For all working moms who feel guilty because they gave up the battle of "healthy food" with their kids. I spent years of my life (and I still do) cooking from scratch, creating, trying and experimenting new recipes, healthy choices etc. You name it I have tried it! My kids still don't eat vegetables 😒 I cannot tell you how much time I invested in it ....and lost. Do yourself a favor, try little things, don't give up on offering healthy food but pls don't drive yourself crazy like I did. THEY WILL SURVIVE and so will you. #momsaretherealheros
Vegetables are overrated nutrition-wise. Make sure to focus on protein and offer a variety of colorful fruit as a snack. The odd vegetable can be pureed into soups and sauces.
Very relatable. I’m a mom with a 4 yrs old boy and 2 yra old girl . I work from home while watching my kids, it’s very very hard. I’m inspired by how you change your morning habits, my kids wake me up every morning and I hate the feeling. Today is the first time I woke up before them and walk outside. I hope I’ll make this a habit. I’m also done with kids lol thank you for being open. I have that book but never finished it but this is a good sign to read it now lol
That’s incredible mama! I couldn’t do it - very admirable! Good for you getting up before the kids, isn’t it such a game changer?! Keep up the great work! 💪🏻❤️
Oh my gosh….I found my mommy match. I just left a nutritionist appointment and I specified I “hate” cooking and my husband is the cook of the family and told the nutritionist that we have a weird eating family dynamic and hearing this from you makes me feel better I am not the only mom of 2 (13 & 20 year old now) with similar feelings. I am much older and things some how have worked out.
Wow inspiring. I'm a working mom with an 8_5pm job in Kenya. I work from the office but I feel like you must be a very organised and hardworking person to pull off your routine. Keep going mama
Wow I’m so happy I came across your video! Your so honest and we can relate as working mom from home with children! So motivating, creating and inspiring thanks so much for your honesty ❤
I don’t have any children at home anymore. They are grown up😢. I still have been getting some great ideas from you. Thank you for sharing your life with us:)
Found your account maybe about 2 months ago and you have quickly become one of m favorites! You are so relatable and so transparent.. as a work from home momma with 2 kiddos (one of school age and a toddler) watching your life is like seeing mines.. next steps for me is try to wake up eArlier as I’m just like you.. it’s so hard to wake up in the am but it definitely sets the tone for the day
Loved this real, honest video! No “i’m the perfect flylady mama/cook” vibe here! My children are in college but i still learnt from you, especially your morning routine and habits. I did the same, childcare from one three days a week. It was getting too difficult to WFH with little ones (and that was before the WFH boom). If you don’t mind me giving a bit of constructive advice, try and reduce the amount of processed food in the little ones’ diet. It can have an effect on their learning, sleep and behaviour (eg role in adhd). Healthy unprocessed food doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s a myth that you have to slave in the kitchen. There are plenty of books, sites and videos for ideas. Changes need to be made slowly and you’ll need patience if they are used to a lot of beige foods but i promise it’ll be worth it.
So glad to hear from a mom close in age and that has a similar job to mine. It's past my bedtime, but im up doing some cleaning up bc I procrastinated this weekend. I'll be utilizing my lunch time to catch up on the small tasks. ❤ Thank you for sharing your experience. I get you so much!
Hello! So nice to be able to connect over shared experiences! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to comment ☺️ we’re in this together - keep up the great job mama! 🩷🩷
Great video!! I’m WFH with 5 kids, school age… so summers can be crazy but as they get older they sleep til the afternoon (teens) but I do love WFH! I have to go to the gym bc I’m ALWAYS HOME it’s my “me time” and vital to my life now! ❤
Wow that’s a tall order with 5 kids! Amazing that you’re able to make it all work 💓 I totally get going to the gym - my husband is the same way and needs to leave the house and be in a totally different space to enjoy it! 🫶
Just discovered you’re channel and I want to Thankyou. When you were talking I resonated with you on so many levels. When you were talking about you’re sleep habits it’s like I was looking into a mirror. Today if the first day I woke up at 5am and filled my cup before my kids and husband and my why is stronger than my bad sleeping habits. Thankyou ❤
Thank you so much for your transparency! I think we all love your videos so much because you always keep it 100% real and relatable. As a fellow WFH mom, you definitely motivate me! Have a great weekend!
Thank you for creating a space for us working mommas! I stopped watching mom channels on RU-vid because they always left me feeling less than. I work from home and go into the office for 15 hours. It's a blessing to be able to have the option. I have up at 5 also otherwise my days are hectic. I appreciate your channel I know it's not easy to balance it all but your doing a great job!
Thank for the sweet comment! I was just like you and stopped watching other mommy vloggers because I couldn’t relate. It’s absolutely a blessing to have WFH options now especially if you have children! Keep up the great job 💕💕
I am a first time mom and working too. I just started working from home. Glad I found your channel, watching your videos encourages and motivates me to get better at time management. Thank you!! Your kids are sooo adorable 😊♥️
QUESTION! Maybe for the next Q&A- you have great posture sitting at your desk. What are your tips?! Also, thanks for being so real and relatable! I have really enjoyed your videos!
So happy you’re enjoying the videos! Thanks for the comment…I can definitely talk about posture in the next Q&A although I never knew I had good posture so I haven’t really been doing much to improve! lol 💕💕
Just discovered your channel and I’m so glad I did! I relate to pretty much everything you said here and it’s so great to feel represented in this space. Everything from the dinner struggle to the RU-vid workouts … this is working mom life to me! Thank you for putting out this content ❤
Thank you so much for being honest and real. I would feel so bad for working corporate hospitality hours while trying to balance work, masters degree and family.
I am glad to have found your channel. Your routines are very motivating. I worked from home for many years. I am a nurse. I was most recently working for a health insurance company where there was no flexibility. Employees received weekly reports with associated consequences if our keyboards were inactive during our set work hours. This was the case even if we had run out of work to do. It was causing me so much anxiety. I have a toddler now and have actually decided to go back to an on-site job for my own mental health. I am battling some guilt over my toddler starting in daycare. I appreciate your positive words of encouragement on these topics.
Thanks so much and so happy you’re here and we’re able to connect! That’s so crazy about your job with the weekly reports - it would give me major anxiety too! I’m so glad youve chosen to do what’s best for your mental health. Don’t beat yourself up too much about daycare…I went through it and honestly after you get into the routine and realize that your child is safe and happy (and so are you), it all gets better! Sending hugs 🤗
Love your transparency and realness! I work from home during the week (mostly during my daughters naps) and it has definitely been getting really difficult lately. We are planning to enroll her in daycare in the fall! She will be turning two. I am excited.
This was so helpful especially the link to the workout videos because I have said to myself, I want to get back into strength training and was planning on doing a search for some good videos. I need to get myself up early again because when I did wake up early, I understand that magic effect it has and really transforms everything. You become in control of your day instead of the day controlling you.
Yay! So happy it was helpful to you! Love the way you put that…getting up early really does have a magic effect and sets a positive tone for the day! Keep it up! 💕💕
i like that you were so genuine in your answers - please stay that way even when you get more and more famous! especially love your advice on balancing work with your life. Thanks for putting in the effort to make these viseos.
toddler meal ideas... "you're asking the wrong girl" i laughed sooo hard at this! you are too funny and i can totally relate to you so i love watching your videos. i also work from home and have a 3 year old daughter who can be a handful. luckily, she goes to preschool for part of the week and is with my mother in law part of the week. it is definitely hard to juggle both things! but you are an inspiration to me and i have been doing better at taking breaks and cleaning my house or going for a walk during work hours. i am also getting up an hour earlier in the morning. thank you for for all the good tips and bless you for all you do!!!
I’m so thankful I found your channel! I’m a full time working mom and this is so relatable 🤍 not sure if your kids like smoothies or smoothie bowls but that is how I sneak veggies like spinach or carrots in and it blends well with the all the fruit!
Thank you for the video Amanda ! I have two boys with 18 months apart so understand all the struggles. Jumping from 1 to 2 kids feel not like double, but quadruple of work ! Thanks for keeping it real yet giving us hope that balancing work/life and kids is indeed achievable ! Keep up the good work. ❤
Oh man I started working from home a little over a year ago and thought I could take on wfh with my one year old. I had a little help at 1st until her dad went back to work. When she turned 2 and i was with her all day while working. I had so much guilt, plus i felt like i was loosing my mind LOL because shes so active i had to get help from family for sure they started noticing the burnout! its definitely challenging.
I just found your channel and can identify with most things! I work from home but currently on maternity leave with the second . And it’s so hard! I had to enroll my older one for summer bible camp . I was so overwhelmed!
Hi! So glad you found my channel! It was so difficult for me going from 1 to 2 kids especially if they’re close in age! Keep up the great job mama, it gets easier! 💕💕
4 months pregnant first time mom, just transitioned to working home . This video was gold !!! And just what I needed to hear especially “being glued to your computer 8 hours a day is not healthy bc you wouldn’t do that in the office either “
Hi!! Congrats on your pregnancy! I totally stand by the comment about it being unhealthy to be at your computer screen for 8 hours a day - times have changed!! Take care mama ❤
It was a pleasure to watch your video. You keep it real and that is inspiring. Know that your words even reach the Netherlands😊! I'm going to order the book. Thanks for the tip
Love love to hear your story and tips. I feel sooo identified with your struggles as a mom. Definitely motivating to keep going forward and knowing there will always be struggles and that is OK! 😊❤
I’m not a full time working mom, but I very much enjoy watching your videos. I am bit hesitant to have kids at this point in my life with my husband since I know my habits will need to adjust. I want to have kids, but at the same sometimes I feel like it may not be for me. I feel like I will need to slow down career-wise since my job can be demanding.
So glad you enjoy the videos! Having kids totally is a game changer in every way possible but only you know what’s right for yourself and your family 💕💕 sending love!
Loved this Q&A. You answered a lot of questions I had wondered before but never asked lol. Keep up the great work! I can relate to you so much, it’s hard being a working momma of 2 toddlers and juggling everything. I agree with taking a step back when you feel overwhelmed, need to cut out things that are not necessary- we can’t do it all sometimes. If you do this kind of video again, could you talk about how you and your husband make time for each other and maintaining a healthy marriage. Thanks again for your great content! ❤
I'm curious too about how you and your husband make time for each other. I have been waking up earlier and its been great but my husband is a night owl. He does have to get up pretty early for work but he still stays up late. I realize can't change his habits but he's sometimes upset when I go to bed early because he wants me to stay up with him. So anyway, all that to say...do you and husband go to bed at the same time? How do you manage that?
Thank you for being so honest, it makes everything seem more achievable as you are relatable. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with our first and I WFH full time as an engineer. I know it's not the same but I have a small idea of the guilt you described. I have two little dogs who are so good but do need regular play or walks so they're not super amped up during the day barking at everything making it hard for me to concentrate. We used to have a dog walker come every weekday but when I found out my job would be permanently remote and we moved back east we stopped paying for one. When we get a string of bad weather or I get really busy they don't always get the exercise or mental stimulation they need so they get very hyper. I feel bad when I get frustrated with them knowing it's really my fault that I'm not giving them what they need. I imagine my dog walker was a bit like your daycare but on a much smaller scale.
Thank you and congrats on your pregnancy! I totally get it…dogs or humans, we still feel bad if we don’t feel like we’re giving them our all! Sending hugs and best of luck as you welcome your new baby 💕💕
Thanks for sharing and being so transparent! You are so relatable. I’m in Dallas, I also WFH and my kids also won’t have anything to do with veggies 😂. Will definitely be checking out that book!
This has been so inspirational thank you for doing this video! I’ve been thinking of getting a nanny or daycare because I feel like my little one is just given toys and watching tv the whole time I’m at work and not really learning but in my area I hear so many bad things happening in daycares so it scares me a bit
Awe yay, so happy this video was helpful! If you do go the daycare route, just do as much research as you can! I’m sure whatever you decide will be great for your family 💕💕 mama knows best!
You can get mother helpers they charge much less because you're there sharing the load and your child has someone to play with and entertain them. School kids do it here for around 10 an hour which is way cheaper than childcare here and retirees often do it too during school hours for some extra funds and you know your child is safe because they are there with you. If you go the childcare route ask other parents about their experiences, go visit more then once, try and find one with cameras you can access, read reviews online and try to visit them at meal times or friday afternoon if anything is amiss that's when you'll see it clearer because that's when they're under the most stress.
Burnout is so real and so hard. I need to get better about anticipating my burnouts and doing things to prevent them. Also need to make small changes to develop better habits.
Another extremely relatable video, Amanda! Thanks for being real about how you balance everything. You have given me inspiration to re-start my early morning routines ;) Also, do you have a link to your top from this video? Thanks!
Hi! Thank you and so happy you enjoyed the video! My top is from Target! www.target.com/p/women-39-s-short-sleeve-slim-fit-ribbed-t-shirt-a-new-day-8482-white-m/-/A-84005937?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000086349400&CPNG=PLA_Women%2BShopping_Traffic_Local_Traffic%7CWomen_Ecomm_AA&adgroup=SC_Women_Local&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=m&location=9027792&targetid=pla-1069759242670&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfYlv6DwWl2FjfmrnxEA_2zIr&gbraid=0AAAAAD-5dfYlv6DwWl2FjfmrnxEA_2zIr&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiZqhBhCJARIsACHHEH-ednlwi5AuhFX1hqvABnzU91yd2VCrecmeQwkYtxfkcYspU2IPiGoaAs_VEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Where did you get this shirt it’s so flattering! I’m also a wfh mom in digital marketing who just Duarte’s s RU-vid! Had no clue you were in marketing ❤
Hi Amanda! I found your channel this morning. We are the same age and in a very similar season of life - I have a 4.5 year old son and an 18 month year old daughter. I know you work from home full time but do you have any advice for a mama that works full time in the office? My main struggle is only having nights and weekends to clean the house, do laundry, grocery shopping, etc. I never feel like I have enough time for my kids, keeping on top of house stuff, my alone time and time with my husband.
Hi Annie! So happy you found my channel and that we’re able to connect over similar experiences! I can totally imagine how challenging it is having to go into the office and juggling the rest of life on nights and weekends 😞 you could try waking up early to get your “me time” in…I started getting up between 4:30 and 5am to workout and read, etc. but you could also fold laundry, unload dishwasher or small tasks that don’t take up too much time. I also ask my husband for help with grocery shopping, doing his own laundry and dealing with the outdoor area/garage so if that could work with your family it can help take some stuff off your plate! Other than that don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do all the cleaning etc, because family time and alone time is SO much more important 🫶♥️ sending hugs and keep up that great job mama! 🤗
@@Amanda_Fadul Thank you for your advice and getting back to me so quickly! I'm going to try waking up earlier but like pre-October you, it will be a struggle (I joke that I'm a professional sleeper because prior to kids, I could sleep 10-12 hours lol). I have one more follow up question - if your kids slept terribly, will you still wake up early or try to sleep in? My daughter is going through a sleep regression and she's up for hours in the middle of the night (like last night was 2am-4am). If that happened to you, would you just get up and start your day or sleep in since you didn't get enough rest?
Ciao Amanda, mi permetto di consigliarti una super ricetta salva vita con verdure... hai provato a fare insieme ai tuoi bimbi delle polpette di verdure? Semplici semplici. Ciao ciao
I do the same. I just get things in during my work time. Helps me to move around too verses just sitting at my computer 8.50 hours a day. I'd be crazy. 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Amanda and fans, I am super interested in the computer stand that you can adjust its height. I live in UK and wonder where did you order this from and how can I search to find sth similar. Not sure why my user name appears so awkward when I leave comments (sorry...)
Would love a tour of your like gym area. Trying to get started on a routine but feel so unmotivated with the space I have and the lack.of things needed
WFH and babysitting during Covid just killed me! It’s a norm that came out of the pandemic that i think should never exist. You end up not working, not taking care of your kids, and blaming yourself for everything. What happened to the “it takes a village to raise kids” 😩
Aw girl I completely agree! It should not be the norm and shouldn’t exist…I don’t think we realize the magnitude of how overwhelming it can be trying to do it all at the same time. Truly not sustainable IMO. Also where is this village?! 😔 it seems like we’ve gotten so far from that concept which makes sense why things seem so much more stressful and hectic these days without the support that communities had years ago. Stay strong mama! Sending hugs 🤗🫶
It can be challenging at times but I wake up early in the morning around 5am to workout, read and do things that make me happy and set me up for success during the day. I also make sure to log off work at 4:30 so that I can pick my kids up and have time with my family. Hope this helps!
