World of Warships Blitz - French battleship "Gascogne" review 

This one always reminds me of that song from Beauty and the Beast. "Noooo one runs like Gascon, no one hides like Gascon..."

The Gascogne is the reward for the grind in the French BB line (although I loved having 16 guns on the Lyon). It's fast and deals damage like crazy if you use the reload at about 8 seconds, which reloads your main guns twice before cooldown.

This is reasonably becoming my go to WOWS Bltiz channel reasonably

Definitely the best looking ship in my opinion the french can really make great looking ships

I found gascogne to be a ton of fun as well, the reload booster is a very unpleasant surprise for people that think you are still reloading The alsace is pretty brutal against T8 with 12 380mm guns, they do tend to struggle against some T9 BBs and the T10 BBs, especially at long range so its better to load HE at 9km or further

Hello Terry. Another very good review, of a hard ship to play when you start with this line (my first t8...), but very fun when you have a good experience. Good luck with the T9 Alsace! 😂 You have no range with the main gun (13.41 kms without historical camo fun in front of other t9, t10 and.... T8 who are better), no armor, no flood and fire protection (hello cv), and no rapid reload skills (one day perhaps). To try to stay alive, play in Richelieu mode. For the T10, important to unlock the skills 10 with for example free exp, for use the 3 rapid reload more efficiently. With the historical camo, you have a range of 15.17 km on the République 😉

One of my personal favorites and it's pretty fun. Sometimes it's a mixed bag but I've had several games over 100k. I wonder if this is a preview to what the republique is🤔

Gascogne is a beast! Just did a 140k game in this fast Battleship! When in the right hands, deadly at long range and citadel monster around 8km (especially IJN)

Gascogne is probably a reference to the golf of Biscay ( Golfe de Gascogne in French ) known for it’s heavy, powerful and sometimes beautiful storms. It’s really something, when a big storm hits the French coast. + she really seems like a really fun ship. Does the gun layout of the Gascogne trains you for the République ?

She looks a lot like Roma. I love her already!

T7 euro tech tree?

I am painfully grinding my way to the Gascogne right now (currently at the Lyon), because I won a free set of Historic camo for the Black Gascogne some time in February I think, but couldn’t pull off the ship itself. So I wanted to get the ship the hard way to use the Camo when to my amazement I pulled the Normandie out of a “Mission” completed box (for doing daily missions). So now I am just 1 boat away to a free set of Camo worth 3500 gold I think? Or 4?

Hey, can you tell me if the French BB line is worth grinding? I'm currently kinda stuck on the Normandie. I feel like she dies too easily so are the other French BB's like this?

Told you the t10 is worth everything, first t10 i bought camo for! Gasco is mediocre, can shine but not consistently in most competitive tier Black version has same skills as republique But imo repu also needs maxed commander and camo

This thing is very fast. I have 23 tier 8 ships including the Gascogne.

Next is Alsace, which, using your own type of narrative, is "like a Richelieu with the back half of a Gascogne strapped on, with a La Gallissionierre strapped on top of that". When I began playing Gascogne, I wasn't consistently good at avoiding destroyer torpedoes. So I played it mostly at long range(but without the Main Battery Mod III). It didn't have good long range accuracy. Combine that with its poor armor, tendency to be set ablaze, and its attractiveness to carrier players, and I had some frustrating games. So, the Gascogne marked 2 important milestones for my time in WOWSB. It was my 1st-ever tier 8 ship, AND my 1st-ever tier 8 ship to be rage-sold! [Next was that God freaking awful Chapayev, with its terrible armor, combined with world's worst maneuverability!🤬😫😖]

French BBs run fast, deal damage fast and die fast. I found them least dangerous as opponents coz they only excel at mid range (long range bad dispersion, brawl thin armor and small caliber guns). IJN is a much better BB line in my opinion, Tier 5,6,7,8,10 stands strong in their respective tiers, while French only got one good ship at T10. (T5,7,9 are just horrible)
