Urasims the only good part of the movie. This track and others should have been all around the movie. Warcraft have some really amazing soundtracks and it got me mad how they didn’t use them.
The things I would give to go back and relive those early days... Fighting in STV and Tarren Mill, questing and dungeoning my way to 60 (so many good memories doing that), all those UBRS runs I organized over chat in Orgrimmar to get my Valor chestpiece (which I never got), late night fishing, the release of Dire Maul, getting into a HC raiding guild and us finally wrecking MC and Onyxia in a single night (no one besides a few were doing that back then and only us on our server), getting my Quel'serrar sword (which to this day is still my pride and joy as a transmog), the release of BWL (That first room was INSANE), and etc. I could go on and on. So many good friendships, some of which survive to today. Man, what I would give to go back and live it all again...
There's a server site called Kronus that let's you do that but it says I need to choose an app to open it before I can download it. & you could just make a new lvl 1 char but the area's 7 leveling speed are changed now.
This brings back memories indeed, always liked this login screen the most, wish there was an option that made it so you could change between each and every login screen as you yourself desired.
Fox Mcloud dude interestingly, there is a way to change your music. There should be step by step instructions online just gotta find it. I used a RU-vid video. Takes a bit but I replaced the Legion login music with the TBC one. Might change it to this one next lol
The first time I ever played this game was over at my friends house back in 2005. I watched him play all night until about 1 a.m. and he went to sleep and let me play. I played this game all night long and fell in love immediately. I started as an orc hunter and made it all the way to the barrens that night. I got disconnected and didn't want to wake him, so I remember staring at this screen just thinking about how epic this game just was. I had to wait 7 months until Christmas when my parents built me a computer. Just watching this loading screen takes me back to that moment in time when I felt pure wonder and exploration.
As someone who couldn't afford a PC till the last couple years that could run this well I wish I could go back with today's advantages and be able to experience this.
I used to get this incredable magical feeling when I saw this an was about to login. It's just a glimps and its gone. a fleeting memory of the best feeling I have ever known. Its hard to hang onto but I get when I see this from time to time. It's that portal... I also see a winestained cloak in my mind... and Cartman's voice saying "comon lets go"
seriously the only nostalgic memories this brings back is "Disconnected from server". Waiting fucking hours for servers to come back up from maintenance or crashes.
really wish i could have played in vanilla WoW =| sounds like it was so much better than current. no silly dungeon finder, raids were hard as nothing else, battle grounds didnt exist, just good ol' south shore and taren mill. RIP a good game =\
Battlegorund sure were in vanilla, just not at the start. Remember how you had to walk to the entrances to the gulch in The Barrens, AV in the snowy mountians of Alterac and the base in Hillsbrad to enter Arathi basin in order to quene :)
Ah, this theme, the expectation, the thought of far off distant lands and discovery, the unknown world of azeroth, high adventure. Was an innocent time, before we all became jaded old men.
So you really wanna go back to a game from 2004 that has way less content then todays wow? I'd prefer playing Legion instead of going back to vanilla wow i even played on a private server it didn't feel right.
+Evan Evan I didn't say that, I just get a feeling of nostalgia when I think back to the original version because I was just younger and it was a new experience for me, that world and the social aspects of the game I had never experienced before.
+Alexander Edward It was fun like NES was fun, i do agree that WoW has lost a lot of immersion due to convenience. The world in vanilla felt HUGE because there were no portals around.
Nimbo Technically no, this is seen from Azeroth. The Snake is on the Azeroth Dark Portal. The Dragon (like in the Burning Crusade Login Screen's Dark Portal) is on the one in Outland.
Unlawful Potato then how come the surroundings of the portal look like hellfire area and inside the portal looks like some peacefull and lush place in azeroth (which outland clearly lacks) Maybe they just goofed ?
Nimbo Well, it was the start of WoW. They really weren't all that sure of what to do at the time with it. It was just an artistic thing to bring players in. If anything, you could say it's a symbol for us as the players going from a boring looking world (that you see as the background possibly) into a fictional world like Azeroth. But in all honesty, that is all it is: an early WoW thing that Blizz didn't think much about when they made it.
Soon, we will be back, the old and new players will unite. We will relive or play out what we once held so great. When our leaders were great or in peril. When the standouts existed. No longer will we be bound by item level or how many epics we were. The playing field will be level and the true test of skill will be seen in the tactics, awareness and efforts of the players. Rejoice my sisters and brethren, rhe great portal has open and it is time to claim what is rightfully ours! LOK'TAR OGAR!
I know this is a late reply but wow never died and will not any soon. It still has a larger playerbase than any other mmo. When legion hits the sub counts gonna increase a real lot.
I wish I was born in that time to play this masterpiece. But I was born when it came out lol, Im watching a lot of Zack ( Asmongold ). I feel like its really something while ive never played it.
Daniel Z I'm not quite talking about an expansion in particular, but the whole game, which is currently legion. so much shit from previous expansions and its just.... no
What made Wow interesting for me back in the days was the hard difficulty and the social aspect. Both are in Warlords of Draenor completely gone, as the game is flooded with tons of heirlooms, and you can pretty much play your way to end game without uttering a word (since dungeon finder etc.)
+Sören SA it's not just the difficulty, it's a bunch of things that made vanilla and TBC a better experience than modern WoW. The vanilla zones were more sandboxy and encouraged exploring. Much of the gear was simplistic and standard looking compared to the end-game gear, which made the PVP and PVE tiers look more impressive and felt more special. These days everyone runs around looking like a christmas tree. Flying mounts destroyed world PVP and made the world feel smaller, even the devs admitted flying mounts was a mistake. etc etc I could go on forever lol
provo blizzlike compared to funservers with instant max lvl and free epic gear vendors lel, altho u could buy epics on warsong with real money, so that was even worse in a way
Vanilla was so much more social, hard and engaging. The players were kinder and a lot better and you really felt this ''immersive'' feeling. Getting an upgrade from a normal dungeon was like winning the fucking lottery because dungeons back then were REALLY difficult. Dying over and over again used to be the norm in vanilla nowadays people quit a dungeon after 2 wipes.
+Asbjørn Grandt Vanilla was unfortunately a huge grind. Grinding for epic mounts, which costed 20 times more than it does now, grinding bg's constantly to achieve the GM title. Grinding all the endgame instances for epic lewtz. But vanilla will always have a special and warm place in the deepest places of my heart. Always? Always.
