I've noticed a depressing trend in these videos where NPCs or areas used to serve a unique or important purpose in Vanilla WoW but no longer serve any purpose in Retail. Class quests, weapon masters, iconic questlines, etc. Reminds me that Vanilla felt more in-depth and immserive than Retail.
I also don't get it how they just abandoned the idea of class trainers at all, yet let the NPCs in. It just feels so redundant now. There was a certain sense of pride in going to your class trainer after leveling and upgrading your spells.
Don't forget that the apple trees are also part of a quest to get cider for the king (which has been since Cata, so it just changes who the king is currently) :D Also, my head-canon for Azeroth equivalent to Germans are goblins. Really good at mechanical things and there was that subplot in Uldum with the whole Indiana Jones inspired quests with goblins led by Commander Schnottz and his Schnottz Sea Troopers. Blizz gave his dialogue an extremely thick German accent.
Well yeah goblins are Germans one of Gazlowe's lines is literally "precision goblin engineering" which is a reference to the precision German engineering meme
Great video, I am glad to see you upload again and there was some stuff in this video I didn't even notice before in stormwind, However I have some criticism but it's really minor. I guess it's just an editing error but and 9:02 when talking about Dungar Longdrink the flight master the square you highlight on the map is actually in the wrong area as it's closer to where the Demon Hunters are in the mage district. I noticed this happened some other times in the video. Mistakes happen, I get it but just thought I should point this out. Otherwise it's a great video and I am looking forward to seeing more of your content. Cheers.

I love your videos so much. I expect they are time consuming to make, but they are much appreciated. They feel like "coming home" somehow, even when they are introducing tiny environmental details I never noticed in my rush to complete my next game objective. Thank you for the love and care you put into these deliciously immersive episodes of world exploration.
So many of your animated yellow squares when introducing the areas on the city map are in the completely wrong places. Rest of the video is great though. I mainly play horde so a lot of these references are new to me! I like the bioshock infinite one the most
I'm 95% "for the Horde!", myself. I have ally characters but they're more for the achievements, I don't really randomly play them like I do the horde. Still, game lore is always cool, regardless of preference.
I had never picked up on Northshear Abbey or Coach Inc references. The barber shop is such an awesome in game pun reference. Also, thank you for making a video covering Stormwind City! You have such great video and sound quality. I look forward to the next one!
I love this series thank you, reminds me of a travelling show lol. But seriously it's fun to see, I started playing back in 04 or was it 2005 anyway vanilla then in '15 I stopped haven't played since, but when I heard classic WoW, and how I miss questing, I'm thinking of a return. ALSO if you get time, I love it when you do a quest like it's a real thing or book on tape those are so awesome. You weren't alive in 92, lol I was in highschool then. Always a thumbs up thank you love this channel!!!
As a longtime player, I knew every single one.. But that's not why I liked the video. What I really appreciate is your positive attitude. Especially in the old content there's a lot of inconsistencies (EG swapping the barber but leaving the old reference) - A lot of people might get stuck on that and complain like I am now. But you keep it cool and positive the whole way through. What a pro!

the small city stahnbrad and durnholde keep are also roughly in the area and sound kinda german. also Lohenscheid in silverpine forest, which is named forsaken front nowadays
0:19 It was burnt to the ground during the first war and spent the entire second war that way (it was rebuilt during the events of WC2: Tides of Darkness though). The Stormwind City in WoW technically isn't the same Stormwind City that was there at the start. Ship of Theseus and all.

I got stuck in that cheese shop once and had to hearth out. But my hearthstone was keyed all the way over in the Desolace! My hearthstone was almost refreshed by the time I got back to SW. This was back in BC before guild levels gave you a fast one.

Disney Imagineering and Level Design are actually VERY similar! One of them is just in the real world. A lot of the same skillset is needed to draw people's eyes and include fun secrets :)

So interesting that a place I've been to so often has so many secrets I never noticed. Draenor? Broken Isles? Terrokar Forest? Explored them 100%. But Stormwind's Trade district? Not even close.
Wow, I didn't even know aout the Persona 5 refrence, nice video! However you missed one major refrence. Behind the grave of Varian Wrynn on the balcony there is an NPC named Soulare of Andorhal who is a refrence to Solaire of Astora from the Dark Souls series. If you do /praise at him he will respond with "Praise the Light!" which is a refrence to the famous quote "Praise the sun!" You can also do /tired and he will give you a bonfire toy.
About the apple tree at 2:53, I have a faint memory of doing a cooking daily in Cata that involved picking up apples from the trees in SW, so it does have a purpose =)
I believe the two gnome skeletons under the floorboards in the barbers may be a reference to the two child princes murdered in the Tower of London given the whole Sweeney Todd theme (though they were murdered hundreds of years earlier than the Sweeney Todd era)
I may be wrong, but I think the yellow place marker at 3:50 for Renato is incorrect. The character icon on the map is the correct place in the Trade District, but the yellow marker is far up north. 🙂
I also believe the yellow marker at 9:03 is incorrect if I understand correctly. The roost is, I believe, where the character is shown to be on the map, while the yellow marker is far to the left in the Mage District 🙂 Of course, I may completely misunderstand the usage of the yellow marker, in which case I apologize for my mistake. 🙂
That was my first thought when I saw this. I never came around to playing ally much, but UC will forever be my home. Although Stormwind DOES look interesting and should I ever return I might consider starting an ally char from scratch. (Currently on an almost 2y hiatus because of my shitty laptop)
@@RealRevirg I had a long hiatus of almost 10 years, then my friend got me back into it and I stuck to it till my laptop started sabotaging me. My cousin and her husband, who got me into the game in the first place also started playing again and that was great fun to be able to quest together.
I'm Italian and the first time i see Renato Gallina back in vanilla I was amused. His name literally means Reborned (Renato/Rinato) Hen/Chicken (Gallina). I literally can't believe it.
