Muhammad never claim that he was God or something like that. If you read Quran you will find that very clear. Also if you are exposed at least to the most authentic book of his tradition such as the book of Bukari or Muslim, you will see the clear picture about this great Prophet.

@@user-qx2bf3hi4b well, I think Muhammad was a religious reformer, and the belief system that developed under his influence was influenced by versions of Christianity and Judaism, current among the Arabian tribesmen in the sixth century. Once the Islamic Empire expanded the Qur'an was created and ways of life codified to hold it together and distinguish Islam from Judaism and Christianity as these peoples became Subjects. Initially there would not have been such a clear distinction. That's what I think history shows about Islamic origins.

@@jamesupton4996 This is very naive thinking. I know why many said such comments. The only reason to say that is because the similarities between the three religions. But if we think objectively, we must know that the source of the three religions is one. Prophet Muhammed wasn't a first Prophet to be sent by Almighty God, there were many Prophets proceeded him. Thus not necessarily to believe that he was just a reformer. Many new concepts and news were mentioned in the Quran not found in the Bible. So how those concepts and news came to him? Try to be objective and think out of the frame you are in.

Rejection of the Trinity, and that one unclear verse about the crucifixion of Jesus. I'm not disputing what we know historically about the origins of Islam, I'm interpreting it as an historical phenomenon, a religious movement, of that time and place and subsequently.

As I said the similarities found in the three religions not necessarily make them copy from each other. Otherwise we can then say even Christianity was copied from Judaism or even from Hinduism since there some similarities between the two creeds !

Sheikh Ahmad Deedat was wonderful, may he rest in Allah's Noor. Dale Allison is a world renown Christian Scholar working in a University that trains Priests. If we cite one of these books it will be treated as anti-Christian propaganda by Christians while if the other book is cited then even Christians will have to take notice.

I think Bro Paul try to build a conversation, understanding point of view from Senior Christian Scholar, no intention to debate. Everybody can read any book they want. I watch a lot of Sheikh Dedaat since his CD sales in my country, and watch his UTUbe video. All of this adds to religious knowledge and insight. @@mindexcursion9856 I don’t think anyone implied what you are suggesting. Ahmed Deedat’s life’s work basically unpacks all the contradictions in the Gospels including in his book Who moved the stone. One of the comments was asking Paul to point the audience in the direction of Ahmed Deedats book. Atila was responding saying that this could be considered malicious by Christians, so why not point the Christian audience towards Christian scholarly works which achieve the same goal but will have far more credibility with the Christian audience?

I don't know if there really is "the most knowledgeable historian on the topic of Jesus' resurrection" but many scholars do put forth some highly reasonable statements. I like to listen to various scholars. But to comprehend completely the resurrection of Jesus is beyond the finite, limited minds of man. Thanks for sharing.

@@johnbrzykcy3076 Yes, scholars like Professor Gary Habermas, Dr Mike Licona, Dr Richard Bauckham, Simon Gathercole, and many others, believe that Jesus was crucified and after the crucifixion, and his death on the cross, finalised by spearing into the chest (which leads to quick death), that Jesus was seen after 3 days of being in the tomb, outside of the tomb appearing to as many as 500 people. There's a simple logic about this and it is this - if Jesus was crucified his followers and disciples would have "come to the end of the road" literally if this was the end of everything! There would be no further followers of Jesus, no 'believers', no Christianity and no Christians - period! It was a shameful humiliating death for their master , teacher and leader! Tacitus the Roman historian captures this historical period in his writing Annals 15:40 when he said that Jesus was crucified by Pontius Pilate and that ended his following.....but it quickly "broke out again"! Jesus's crucifixion should have been the end of it - but his resurrection appearances meant that Christian beliefs were born and spread rapidly from then on, right into Rome!

@@peaceinjesus5221 also a sideote, there's a reason why jesus was crucified. if they really wanted to kill him, they wouldve cornered him on the streets or even just commit a normal murder. crucifications at that time indicated that the crucified person was cursed, and the jews wanted to prove that this person is not the messiah and therefore inflicted upon him a "cursed death". However in Islam, God is the best of planners and he did not allow that to happen, instead he raised jesus and the jews chose another man amongst them who god made a lookalike of jesus (i also remember something about the curves of the feet of the crucified person and they had some differences from the real jesus)

On at least one occasion, Jesus disappeared out of sight, while they were trying to stone him! Everything was being carefully planned to the moment of his death! What this means is that the crucifixion now makes NO SENSE whatsoever! This means that Allah here not only created deceit, but he created utter confusion and failure!!

there were quite a lot of versions of jesus and his teaching in early christianity, lots of movement were lost or crushed after 325 then after that 1 become the official curch position of jesus story and his teachings then sects were created but from the main branch, marcionism was a movement just to include new testament late movement was rejected by all curch fathers and declared heretic, ebionites etc etc

Authubillah. Muslims learn about Isa from ONLY solid, verified sources which are Quran and authentic sunnah. The Bible and it’s “scholars” are not solid sources of information. Much of the Bible of today is fabricated. There is nothing that the Bible or Christians can teach us about Isa. In fact it is us who teach them about Isa.

The term 'son of man' originally in ancient Hebrew should be translated in correct English and must never change on its true meaning. It was/and still is the habits of Christiann scholars uses the English language and its nuance to divert its meaning or eisegete scriptural texts (instead if just exegete) to suit their purpose in promoting Paulistic evangelical concepts.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never called himself THE SON OF MAN. I am not aware of any references in Hadith or the Quran to identify our Prophet as The Son of Man. HOWEVER, when it comes to the Bible and its attempt to HIDE or even EDIT OUT the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we have to credit Muslim scholars with exposing their methodology and showing it to the Muslim World. Please elaborate. What references could you give us from the Bible, Muslim scholars, and or the writings of any Scholars that identify Muhammad (PBUH) as the Son of Man?

Ie., no original to verify according to scholarship. We know uttman had copies and haufsa had a written copy but not found till date. Islamic text reliabilitis based on single source ie., Mohammed... The original single source is lost/ destroyed by uttman and company or missing. Christian source of preservation is diverse source... New testament has 27 books to talk bout Jesus divinity. If 20 books are lost still 7 will prove it. Bible is a compilation of many books by different authors. New testament is not dictation book by God. So not verbatim by verbatim. It is narration by different authors and we believe in inspiration, but individual writes using his language, style of writing, ... So we have different compilers and writers,... But all writers are clear about Jesus divinity... And scholarship accepts it. That is why Christians have no problem with some Bible having extra books in its compilation. It is for Muslim the believe 1."every prophet a book" 2. Allah dictates "so verbatim by verbatim" So no change is possible and only Arabic etc. 3. So for you original is important because you believe in "only Mohammed" for quran and haddis. 4. All original manuscript and first written quran lost or destroyed purposely and hence scholarship have difficulty to check or verify verbatim by verbatim same or not. 5. Injeel introduced by Muslim and claimed dro be lost without a trace... 6. Allah protects and copy is available in heaven. 7. Many abrogations are done in haddis 8. Many sahih haddis are getting knocked out by Muslim scholarship of 21 th century. 9. Preservation of quran and haddis were done only by Muslims under kings so how it got lost? 10. It's really difficult for me to do "research" regarding the New Testament because I don't know the Biblical Greek language, I have simple problems with comprehension due to side-effects of chemotherapy, and to be honest, I often procrastinate to do things that I should. @@johnbrzykcy3076 I'd associate the Son of Man sayings with the mysterious figure of Daniel 7, who seems to have at least quasi-divine characteristics - all peoples "worship" him (verb latreuo in Septuagint) and his kingdom is eternal and indestructible. In Luke 24:69-70, the titles Son of Man and Son of God are correlated, and interpreted by Jesus' enemies as "blasphemy" on Jesus' part. So "Son of Man" seems a high title. It's maybe odd but "Son of Man" in the Synoptics seems to function rather like "Son of God" in John. I don't know why in other respects the Synoptics seem less robust than John, but here at least is a rich vein of exalted Son of Man Christology. I wonder whether apologetic interests might somehow have motivated what you call a "hidden" quality in the Synoptics.

I doubt that very much. I think Muslims should read Quran anew, especially in regards to what is being told about Jesus and others. Actually, the account of Jesus in Quran is not all that positive. Especially, his insistence on miracles, his promotion of his mother, and behavior of his disciples are all negatives mentioned. Humans have all sorts of weaknesses, you can not blame them personally for it. He was knowledgeable, and Allah is the source of all knowledge. Search 'Marvelous Qur'an' on utube for a different take on Jesus.

The Gospels are usually independent but with a different point of view and different readers in mind. Some are written for the Jews, Romans, and Gentile. John is more a book on Christian theology. Did some authors borrow from others, of course. This professor also borrowed from other authors. Just look at the bibliography at the end of the book. The Qur'an is also a compiled book from thousands of Companions and the various caliphs.

But not only Jesus. I also once read book of Isaiah that told me, He will sent a 'spirit of deep sleep' to brought the law (Torah literally means 'law') back to the Israelites because it was forgotten. Muslim traditions believed this to be Ezra the scribe. Now I know that your exegets will say no, it doesn't mean that, but you know. Just to proof, earlier scriptures will prophesized future prophets. You can believe it or not. Muhammad was also written, even by name. Proof of this: there are Jews living in Arabia in his time who still uphold this view. And submitted right away when they hear Muhammad declared his prophethood. Why 600 years? Well, even with Abraham, Isaac & Ishmael in the same timeline, these people still dispute over the genuinity of Abraham. Or I should say, Ishmael or Isaac is the firstborn. That's about 2000 BC. 2600 years prior Muhammad. You can still see remnants of their dispute in the book of Genesis. People called the 'prophets' are the most devout to God in Islam. There's a concept of their sinlessness (Maksum), as there will be no way of them to disobey (and if they did, they repent and Allah forgave them). Why Allah wait for 2600 years to reveal the truth between them for people to know?

Hello Action.... I've never read the Quran but I have heard that it says Jesus never did die on a cross? Is that what Quran correctly says? That idea is very difficult for me to swallow because most Christians ( myself included) believe Jesus was indeed crucified on a cross. I wonder where the Quran got that idea about Jesus?
