World of Nostalgia 

Gotta love old WoT. 400 was "high" alpha damage, no retarded autoloaders that delete you in 5 seconds, only a few hull down tanks and lights that could actually play the game and not hope they get a map where they can sit in a bush for 10mins.

The glory days of -Tech tree tanks only match maker - Old HE mechanic to get bombardier medal in a KV-2 - Old maps are good/horrible - Old soundtracks - No broken OP premium tanks (looking at you BZ-176) - Fail platoon get a KV-2 vs tier 10 match was funny - All chat and team damage classic days - Artillery used to be scary that one shot tanks than annoying stuns - No campaign missions (Be honest everyone hates Artillery missions) *Sniffs* Is nostalgic TvT

The amount of joy this brings me is unreal. I hope they bring back original World Of Tanks like fortnite OG so we can experience these lovely times again.

So today was supposed to be a different upload, as you may or may not know I've been hunting for the 1.22.1.0 (edit: I have found the version) Because of this I am unable to open important replays for this big video I am working on, so it's been delayed. This video is an emergency reupload of a previously taken down video. The original song got the video blocked, I made a remaster where I used WoT music instead but it just didn't hit the same, so I've attempted to compromise by using this remixed version, which is as close to the original as I can get. Oh well. Cope.

In 2011 my dad downloaded this game on the family computer. Me and him would take turns playing on those rainy weekends here and there. I moved out and this era of WoT reminds me of a much simpler time. :)

i miss cargo port so much, was the map i got my first top gun on and the chaffee races just brought back the nostalgia before ripping it away again

I will never understand why they ruined "Pilsen" map like shown back then here in the beginning. Back then there were buildings, small hill etc and now its just a long bushline which is awful. Why does WG make so stupid decisions all the time

What I miss the most is all chat. I wish I could talk to the opposing team in-battle. So many funny things happened while chatting with the enemies. Now WOT feels like it's heavily censored. Removed all chat, removed team dmg. You know what? Might as well remove team chat as well as general chat in-garage since it's filled with toxic crap anyway.

WoT peaked around 2013/2014 imho. After that most of the things just went downhill. The game was much slower back then, heavies actually were havies and needed the support from mediums and lights to win a battle and turn things around if the enemy team was suddenly capping. In addition to that, gold-ammo spam was much rarer, since you could only afford it with ingame gold and not credits back then. Arty was an actual danger and not just an annoyance with this stupid stun mechanic. Weak points were still a thing that every new player had to learn (me included) since there was no armor indicator telling you were to aim and where not to, there actually was skill needed to place your shots well. Furthermore, there were much less "stupid" concept vehicles in the game (double barrel, auto-reloaders etc.), everything was more straighforward and the skill ceiling was much higher than it is now. The game got fancier and better looking over time, but the gameplay got worse and worse imho. I used to love this game back then, pretty much played it every single day with friends from school and we had a great time. Now this game feels just like a an empty shell of its former self, predending with flashy stuff and crazy vehicles, while the actual battles are decided within seconds by a few OP premium tanks and the 2-key.

This video sure makes any early time wot player say "good old days". This game was a good part of our lives, then it evolved to another creature. The only thing i do about this game is to watch some wot cc s i still like. I havent played this shit for almost past 7 years. Great job Chems, you really made my eyes moist a little.

I dont know why but old (2013) graphics have much better feeling than our days graphics. Obviously less realistic, but it gives much more fun to me. This is true for multiple games. Cs 1.6 > cs2 wot 2013 > now tanki online > tanki x I dont think thats because nostalgia but they give better feelings to me.

I remember back before vehicles had physics on some of the narrow map passages they could become completely impassible with immovable dead tanks

I remember when they first introduced tier 10 mediums and TDs to the game. I remember when physics was released and it felt like a brand new game all over again, with players diving off the bridge on westfield, or figuring out they could, in fact, drown their tanks. I remember when this game was fun.

I may have been only 5 when my dad installed the game in 2013 but damn do i remember the good old days

I feel like these maps actually had a soul, not like the new here is an airfield in the mountains and also a beach bc it looks cool. Old kharkiv especially had an atmosphere. Like an actually war-torn city, not just a few pile of rubble so you can hulldown

I remember those days....the scary kv-1s and simply not understanding bush mechanics or bothering to shoot at weak spots.

In the old days (10-12 years ago) we had just plane maps. You had to adjust the gameplay to the map. These days they adjust maps to the gameplay and we all know how that sucks.

Honestly, back in 2014 i feel was the glory days, before HD, before monthly premiums, when gold was gold.

Ah yes, 20 fps at best, team damage, old gun sounds, and severgorsk. Truly needed a video like this at the end of 2023

What I miss most from old days is shot distribution within reticle

I played for years, started when I was 14; 7 years later it is definitely not the same.. sucks kinda how things change the way they do. Especially for this beloved game. If minimal things were added, if it could compare to the same experience as many years ago, I would play again.

10 years ago my younger brother made an account and played only cause they had the cromwell tank, he just finished watching a documentary about british desert ops... we always played together but i took it over at some point and never stopped playing... but honestly nowadays i barely play the game, having unlocked most of the tier 10s and got most of the prems, having all that choice and variety i .... don't like the game anymore ... this made me relive all those moments and memories with my brother, and it kinda made me tear up cause we don't see each other that often anymore, we grew up playing this shit but don't play anymore, the passage of time is absolute... well done chems

Remember, there was a time before - 3 tier matchmaking - wheeled vehicles and the light tank changes - HE nerfs - AMX ELC / Sheridan / etc. nerfs - artillery stuns - map nerfs and out-of-bounds walls - tiny map pools - removal of all chat and team damage - introduction of Defender and everything that came after And so many more. Glad I don't waste my time on WoT any more.

I wish they would rework all of these maps to HD and just put them back in. Don't care about balance or whatever issues there may have been. It's freaking WoT.. it's not that serious anyways and 1 game on an "unbalanced" map won't make or break peoples overall stats. Swamp, northwest, hidden village, sacred valley, windstorm and south coast were all bangers back then!

I hope someone will release mod to make the game look like this. It's beautiful!

Old WOT was so awesome its hard to think of a better game back in the day. No gold spammers, 1 or 2 prems every battle. Now it's just every tank is premium, all gold firing. Can't even penetrate hull down. Faded away from the game after 20k battles, 2012-2020 :)

Good memories, altough I'm glad those times are gone, gold ammo and camo for real money, tier IV light tanks playing against tier X it was just bad, but god damn I miss climbing and vibe. Sometimes I feel like players were better those times, but I improved myself a lot since then.

Hell, I feel old when even some of the maps featured in nostalgia video werent released yet when I ditched thegame 💀 (there was M24 chaffee race event around the time I quit). I also remember that for a while there was main gamemode where the matchmaking put players in teams based on their nation, it wasnt for a long time tho, my theory (👴)why they later removed it is that (from my experience) some nations were much stronget than the others (looking at you russia) and the games were pretty one sided. PS: I used way too many brackets

World of Tanks went full throttle downhill once they removed climbing from the game. Back then it was still fun. Good memories

Up to date the pixel (8 bit) tanks christmas event from 2013/14 is the most nostalgic one for me as it was the first experience in the game

Game lost sense after 1.0. Now it's just more or less pain. Look at old maps, there were no hulldown positions everywhere, etc. I play since 2012 and I was only 10 years old then, it was fun. I now its nostalgia, but nowadays its just playing with more broken tanks every year etc. If you want check my stats sure do it, eu server, nickname the same as here ;)
