You can't imagine the energy you have and the emotions that go through you when you visit the cemetery in Normandy. The emotions are unbelievably strong and sad what the military went through on D Day. Please if you can ever visit Normandy please go It unbelievable.

The Greatest Generation...respect to all who served.

Allied forces stood by that D-DAY and fought heavily against the NAZIS in Normandy. Those veterans were not forgotten.

Salute to the Greatest Generation-living or dead. Freedom!

They are humble. They cried when talking about their friends who perish on that they. They are heroes. Look at them, they insist on standing to receive the medals. They are just an amazing generation and they are leaving us everyday.

Both of my grandfathers served and fought in WW2 US Army. I’ve been carrying their pictures in my wallet for 24 years, I always think of them and talk to others about them. One received a battle flag from his comrades! RIP PAPA, DAD. 🇺🇸God Bless America! God Bless the Free World

I am a “Loser and a Sucker.” I fought 3 tours and spent 14 weeks in a VA hospital. Donald Dumpy wouldn’t give me the time of day. I’m nobody to him. Worse than nobody……I am a proud member of our armed services. If you support MAGA, TRUMP or the Republican Party or fly your flag “upside down”, I did not fight for you…….i fought for America. Let’s not leave the Soviet Union out of our D-Day history by JOHN WOJCIK On the 80tlh Anniversary of D-Day today, there are ceremonies honoring the American heroes who landed on the beaches of Normandy and defeated the Nazis. This is as it should be. What is not right, however, is that rarely are we honoring in our ceremonies the Soviet (Russian) heroes who bore the brunt of the battles to defeat fascism in World War II. Americans are not surprised when they hear that historians distort the truth, but most of us believe it is foreign historians, not ours, who are in the business of distortion. The truth about World War II is that the war against the Nazis was essentially already won a year or more before D-Day when American and British soldiers fought their heroic battle on the beaches of northern France. When General Dwight D. Eisenhower and the troops under his command landed at Normandy, however, the Soviet Union had already fought and won the decisive battles of the war. The “second front” opened by our side came, in fact, much later than the Soviet Union had hoped. Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin had been pressuring U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill for almost two years for the opening of a second front in Europe, arguing it would have spared many of the millions who eventually died on the continent.

Now most of Europe is united after thousands of years of petty war for power. It's this last greatest generation will pass away soon, I'm not patriotic but I have respect for everyone the idea of the greater good and ultimately it's God's way. Let this greatest generation teach the current youth the way how our grandfather's and grandmother's from that time thought. ✊✊

Regarding the landing of the Allies in Normandy and their victory over Hitler)) The total number of allied troops of the USA, Great Britain, Canada is 3 million, the number of the Red Army is 11 million. The length of the Second Front was 640 km. The length of the Soviet-German front is 2700 km. Wehrmacht losses on the Eastern Front were 16 times higher than those on the Western Front. The real contribution of Great Britain, the USA and Canada to the final defeat of German Nazism is a maximum of 25%. Paris surrendered to Hitler in 38 days, with the Vichy regime at the state level. and you try to pretend that the Normandy landings are the central event of the Second World War. We also know how long the “allies” delayed opening a second front.

Can not even imagine Trump expressing any appreciation or gratitude for what these brave veterans did so we could all enjoy the FREEDOM that we have. May God bless all Veterans ❤️🇺🇸🙏🏼

Who was the only American President at Omaha Beach back on June 6th , 1944 ?........ President Washington... President Washington gathered all the dead soldiers across the beach and went to assist the soldier with the Bangalore torpedoes and break through the barriers on the beach and make straight paths to Berlin.....as each soldier who fell at Omaha became President Washington's elite fighting unit equivalent to crossing the Delaware on Christmas Eve....

A phenomenal feat by the D-Day Veterans. God Bless you all always..

The most moving part of this ceremony to me is President Macron awarding these heroes the highest honour we could present them : our Légion d'Honneur. Just look how those boys stand up, despite being on a wheelchair, stare at the French president with dignity and humbleness. We are so grateful for them and the sacrifice of so many of their brothers and sisters on our land, to liberate us from an evil we had scarcely seen before. We will not forget them!

Opel's factories in Germany were wholly owned by American General Motors. Jet engines in 1943 for Messerschmitt-262 were created in the German branch of General Motors. Prat & Whitney transferred to Germany the license for the BMW Hornet engine, which was equipped with the Ju-52/3 transporters until the very end of the war. In 1942, British aircraft destroyed Cologne. The city was almost destroyed, but Ford's huge factories were practically not damaged. The Americans supplied oil and gasoline to Germany almost until the year 45. Standard Oil of New Jersey (Exxon) directly sold $20 million worth of gasoline and lubricants to Germany. My late great father was a member of the elite FSSF, whose tremendous valor and courage will never ever be seen again. Hence why they are called and will be forever known as THE GREATEST GENERATION EVER! I wrote these exact words a decade ago in 2014.
