Working in clay- Acrylic Oxide 

This is part of a series of videos introducing clay basics designed for our Lower School artists and those new to working with clay.
This video shows how you can create an oxide like effect with acrylic paint. With acrylic you can achieve more vibrant colours than most oxides but can also mix colours to resemble a more natural oxide finish. Within the video I develop additional colours, rubbing and painting into the surface of an imprinted tile. You can apply these techniques to 3D forms.
Top tip to start with dilute paint and wash off rapidly, it’s easier to build up layers than start to heavily.
