Holy Hood, Thanks for the Feature Jingles!

You may not think your stories are all that interesting, jingles, but to the rest of us, it is interesting to hear about your time in the navy and your experiences. Never change old man, we love you the way you are.

HMS Hood is still one of my favourite ships in the game. Despite the massive nerf of AA to the point it is useless I still fondly remember the days of the Hood utterly OBLITERATING entire waves of CV planes like it was nothing. People complained about the armour being lacking, like it's a Battlecruiser... what did you expect? Stop playing it like a BB, it's not a BB. She was the perfect T7 kiting ship.

I love that 3 years later at least half of every video is dedicated to railing against how broken CV's are. keep doing gods work man!

Actually Jingles the T92 in WoT if anything would've fired a 240mm AP shell at you and not a 155mm 😋

Whether it's the carrier's direct damage or spotting that DDs need to fear depends primarily on the carrier's teammates and secondarily on the carrier's skill. The DD's skill barely enters the equation.

I like to pose the "Carrier vs Battleship" issue like this: Imagine if the Yamato had magical siege mortars for guns, so it can fire over/past all cover. Now imagine that the shells from those guns could be remotely guided, directly down your throat. But it's OK, because the control cuts out just before the shells reach your front teeth... So you can just dodge it from there, right?? Yeah... Right.

Actually Jingles it wasnt 'Goal Lazio' it was 'Golaccio' which i think is like 'good goal' or 'fantastic goal'

Three days ago, I partially tore the Phalangeal flexor tendons in my right hand ring and middle finger in a horrific goalkeeping accident. Now facing the real possibility of needing surgery on both fingers and a whopping 12 week recovery time (physiotherapy not included). These jingles videos really help me feel the pain less, laughter is the best pain medication. His voice is so soothing, I listen to him when I can’t fall asleep as well, and sleep like a baby. Injury details (not for the squeamish): Free kick from roughly 19 m. The kicker hit an excellent curveball that was going to the top right corner. I met it with an equally good save, except for one thing. I judged my position slightly wrong. The impact between the ball and my hand caused my hand to be deflected directly onto the crossbar. My fingers impacted the bottom of the crossbar fingertips first, and I immediately felt the bones in my middle finger popping out, and overlapping. After the teeth gnashing pain had passed, I discovered I couldn’t move the first joint on my ring and middle finger, and took a video of it. When I showed the video to my doctor he turned white as a ghost. And now here I am, giving Vulcan salutes to everybody I see 😅.

I used to enjoy WOWS, then WG introduced the carrier changes, making them almost impossible to counter, and then introduced submarines, WG have managed to suck all of the fun out of the game.

One of my favorite Royal Navy Battle cruisers that I have in my Royal Navy collection.

Got my very first Solo Warrior in a game with Maltese Knight on the other team...of course, he was the high XP earner in the game, with just over 2,000 in his Bismarck. Didn't know it was him until I saw the after action reports. I think he was playing competitively for O7 at the time.

Was playing a game the other day in Renown 44 and got put in a match with two rangers. Managed to get in gun range of both of them managed to get the AA award and still got sunk by carrier air without being able to kill either of them. CVs are just a bit OP

Having never played this game in the entirety of its existence I have felt some measure of grief at where the game is now. All that aside, I've always enjoyed the commentary given by Jingles. We all need a good laugh and his laughter is properly contagious.

At 8:56 of this clip, jingles performed his best impression of the Ed McMahon laugh!!

I just watched Malta about 2 minutes ago, with his Hi DD dmg of all time, in the Dalarna. He's kind of fun to watch.

That poor T-22 I feel his pain. When ever I play DD I end up like him but when I play AC I couldn’t hit the board side of the barn form the inside.

Football Italia on channel 4, I used to do my homework to that jingles, mostly because they were showing the only 1-0 or 1-1 game which were very slow affairs .

I love when umcle Jungles complains about carriers but at the same time has an opening animation showing like ten of this buggers releasing aircraft at the same time.

Best I could find about the Lazo, and I could definitely be wrong here, is that there’s this thing I learned about pronouncing Russian words where an O will sometimes be pronounced Oh and sometimes Ah, depending on where it lies in the word. Already thinking to myself that this might be the case, I came across an actual project 68 ship (the ship class Wargaming says the Lazo is based on) and found the “Admiral Lazarev” which starts with Laza both in English and Cyrillic spelling. Which, to me, enforces my idea that it’s pronounced Laza like “Lah-zah” but what the heck do I know. 😄

Well played to both our protagonist and the Giant Enemy CV. I’d be willing to bet he had a mission to kill DDs and there’s nothing better to target a ship type than a carrier. Or was just a good player that knows DDs win games.

Playing WoW while listening to Rear Admiral Jingles, such fun. And a great reference to the GOOOOOAAAL LAZIOOOOOOO Italian TV from our younger days :)

I don't play anymore, but I do miss playing the Hood. She was my favorite ship.

We all love story time with Jingles.

I'm not that much of a fan of football, but during the 90's, Brazilian television covered Italian football leangue, but when you're in Brazil, weather you like it or not you're going to end up watching a lot of football.

And the Hood is always nice to meet up with the Bismarck.

Hey, Jingles could be everyone's Navy Grandfather who constantly goes on about stories like Italian Football and how it relates to Lazo, a Russian cruiser. Even if you heard it 20+ times, it never gets old, frankly I enjoy hearing your stories Jingles, even if you might not see this, know at least you have 1 who enjoys your stories in these videos, and I've been watching you since 2012..very first video I believe was the Type 59 video on World of Tanks, loved you then, still love you now! I got the Hood out of a Free Christmas crate a few years ago. I do quite like her although I rarely play her. WeeGee has been very generous in the last week. Out of Christmas crates I've got Exeter, Champagne and Huanghe without spending a penny. Plus Gallant and Napoli for Coal. It's been a good few days.

MalteseKnight and Nord_66 (the enemy CV) carried their respective teams so hard they both need back surgery after that. If it hadn't been for them I think this match could have been a World of Potatoes video.

Here is a change WG could make. Only Spotter planes can make enemy ships visible to the friendly team. That way carriers can still see targets with their planes but won't display them for other people on the carrier's team. Players will be able to see the carriers planes attacking something but will have to blind fire in order to hit the enemy ship.

That misuse of the damage control at 14:14 is what caused his death basically. Only 1 fire and knowing he potentially had the DD torps on his way. But well, the match was over so...

Honestly i like the way War Thunder made Naval Aviation a lot more, though I wish it was cheaper to spawn planes at top tier. Theres essentially two ways to play planes in naval: High risk - fly a maneuverable dive bomber or torpedo bomber to hit a ship from medium-short range. Easy to account for enemy maneuvers, you have to evade AA though, with a few hits downing you. Low risk: take a medium or heavy bomber and climb above 4km, bitting you out of range of medium aa. Drop bombs with the bomb sight and pray that you gave enough lead and the enemy doesnt turn out in the 30+ seconds the bombs take to drop.

I still think the CV rework rather made CV's more broken as they already were in the old RTS system rather than fix them. I preferred the old RTS system myself. As a carrier player atleast you had manual control over you fighters so you could actually try to shield your allies from the enemy carrier. Also in the old system enganging the attack planes with fighters, catapult fighters or with defensive AA consumable would always max scatter the attack, making them miss you or in case of torpedoes create big gaps to navigate between, thus enabling some additional defense against air drops. And that is not even taking the new CV weapons bullshit into calculations, like rockets, AP rockets and skip bombers. Yes cross dropping was a problem on higher tiers, as was spotting all over the map with like 5 plane squads active on higher tiers but those specific things could be handled on their own rather than breaking the whole system. Crossdropping was enabled by the fact that player controlled drops in the RTS system became available at higher tiers. Just disableing that feature and letting the AI control attack flights (which was way slower on consecutive drops) could have solved the issue. Spotting all over the map could be handled by disableing the CV exact spotting information being spread directly to the whole team. Enabling just the CV to see everything on the exact location. Maybe just send out a map sector ping location warning to the rest of the team if a ship is spotted.

To be fair, Loewenhardt has some of the best dive bombers for hitting DDs, the "nosebleed" bombers that are common to German CVs have too be virtually directly on top of something to even start the dive (very useful when something may not show up until your planes are right on top of the target), and the Loewenhardt, unlike the tech tree KM CVs, has HE bombs, so no overpens on small targets.

I got my Hood in a Santa container that I earned after completing the Christmas Battlepass that had the Scharnhorst '43. I literally jumped out of my chair, If I couldve only had one moment of RNGesus looking down on me and saying yes, that was it.

Hood and Alabama are def my 2 favorite premium ships, and Iowa is my fav tech tree ship. Bama’s AA (even after all the nerfing) is still great, and Hood is deadly if played by the right person as demonstrated

Actually jingles (always wanted to say that) it wasn't go lazio in the credits - it was their equivalent of 'what a goal' james Richardson who hosted the show talked about it on fantasy football league back in the day :) will go back to lurking now :)

I don't like carriers in game either (unless I'm in a naval plane myself but different game than this) but everytime Jingles complains about them is like he's simply listing the wonderful real world advantages of carrier warfare. Even considering irl planes can actually be shot down = P

You remember the bad old days with arty in WoT where a tier 10 arty could land a shot within a square mile of your tank and do splash for half damage?

Believe it or not, I miss the old CVs RTS style. Yeah, it was brutal to play ships like the lower tier US BBs that had little to no AA and were too slow to dodge, but playing something with good AA was fun because even if I sucked as a player, I could still be useful and escort the bigger ships. And itd actually fucking work to stop or mitigate incoming air attack.

And the word of the day is 'clapped'.

I think of the Soccer series with Ted Lasso when I see the Russian Cruiser.

Uuuhm, Jingles..... Artillery actually has AP again

Oh no jingle torpedoes make perfect sense. They are Semi-active Sonar Homing. This means as long as the sub is alive, and keeps pinging the target they home. The torpedoes lack their own "ping" system, but can hear the returns of the subs ping... if the sub switches targets the torps should switch targets too as long as the new ping is in the cone of sight of the receiver. that being said, yeah, there's a reason they didn't do this in reality, as everyone would know where the attacking sub is.

The Lazo (soviet ship) is probably named after the Soviet officer Sergey Gregorovich Lazo who fought the White movement, Americans and Japanese in the Far East 1918-1920.
