A poor world cup, quality wise. Brazil won, almost by default. Greece would win the European Championships 2 years later - by default. Korea/Japan 2002 was generally a graveyard for the fancied teams and top players. Brazil had an absurdly easy group to negotiate, having been poor throughout qualification. This was not a vintage Brazil by any means. Ronaldo dominated the tournament and scored 8 goals yet was barely half the player he was in the mid to late 90s. Sums up that World Cup.
