July 4th, USN BBs - target practice for everyone else. Worst insult WG could have done this year, really turned me off the game and I have yet to see them fix it enough to make me want to go back. The fact that the PREMIUM is even lacking really isn't convincing me otherwise.

So this is another ship that never existed. I knew the "modern" USS Florida was a sub so I looked into the WWI Florida battleship. Yup. This ship is fake news.

CVs are trash, always have been and always will be. I and many others told WG back in closed testing (I played from Alpha through release) they had a disproportionate influence on a battle such that if your CVs were not as good as the enemy's you'd almost certainly lose the battle (CV sniping was common back then). Also told them that at low tiers they needed at the very least to give ships AA that could shoot a plane or two down, and they could rebalance squadron sizes to achieve the same effect as nobody having AA. Why? For the PSYCHOLOGICAL effects. As it was, people were getting the ever loving sh** kicked out of them by CVs and they couldn't even fight back. CVs would obviously be compared with arty in WoT (and we all know how popular THEY were, especially those of us who played from the days of Beta in 2010), PLUS the first time new players are exposed to them they'll find there's nothing they can do (other than to "dodge" or "get gud" as the CV mains used to say, and we know how much BS that was). WG of course didn't listen. At best they listened to some Russian players back then but nobody else from what I could see. My final prediction was "WG will never balance CVs effectively so they're both fun to play, including being reasonably effective while not OP, but also NOT intolerable for everyone else to play against. Either they'll remain stupidly OP which everyone other than CV players will hate (they were OP as hell back at time of release) OR they'll get nerfed to irrelevance, which everyone will love except CV players who put time and effort into learning them." Was I incorrect? Are they balanced according to what I wrote years ago in Beta testing?
