World of Warships - How Do I Play Iowa? 

One of the best things about the Iowa and Missouri is that they are real ships, with a history, and you can still see and even explore then.

How to play Iowa: Long answer: It’s a fast ship, put the speed flag on it. Try to look for opportunities where you can rush through with your speed. If there isn’t an opportunity, just sit back and snipe with your guns. Bow tank as much as possible when rushing unless you are rushing an Alsace or a cruiser. Short answer: just get the Georgia Super short answer: just play Montana

Thank you for this Video IChase. I see way to many players play the Iowa like it's a GK or FDG or even a Kremlin and what usually happens? They get waxed in the first five minutes.

I play Iowa a lot. I honestly like it more than Montana. Montana is definitely the superior ship, but there is something about being able to travel 33 knots, use that 12.7 km concealment, and just blap them from the flanks. This ship is very unforgiving if you overextend. Use that speed and concealment!

American line still going strong in 2020, unlike a certain other line *cough* Kriegsmarine.

Decent ship - but her and Missouri definitely need a reload buff. Nine shells with awful shell velocity isn't enough in this day and age.

Player : How to play Iowa? WG : Buy Georgia and use 18 inch gun and engine boost.

I just unlocked mine and I'm surprised how much more effective it is coming from NC. Those guns are razor accurate at any distance and staying a bit back armor is working fine. The only downside is how sluggish rudder is, but other wise is really easy to play.

Love when toxic people call out Kill Steals, when in some cases it's coordinated assault. LOL it's not about who kills, it's about winning the match.

Don't forget to use the mods that eliminate the water splash and other ambient effects so you can see more than others.

Man I don't know why but the Iowa just feels like a pain to play... It eats pens from almost anything and the dispersion is a little wonky. The guns hit hard when they are given the opportunity, but I've had too many Ibukis walk away from showing broadside at 14km. It's a speedy ship and allows me to rotate quick, but those guns are just so.... eh.

I went to the USS New Jersey during my 2020 summer vacation

After playing germans for a long time, coming back to the American line is brutal... I felt like today the 1stvfew games in my Monty, I couldn't hit water if I fell off my boat.

I would probably say that the Iowa is actually not as badly powercrept as others would think. Iowa is a pretty solid and versatile battleship with no fancy gimmick to handicap it. It's fast, hard-hitting, can bow-tank, has great AA and decent concealment.

I wish players would understand that a ship that has been power crept does not mean it's completely garbage and unplayable. It just means that you have to work a little harder to get the best out of your ship. It won't be as easy as the newer ships where some you just sail, park, point, and click and boom huge damage *COUGHS* Newer Soviet ships *COUGHS*.

Mind do a video on how to play graf zeppelin? Since Wg add many heavy AA ship and they nerf the AP bomb dmg of her from 7000 to 5600. Even though she only got 2 bomb per atk.

How do I play zao?, am I am HE spammer or use AP as much as possible, am I a torpedo cruiser or do I ignore them, do I stay behind islands or gunboat and face down overmatch these days? It would be great to see an updated guide on the zao in the current meta

Haven't bought this ship yet though I do have it researched. A bit worried that subs will riggity wreck BB gameplay. I have a georgia and a republique already too, so I don't know if it would be worth blowing half of my silver to get another ship of the same flavor.

My best game in the Iowa is 177k. My best game in the Georgia is 285k. Idk. My biggest issue with the american battleships is that they just dont have the pen at high tier to do damage consistently to anything that isnt flat braodside. While the other nations bbs have a penetration value good enough to deal with angled targets. Now im not expecting every ship in the game to LOLPEN but from a historic standpoint the Us 406MM are drastically misrepresented. These shells had more pen than Yamato outside 17km. I'm of the opinion they should scrap Slava and give these ships that type of accuracy profile. At least you have a chance to dodge the american shells

Was a horrible player until I watched your videos. Improving dramatically after watching your videos. My question is, I play brawler BBs, and usually go to WEAK side when playing game. Is this a silly thing to do?

I just put on Midway from Sabaton, full speed into enemies while firing 1 salvo which misses. I get set on fire by the filthy degenerate pepegabrained firespammers and then i lose all hype and quit the game.

Enemy alaska just hid behind the furthest island late game :D

One side side story in your video - the Dmitri Donskoi on your team chasing unicorns (disengaging toward the opposing carrier's last known position) and instead finding an Alaska. I expect the Alaska was on low health, although we see full health ships hiding behind islands most of the game also. Would have been an interesting confrontation if the game had lasted longer. I watched this again - I put a captain on my Iowa to catch the seasonal "snowflake", a bit of "steel," and did not have a good time. So, got some ideas and will try again. I prefer playing "real" ships despite the fact that paper is much stronger than steel at the high tiers. The message I am getting is that a power-crept battleship is functionally a battle cruiser and should be played accordingly. Iowa is a bit awkward for a battle cruiser, but at least she does have some speed.

Also did you know that the Iowa was modeled after the Missouri! That means the two ships are sisters. Except one has bigger guns. And the Iowa still sails when the Navy needs to scare off the enemy.

Nice game,.. I've been playing since Christmas 2019 and never gotten that many kills, but then I don't play BB's. I'm more into cruisers & DD's. My problem I think was I played Co-opp to long, at least 1/2 a year, thinking if I got good there my transition to random would be easy. However, I did not realize that Random was a different game and had much harder maps and not easy to play, and till present I'm still getting used to Random, learning what other ships are like as well as my own. There are so many premium ships out now, they are not even listed in Wow's Wiki, and I believe are ships that WOW's simply dreamed up. The person with the most money or doubloons or free XP gets the better ship, while people grinding the Tech Tree have to be very careful playing their ships against a lot of the premium ships that are now out for sale in the armory, or at least that is my opinion.
