World of Warships Blitz - Pan-Asian Destroyers 

Yeah, you've got to pick your fights in those things. I generally avoid going up against German DDs in anything, if I can find somewhere else to be. One thing I noticed is that often, other DDs will spend some time trying to aim their torps at me, which gives me free reign to use my guns (provided I can dodge their torp drops, which isn't that hard in a DD). I find that actually a bit of an advantage, since hitting DDs with torps is pretty tricky in higher tier games anyway.

I find it liberating, to a degree - I don't even need to waste time trying to aim torps. I take them on if I can, and just evade otherwise. I've had a Nicholas chase me from one end of the map to the other, trying to torp me, while I was dropping his BBs. He'd have been much more use to his team elsewhere. Cruisers are much more dangerous, but cruisers I can hurt :)

Which line is better? This or the Japanese line?

Ahoy, welcome aboard! The torp aiming cone is just following the lock-on, which you still need for guns, so yes, while it can be a bit confusing, it's part of learning the game. It also lets you lock onto a BB if you're in a DD and have AP loaded, even though that's probably a poor ammo choice :) Also, I often use the aiming cone to see which direction an enemy DD is heading if we're fighting around islands, so I'd be rather miffed if that went away. I'm on the NA server, Sydney / Australia timezone. Always happy to division up when I'm not currently recording. As for the history parts, it's a bit of a hobby of mine, and I was surprised that so many people find it interesting. Great to know :)

Probably it won’t be possible to division up because I play in the European server and time zone ( and the servers aren’t probably connected to each other) so it’s a shame. For the history part I absolutely love it because I wan’t to learn more about the sea battles and ships that fought for the pride of their country! )

Yeah, the servers are isolated, sorry. As a kid, growing up in Germany, I would watch lots of documentaries on WW2 (they were quite common on TV at the time) with original footage, and movies like "Tora Tora Tora" or "Das Boot". Did build a couple of plastic models as well. Then life got in the way, and I let it rest, but a couple of years ago, I just started reading up on WW2 battles again, out of curiosity both for the larger political context, and how it ties in with today's state of affairs, as well as for the "adventure" of it. For example, if you look at the current state of things in the Middle East, or in countries that used to be part of former colonial empires, it's hard to understand that without going back to WW1, at least. And let's be honest, while war and the associated destruction and loss of life is always a terrible mistake, there's a fascination with the weapons involved, the stories told etc.

​@@FunandGameswithTerry I was also born in Germany and in Hamburg, but now i live in France so i speak tree languages : German, French and English. ( i often switch the language on WOWBS because the crews don't speak the language of the ship nation like in World of warships). by the way i watched the movie Das Boot and i really liked it, even if the end was a bit sad ( wich unfortunately was the fate of a lot of of sailors ). To be honest, i came on WOWSB for the history of the ships and to learn more about them. I recently learned the fate of the Australian cruiser Sydney wich was very tragic and i hope that the crew rests in peace :( The war is terrible and i hope that we won't experience again such a thing, so we all have to try be nice to eachother. We are all equal humans after all. Do you still speak German ?

no no no. Thats going to break the game. If you play PC you know what I mean. The Kremlin is broken on PC and i don't really want that ship to come.

not every ship that's absolutely terrible or OP in PC is going to be the same in Blitz. We've got much shorter battles and somewhat simplified mechanics (angles, overmatch, citadel / torp damage proportionality etc). Take the Pensacola, for example. In PC, she's universally hated, in Blitz she's an absolutely workable tier 6 CA. Would e.g. a Smolensk break the game the same way she does on PC? Not sure. We already have some quite good HE spammers, but with the relatively small maps, there's always a chance to outflank.

I agree with Terry. I play blitz and PC. Well I used to play PC. I stopped because ships like the Kremlin and Smolensk complete broke the game. However blitz is very balanced in my opinion. I don't think a Soviet bb line could break blitz. Thanks to our simple game mechanics

Without overmatch Kremlin would be even more obscenely broken since Yamato wouldn’t even hold that advantage.

I'll get to that as well, just prioritising other lines atm. Too many things to grind :D

The other thing you can do is torp underneath your own teams' DDs, since they won't hit those, either. I find that torping DDs reliably only works in lower tiers, in higher tiers, I often don't bother, or just use the torps for area denial. The highest so far I've played with deepwaters is the Yudachi at tier 7, so we'll see how the PAs fare once I get to the higher ones.

The threat of torps is useful even if you never fire them. Any other dd can chase you around.

it is a disadvantage, but not as huge as it would feel initially, imo. It's like a BB trying to sink a DD at range with AP. Can be done, but there are more useful ways to use that limited resource. Same with torps - plus, I get an extra couple of salvos in every time they try to line up torps. Would I go DD hunting with deepwater torps? Probably not. But I'm not also as defenceless as it would initially seem.

I hate to say this there’s no Pan Asian battleships in pc or blitz

I hate to say it but there are. The only pan asian bb is "Bajie" its like izumo but better and its premium ship.

I'm pretty sure the British lines are going to show up. Unless, of course, they want to push out the Soviet lines first :)

Sure, ask away. The Zeppelin is an interesting CV for me, with the hard-hitting bombs and impressive gun range, but I find her hard to play still - I'm not that good of a CV driver (yet). What did you want to know?

Well...How aggressive can you play her? Does she has the armour for capping?...and I would also like to get her the camo..since in Real life I "Love" this ship...but is it worth it?...and last one....If she has good armour and guns...can you fight with DDs? Because I have this problem in my Hiryu...Independence....and I would really like to finally show the power of the CVs...and make the DDs run from me :)

I don't usually cap in a CV :) But if I was going to, it'd be in a Zeppelin. I had a game a while ago where the enemy one did that - I was back in base defending in my Nelson, and was rather surprised to find a Zeppelin rushing past me for the cap. Had to run after the bugger. She's no battleship, but quite sturdy. The guns are excellent against DDs. If I was in a destroyer, I'd be very careful to go toe-to-toe with one of those, 150mm German AP does hurt. I tend to just drop dive bombers on them, and otherwise steer the ship and use the guns. Of course, again, she's no cruiser or battleship, so if a DD knows what they're doing, they'll rush you and drop from close range, they'll probably sink you. But I'd rather be in her than in a Hiryu. I haven't played her for a while, but I can put a couple more battles out for fun, how about that?

Well USN DD are more versatile than Russian DD

I'll be playing up the line, I think. I've had heaps of fun in the Yudachi so far, so deepwater torps are definitely viable in tier 8 games (Yudachi can almost one-shot a Bismarck).

@@FunandGameswithTerry Yueyang is basically a smaller Gesring with radar and torps that deal around 60 less damage each than elite Shimakaze as well as having 30% flood chance

Harugumo has about same torp dmg with reload skill and much better firepower.. sure the smaller ones are more agile, but once your against good cv or minotaur that wont help all that much i guess, not really enjoying t10 anyways so i look for t6-7-8 ships of interest akizuki is my fav dd right now.. people say benson is better for skirmish.. but playing dd in skirmish.. thats like BDSM 😂 Highly doubt t8 deepwater is any better then akizuki but yet have to get there And for t6 the anshan is very fun.. fushun is same but better torps so a keeper for me 😄

US prices and AU prices don't necessarily align to currency exchange rates, but you should be able to see the price in-game.

Yeah I’m hoping they will follow the pc ideas of British battleships not just give them smoke because giving British battleships smoke make them look bad and the smoke is the worst ship skill a battleship fast reload that’s okay for British battleships and I’m okay with that the smoke hell no hell bloody no thank you also we need more capitals

The Duke has smoke, among the premiums. Also, David Beatty has an improved mist weaver skill - maybe that's so he's useful on the CL line, but could be a hint towards smokes. I wonder if we have a "fire from smoke" penalty like in PC, or if it's "ship's in smoke, can't see them". There certainly is proximity detection, and I actually found my smokes to be somewhat unreliable recently.

It really depends on the tiers you play. Upper tier games can get pretty challenging - the one thing I'd love to see is more weight on leagues, and get people from similar leagues together, although it isn't as bad as it was once.

Should be the Gnevny's guns, but without the reload booster.

@@FunandGameswithTerry the 130mm guns on fushun should do better. Sure AP gets me over 400 damage but the performance is not what I would expect. The HE rounds seem to lack the punch needed. I get plenty of "shatters" if you want to call it that. Yay 100 damage....

I'll have to do some comparisons, haven't played the Gnevny in a while, but I remember her guns to be rather effective, true. Possible that it's not the same on the PA one, the game isn't necessarily consistent with two guns of the same type performing in the same way.

@@FunandGameswithTerry gotta look close at the model of guns used. Sure something could be a 127 but it won't perform the same as another 127 because the model is different.

@@FunandGameswithTerry take the tier 5 and 6 US destroyers. Both have 127mm guns but the model is different on both. Tier 5 has 127mm L36/ M7 the 6 has 127 L36 / M12. Performance will differ from each other due to being different guns even tho they are the same caliber.

damn, really? I thought this was just a lower-tier issue.... well, guess we're going to have some fun then, for a while, until everyone has gotten the hang of it :)

@@enzoluisasuncion3621 Top 10 player in leauge? Hmmm there are a few good players in the leauge leaderboard but a lot of them are decent at best. They only got their trophies since they had the ability to play a lot
