Oh yes, I am getting me one of those tier X german DDs. I have AFT on my Farragut and it's hilarious to be able to shoot at anything up to 15.1km away (albeit with some of the worst shell travel times you can imagine, like 12.5s at that range). My invisifire buffer is about 4 km at least. This thing is going to be... hilarious. Hopefully they don't nerf it. I am going to grind up this line hardcore for sure.

I think that the fact that you can choose at a certain point how to play the ship and not having to get used to its playstile is pretty darn good and interesting, wish we could do it in other ships/branches too

these new dds make IJN dds more and more obsolete, don't you think? IJN dds are like USN cruisers or bbs, they just don't do anything that other nations ships can't do. Also, German dds get hydro in addition to speed boost, while US get defensive AA in place of speed boost, kind of unfair. The power creep in this game is so blatant.

I found these destroyers to be absolute nightmares and perfect examples of powercreep. They're just cruisers, except without what makes a cruiser good.

A lot of RN cruiser captains are getting very happy in their pants. So many German DDs with those 150mm guns...food...

That huge stealth firing buffer is pretty interesting since WG stated they not satisfied with stealth firing and even considering removing it, and bang 6kms of stealth fire lol

The letters in the name of early German Destroyers designate the Imperial Naval dockyards where they were built. G = Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerft. V = AG Vulcan Stettin...... etc. The WW II German DDs had the "Z" designate ... short for Zerstörer (destroyer)

Oh god that t10 is a monster... my life as an IJN DD player (Yugumo currently) looks like its going to get even more difficult. I suppose dodging other nations DDs is already part of the game but this beast has hydro as well, AHHHHHH!!!!!

wow just the German line. now the only ship missing is the German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. would be cool to have it as an primium.... keep up the good work

The 150mm guns did cause problems to their sea worthiness and both weight and stability problems

Hi iChase. Thanks for the previews. I'm looking forward to these ships. A mention of the turret turn rates would have been good. From what I glimpsed the mid tiers are low to mid 20 seconds and the higher tiers are 10 seconds. That will impact the play style for the ships. Thanks again.

personally, I need to be running the speed booster Commander skill for a lot of these Destroyers. I mean, come on! Who wouldn't want 70 knot torpedoes!? :D

who's brilliant idea was it that the 150mm cruiser guns shouldn't have higher range than the 128mm dd guns? btw they're probably going to nerf the tier 10 (but not until people have spent a bunch of cash on free xp to get it of course).

z52... yeah the game really needed more long range sniping ships at 16 km (irony). every release this year has been a sniping ship, ship with hydro or smoke,. interesting close range fights are dead, and i hate that.

That's it, I'll be selling my Gearing the moment I get over tier 8 with this new line. After the Soviet DDs got in Gearing started to feel a bit underpowered, now it will be almost useless. Shima is a much better torpedo boat, the Soviets have way better gunboats and this Z-52 will be a much stronger and flexible "generalist".

WW2 German DDs were really huge. Almost to the size of CLs from other nations

German DDs make Japanese DDs obsolete, like German BBs made American BBs obsolete. I love the Kriegsmarine! So glad I invested in them since the cruiser line so I don't look like a poser.

so what im getting from the stats is that the german DD's are basically the final nail in the coffin for IJN DD's not being relevant any more. RIP IJN Captains, might as well sell my yuugumo now

They are equal to or better than other DDs ... plus they also get hydro ... so they are clearly superior across the board? Why so imbalanced? They need to have a built-in weakness to compensate, but they don't.

So, to make it short: german DDs from T VI onwards are mostly playing like the "american-style" russian cruisers? Gremy, Leningrad and Anshan? Not the worst choice and way more fun than those torpedo-spamming DDs of the IJN.

honestly though....there is not a single bad T10 ship except shima and midway. and once DDs learn how to deal with hydro, german DD's advantage quickly goes away(just like turtleback advantage goes away as soon as BBs learn not to CQC with german BB). im very looking forward to z46, almost identical concealment/gun/torp spec to the fletcher

Man, are we sure that WG (or at least the WoWS dev team) isn't based in Berlin? Cause that Russian bias looks a lot more like German bias to me. Seriously, they have the best BBs, decent CAs, and the best all-around DDs. Gearings don't have that sort of range or shell velocity, much less a free hydro (US DDs have to give up speed boost to get Defensive Fire). Such balance. Much fun.

come to think of it... does 'rudder shift angle' of each ship are same or different? rudder shift time mean how fast you start turning, not how wide they are. but rudder shift angle is direct effect to how wide turning radius is right? and rudder shift angle also effect speed drop when turning too.

what would you chose for a destroyer line

What are the shell ballistics like on these German DDs? Are they like the USN DDs shells, going orbital B4 landing, when you have the 128s? If you have the 150s are they like the Cleveland's shell arcs? Or are they like the VFM DDs with the nice flat trajectory and fast shell speed

Looks like Z-52 will get nerfed in the fashion of losing range module... Well it could not be... but I think it's just too powerful with AFT+range extension kit... Just my opinion

I am not so sure I like what I see here. Sure the ships seem mostly great and that is what I guess most people want. But I do NOT want them to be too great. It seems to me that power creep is just starting to come. I feel sometimes that new ships seem to make older lines obsolete or just not nearly as powerfull, really hope that they do something about it and takes note. Then again, maybe I am wrong and it will all turn out okay, but I still really worry. Especially considering on EU we have a HUGE problem allready with German BB being WAY too overpressented. I want varried line ups, not some "master nation" taking over everything. No idea what WG deal is, but Axis powers seem WAY too overpressented, only NA has an okay US presentation, probably because of the cultural backage. Either way, hope I am wrong and it all turns out fine, but I really fear :(

That max range for Z-52 is impractical. What use is it? You will have issues even hitting battleships at that range, unless of course they are those silly people sitting still bow in playing the static game, at which point I can only say 'GOOD!'. It's going to look really impressive, but it is going to be more like Atlanta with AFT. Also, at that range you are wasting your Hydro capability. I wouldn't go for that build. She can stealth AA though, which is a nice novelty and is likely to annoy CV players... when you meet them that is. But it is very likely to be nice against catapult fighters... if they are spotted at range (they are themselves pretty stealthy). Again, dubious value, looks impressive.

Z-52 is going to get nerfed to death in the next patch, the ship literally makes no sense. If they nerfed the Khabob which had pretty much identical stats, then they'll destroy this thing as well soon enough.

This is useless. You are not showing any optional modules, which drastically change things like artillery range and torpedo range. I don't care if the original torp range is 6km if the upgraded range is 8. I don't care if original artillery range is 9km if an upgrade makes it 10 and thus allow concealed shelling. Why are you just regurgitating the stats that everyone can see anyway? We can read, you know?

I will try to predict the future. After metric ton of whining and begging and screaming OP OP, WG will nerf the living crap of Z-52.
