I am so excited to see this video! I struggle with this issue daily, and would love to have more control of my knee. I made it through one set of exercises fine, but my knee wasn’t up for doing a second set. That’s OK that’s why I love your channel, I can do as much as I can do today and come back tomorrow and try and do more. Thank you so much for making this video.
Dr Elyse, I had brain stroke in 2021 which resulted in my right side getting paralysed. I have been watching your fantastic videos regularly for the past one year. It has been really helpful. Thanks very much. My only worry is my arm and fingers. My fingers close easily but they don't open without help from unaffected hand. Please let me have your learned opinion. Thanks once again.
Can anything be done to retrain your affected knee to bend out like you are doing the slides? My knee does hyper extend however I'm not able to activate my quad or kick my knee out. Are there any tricks to learn that again?
Thank you dr Elyse, for this video. Followed you in these exercises and the only one which was slightly painful for my knee was the “isometric quad”, but I think this is due to the problem with the meniscus. I’m going to do them again though, as I need more stability when I walk. Greetings from England 🌺
I had a lot of trouble with knee hyperextension for 10 years. PT didn't really help. Brad and Bob suggested putting a wedge under my heel. A lift or a piece of carpet. IT lifted my heel enough so my knee stayed a little bent and not snap back. I used a wedge under my heel for 3 months. No more KNEE HYPEREXTENSION. You also have to keep on doing the exercises or it will not work.
I *did*? have an issue at one time bringing my affected leg in when sitting down. I found that the limb didn't come in compactly and thus my heel would strike the ground when my leg was still extended outwards. Some p/t and brain training helped alleviate it pretty good though there are still hiccups now and then.
Thank you Elyse. I've found that I cannot slide my leg with the heel slide straight. I've got right hemiplegia. But leg keeps opening and knee goes out not straight. Any advise please?
