GG, Derka! I’m all in on Sa as well. One thing worth mentioning is the very long torp reload. Even if you went with Deng and used every perk to buff the torp reload, it would still be worse than stock USN torp reload, so I buy into the weapons that I can use the whole match: the guns. But, at least you won’t be spec-torping or smoke-torping as much, so you can hold onto your fish for a more calculated strike. I’ve played the whole line and have 100k elite XP in Hsienyang at T7. Meta is right. Gadjah Mada is the jewel of the line. Her rear turret doesn’t spin 360° like Jervis, but she still has the fantastic forward firing angles.

Good information. Some things to think about. I think by tier five a gunboat build works best. BTW. I have one 16/4 commander. Cunningham is a given inspiration on most of my BBs. Back a year or more ago he was on all of them, so it was practical to upgrade him.

The way I see it, Gunboat captain brings an extra 8% gun reload and ‘twist n track’ that helps gun traverse only needed on a couple ships in the line. The torp commander can match him in every other area and has a better base trait, plus he has strong buffs for torps. My conclusion is if you choose not to debuff your guns with the torp commander, you are only loosing out on 8% gun reload as a significant perk. I chose to invest in torp commander.

I am not a fan of deep water torps so far, but I have only made it to tier 4. Every match seems to have 5 DD's and most, if not all of them are in divisions, so it is impossible to "outgun" them as a solo player. Maybe it will get better as I get the higher tier ships and the "new" wears off where there aren't so many in every game. However, it has been nice grinding the other DD tech trees because I can nuke you with torps rather than trying to gun you down. I see a lot of potential, but this line is not my current priority for commander resources or time allocations to grind through. GG too, very nice!!

Yeah I agree , the deep water torpedos are useless against dds so your really need good guns to defend yourself , although a max built Deng + Al atago as inspiration + knuckle perk gets you almost invisible torps ( can be very strong in ranked/arena)

Thank you for the video. Just grinded to the Gaga Mama tier 6 and have been using Sa, the gunboat commander. I have all 3 commanders at 11L1. Which one have you found best for tier 6? Would you use Deng for the Yolang? TIA

I have the gunboat commander and the Asien dewey and hes better than the pure gunboat commander only tnt is not on dewey. Better concelment with dewey. But none of them full upgraded yet, dewey= better fire chance and concelment. Gunboat commander =tnt. Plus tnt alert enemy that you are close. Good video derka, thanks.

With both my stealth build commanders at max, getting up close for torpedoes should be quick work for me.

I am going up the US DD line atm. At the tier 5 Mahan now, came across multiple PA DDs that didn't get the memo that their deep water torps can't hit other DDs.

Lo yang is the best in my opinion

Funny enough it's not commander xp or insignias hecks it's not even the legendary tickets it's literally promotion orders that lock people out of getting high commanders we definitely need more I say at the very least 50% more a week

I'll stick with USN for gunboats, and IJN for torpedo boats. I'm not a fan of this new line so far. T7 looks the most promising.
