Yo garret! A good trick for the cold plunge is to dunk your head as a soon as you get it. It actually helps your body initially through a primitive response to water on the head specifically. Try it out!
I absolutely felt when you said the hardest thing is doing the myfitness pal on the road- Now while I am living the life you're currently living - i work from home 3x a week and go to my office 2x a week - and on those days i goto the offices ---- the SODIUM intake is OUT rageous- If you're looking for a cheap way to get calories - dollar tree has boost protein shakes - I checked the expiration and got 30 of them and it has actually helped a ton! My Breakfast - Peanut butter bagel- Greek Yogurt - Boost shake - Maybe protein bar depending on what you're trying to do! its about 800-1100 calories
You have the right idea with the diet stuff man. Builking and cutting is not the way. Maingaining or just being in a very slight surplus is the way. Then just locking in and doing what is consistent! Good call.
Pitted dates and sunflower seeds are easy calories. Have bulks and cuts. Just bulk and cut slower and within lower BF ranges. Muscle growth wont be maximized, but that's also not your goal as you said. Trying to remain the same weight will lead to no progress in the gym. It's as simple as taking daily weigh in for weekly averages. Gaining to fast, put the fork down. Gaining too slow pick up the fork. Top end of BF range, aggressive mini cut. The deviation weekly swings will be much greater since there's travelling involved. Not necessarily a bad thing given the goals.
