Huge thank you to Anna for chatting to me, and giving an insight into the realties of war and the important work that humanitarian charities do. We have recorded a couple of other videos which I'll be releasing throughout the week, if you want to pick up the book then links are below: UK: www.bloomsbury.com/uk/frontline-midwife-9781526625519/ Australia: www.bloomsbury.com/au/frontline-midwife-9781526625526/ India: www.bloomsbury.com/in/frontline-midwife-9781526625526/
As a midwife in Australia, this was a wonderful listen. I work in a complex care hospital where we do so many interventions- it's hard to imagine what we'd do without all the fancy stuff! Hands and voice are the most important tools.
As a midwife I'm so excited about and grateful for this interview! It's inspiring to hear about ways people are giving their time and energy to help others
Consider the profound selflessness Anna and others like her demonstrate. Many people in the UK recoil at the idea of allowing foreigners to take refuge here. Imagine going to a foreign warzone to help those most at risk, knowing the mental and emotional toll it would take, with the great phsyical risk as well. Imagine being that brave and serious about helping people. That's truely inspirational.
Her story is really inspiring. with the current war in Ukraine, and a lot of other wars all around the world, many people are caught in desperate situations. Respect to her for helping them, even a small contribution can save many lives and warm their hearts!
