. With flywheel all the energy is imparted at the flywheels. Plus a flywheel blaster isn't going to shoot the dart as straight into the scar barrel as a springer does.
