It is true that we all miss you. But the fact that you haven't stopped vlogging is enough for me to keep my faith alive that you will be able to maintain your family and work equally well. Anu, I still start my day watching your video. They boost up my spirit and I go through my day with such enthusiasm that I wonder sometimes how I have done so many things in such a little time. Another important issue you have raised today is sleepover. I feel the same way too. And I think it should be so. Just because some cultures permit it, it doesn't become the most appropriate thing to do. We hear a lot of things these days that we could not even imagine when we were growing up. We need to be a little bit protective to a certain degree till they reach a certain age. After all they are our children and they are still very young to understand everything. If there is someone whom we can really trust to look after our kids it would then be permissible. Thank you Anu for bringing up such an important issue for discussion. God bless you dear.

100% agree with you on this. If we think about it, where is the developmental / social benefit that outweighs any risk with leaving young children out of our care?? Other than feel like they've broken away from us simply to stay awake and be around friends I don't see the point??? The world is no longer what it once was we need to make right choice to protect our children.

Hi Anu, yes I used to have this a lot about sleep overs, I live in Australia and my son used to find it fascinating when other kids used to talk about it and the fun they had or someone else picking them up from school and all, when he was 8 I know quite young but I thought he should know about dangers and abuse and drug/alcohol issues people have not in detail of course but in a language he can understand my concern about his safety and wellbeing. I knew my son always needed to know why and what, reason explained to him really well. he understood and now he never asks me that even glad to see him taking initiative for his own safety. He knows about what is off-limit and why now i don't have to say no he just draws line himself.

Anu, so glad to see and hear you ! I really love to listen to you. Your thoughts and notions. Well, so far as sleep over is concerned, I too am not comfortable. I have daughters and I don't like to send them to another building to play. If it's the same building then it's not so much a concern. I am like sways worried about them and want to see them around. I don't know how am I gonna manage in future and how would they react when they grow up. But it's all about their safety an wellbeing.

Hello Anu Di... Dear you look really stressed...even from your voice too... I know it’s really really hard to manage job, work, home, kids n everything...please do take your time we won’t want u to end up getting sick... One tip to be remain connected you may share your pics or food pics or anything u like to share on RU-vid community tab in few minutes until you come up with another video....this way we will feel being connected though video may take time... Please take care have some time for yourself too. I don’t have kids yet, but I m damn sure of not letting them stay without me anywhere until they get 16 or so...I understand what u upto...same feeling 🤞🏼

Welcome back and thanks for sharing your day with us. I beg to differ regarding sleepovers. I remember as a kid my parents especially during our summer holidays used to let us go for sleepovers once or maybe twice in a year (in a safe and controlled environment). These sleepovers not only gave us an opportunity to experience new culture and new family rules but also helped us build little chunks of independence to manage ourselves on our own. Being too controlling and/or overprotective has proven to be counterproductive but then to each their own. Every parenting style is different and every parent is doing a great job in bringing up his/her/their child, which is in my opinion, probably the toughest job in the world.

All the best Anu with everything! Sleepover is very common in this country. In my opinion, we should allow the kids in such fun as they are part of growing up with friends and building memories. It builds up their confidence. I know it would be difficult initially, but it will be fine. Plus you can host other friends for sleepover too. But we shouldn't let the kids feel missing out on fun due to our anxiety. They are supposed to have fun. Think over it, you should be fine.

Me neither. We are in Australia but my daughter only had sleepover when it was our family friends and that too she was the only girl child they had at home. It was too close a family or else no sleepover.

Thanks for the lovely video. I am in full agreement with you regarding sleepovers. If you don't feel comfortable sending your child for sleepovers then don't do so . I even never sent my child. I never felt comfortable sending him for sleepovers. He totally understands my feelings and now being a high schooler himself says no to sleepovers. So do whatever your mind tells you do and that's perfectly okay and soon your children will understand your feelings .

I loved the fact that you joined work because it’s for sure a challenge to be a working Mom. And it’s nice to see your video as a working mom. I am also one of the moms who is not comfortable sending my kids for sleepover. Your kids are small and my kids are teenagers but I have still not allowed them. I tell my kids that we as parents are not comfortable and they respect it. I loved the fact the fact that you had sandwiches for dinner I often do that on weekends as I need a break too 😀

Hi! Your videos really inspire me towards life. Regard to sleepover, I too have gone through the turmoil of allowing or disallowing. Finally my daughter of 10 is allowed. But only in the house of close friends whose parents I know. And all of them in the same complex.

Thank you so much for the subtitles! This was the first video I was able to watch all the way through. Please continue to put them on for those of us that want to follow but only speak English. Oh and you are very smart not to let your kids sleep over at peoples homes. To much can happen when you are not there to look after your child. I too don't let my kids sleep over. Sleep over are a perfect time for kids to explore things they should not and for someone to take advantage of the fact that the parents watchful eye is not there. Better safe then sorry!

Anu, firstly, thanks a ton for making such lovely videos. I am single, so have not yet experienced motherhood except adoring my niece n nephews growing up in diff parts of the globe. My view is that as kids growing up in India, we spend more time with our cousins during family gatherings/breaks/occasions. Thats comparatively not so much the case in the US. So, to learn to understand others' styles of living, their thinking, culture, you can send the elder one to his friends whose parents are at least familiar with your family. If possible, you can even socialise with other kids parents' by moving out of your own comfort zone.

Hey from Scotland; just do what you can my dear; v log once a month; priority is family and Home life...I agree with you about the sleepover but recently my girls (6 and 9 year old) had a sleepover; you need to educate your child to know to speak up and act on their instincts; we can’t protect them forever; we can only educate them; teach them the life skills to help them in the big bad world; I have one thing to share; people think going to someone house is dangerous etc; sleepovers but a lot of the abuse either physical or mental takes place in a child’s own house, by close relatives who come and go and stay the night; people you trust the most; so again just make it easy for a child to discuss anything with you; as sometimes that’s what the abuser takes advantage of; good communication and understanding is key. Plus the brothers are together so protective of each other; send them together; it’s all up to you; how you feel; I would say our children are way more clever than we give them credit for. I had received notification last week itself, but was busy with some house stuff so couldn't watch it until last night. About the sleep over, I totally agree with you. MY opinion is same,and I follow same rule.If my elder daughter is sleeping at friend's place ,they should be our family friends if not then I should be there. Hello Anu ji , good to see your vlog after a long time .Now a days I too come to youtube only when i see a notification from your channel. Believe me your blogs are much awaited, hope you are settling well at job and are able to manage everything well. No pressure but please if possible do a video on how you are managing kids and home with job ,specially meal preps and kids routine after work and ways on spending one on one time with kids . I am trying my best to juggle between all these , but it would be good to get some ideas . After how long did u go back to workforce? Also with a sleepover, I haven’t yet reached that phase yet as my lil one is only 4 , but regardless I would follow the principle and upbringing that my parents gave me . No matter which part of the world we live in and how much safer it is ? I would not allow my child for a sleepover until he is grown up enough to take his own decisions. Eventually we will have to let them go and we can’t always hold unto them ,but for everything there’s a right age and time . If your child’s friends parents permit and if that makes your child happy you can organise a sleepover at your place.

Hi Anu........u r right, its not easy for us to allow our kids for a sleep over. Although my girls have not asked for a sleep over yet but I am sure I won't be able to allow them to sleep somewhere without me.

Hi Anu, I've been watching all your videos and I silently take inspiration from all the things you do and the wisdom you share on so many aspects of life. I want to ask you a very personal question and sorry if I'm being too intrusive.. I just want to know as to what was the prime reason for you to take up a job? Ive been a stay at home mom for the last 3 years and even I'm in a dilemma as to take up a job or not when my little will begin to go to school shortly. As much as I'm enjoying my time with her, I feel that she is growing up and even I need to something for myself. It would be great to hear your insight on this and it will help me to decide too as to what is best for my family. Hoping to hear from you soon. Keep your spirit going and remain the person you are.
