The moaner. Gets themselves in a stupid position, dies within 5 minutes then says "Worst team ever."

The grump: similar to the yolo but when they die, (usually in the first 5 minutes), they spend the rest of the match raging in the chat and telling other players how to play the game

The lagger: plays on a bad laptop takes 5 minutes to join a game but has good manners

The memer: his favourite map is two brothers while in a battleship

The Backstabbing Torp Monster. Sees enemy ship. Launches all torpedoes. Hits allied BB that couldn't maneuver out of the way in time because he wasn't expecting torpedoes to come from behind. Blames BB he hit.

The Streamer: Usually is a unicum. His main hobbies include streaming and streaming this game only. He’s in it for the money not the science. His favorite tier is T10. He usually is European. Is a CC and makes videos showcasing how fun a particular ship is which leads it to getting nerfed by WG. And he somehow feels the need to not take credit for getting the ship nerfed into the ground.

you missed the Commander : dies in the first 3 minutes and yells at everyone what to do ....

You forgot me: the potato. Ground his way up to tier 9 playing mostly co-op, and then wonders why he sucks in random.

you forgot the sideswiper: the ones who run in front of a larger less maneuverable ship on their own team with a dd or light cruiser then get mad when you plow into them cause of course your yammy going at 20+ knots should be able to stop instantly so their daring,kleb etc can pass 200 feet in front of your bows cause god help them they cant turn they gotta line up those torps then of course my personal favorite the smoke invader: the usually BB who feels that smoke screen youlaid to break LOS with an enemy is for them and they drive into it at full speed and shove your DD out and right into the guns of the enemy

About those whales: they allow the free to play crowd to actually play this game. A big thanks to them !

How about the spectator (aka the "silent witness"): He's in your team, and he is not alone. Whenever you try to do anything meaningful, like getting a cap, defending a cap, pushing against a weak flank - he's right there behind you, watching you burn. He won't play the objective if his life depends on it, has a way faster ship than you, and he'll use that speed advantage to abandon your wreck right after your final volley, giving up the position he and his fellow other 3-5 spectators could have easily handled, because they had the strength in numbers... Occasionally turns to the "captain backstabber"-type when you are in his torpedo range, but the enemy isn't.

The Admiral: spends more time in chat trying to tell other people what to do, is usually blapped early because they are typing more than driving the ship.

the salty Veteran: He has several thousend Battles played and enjoys a Winrate of 56% ore more. He will give the Orders to his Teammates and then expect them to follow them exectly as he had them in Mind. Sometimes he send a Teammate to kill 5 Enemy Ships all by his own. And that Guy better does what he wants or the Veteran will look up his Stats. And he should never argue with the Veteran or some Insults will be flying back at him while playing and after the Game in Port as well. Every Player that does not have the Skill Level can leave the Game. Roockie CV-Players in Particular.

Nice! There is one I call the "Taco Bell". That is the guy that sees one red ship 25 km away and makes a run for the border. Then there is the "French Dip" He does not have to be in a French ship... he just surrenders 2 or 3 minutes into the game and announces that "We have already lost anyway" Then there is his cousin the "French Resistance" He holds back behind you without firing a shot just waiting for you to have an enemy ship down to its last breath and then gets the kill as if he made it happen.

The clicker, clicks on the map like a madman where to go, dies as first. Than complains about the team sucks.

Me: shit at the game but still has a load of fun.

the Weeb: when someone charging at him, he will probably chat "Hoh you're approaching me? Instead of running away?"

The Cruiser Master Race: Experienced cruiser player who has ground out most CA lines, knows how to use both HE AND AP correctly, knows decent positioning and supports the BBs and DDs. We have no flaws. At least, we like to *think* we have none.

The KSer: After chipping down large amount of enemy's hp and you're about to deliver the final blow, some random dude [who's been hiding behind the island or some other friendly ships] decide to pot shot your prey before you score a kill.

The Try Hard: Fun?...it's winning that matters . " How dare you noobs disrespect my serious bote game!"

Slava vs Yamato: At least the Yamato can bow tank all battleships except for itself and Musashi. Type 6: The Unicum (Unicorn?) This player knows his ship AND your ship inside and out. He knows what to look for when determining what modules you're running, and knows how to best use his ship to blap the crap out of your ship. Positioning is always on point and will put himself in the best spot to help the team win. He usually is a part of clans that have reached Typhoon at minimum. Winrate above 65%, PR approaching OVER 9 THOUSAND. If you see this guy in a match, you had better hope he's on your team or on the opposite side of the map from you.

These are the big ones I see: 1.) Fast-Edge-Seeker: Starts the war going as fast as he can to the edge of the map, he lives in complete fear of cross fire, but yet his goal in life is to create one for his opponent. 2.) Rock-Dweller: Starts the war going sideways, finds an island to hide behind. AND NEVER MOVES FROM BEHIND THAT ISLAND AGAIN. Hides there and hopes enemies come in single file for him to hit. 3.) Kill-Stealer: He will hold firing until somewhere in his range someone else gets an enemy ship down to low HP, then he will fire at it at the perfect time to hit ONLY ONE VOLLEY but steal the kill. In randoms a good percentage of idiots are kill stealers, in Coop 99% of all players are this class. It is up to the 1% that are non-kill-stealers to do ALL the heavy lifting for the battle. 4.) Total absolute wimp: This type of player ONLY plays games that have a total-BS-un-counterable class. Luckily currently WG has one, its CVs. If CVs ever get balanced properly this type of looser will leave the game forever and find a game he can have an ultra-unfair-advantage over his opponents.

Among the worst are the ones that run at the first sight of the enemy, usually in BB's. Had a match in my Algerie a couple weeks back on Fault Line. Spawned in on the north side and turned right to support A-cap. Me, a DD and another 2 cruisers were contesting and just as 1 of the cruisers and DD died, a pair of Kongos arrived. Instead of supporting me and the other cruiser in pushing, the Kongo pair turned tail and ran for the border (up to the A-line and eventually west) back to the spawn area. Realizing the Kongo's were a pair of cowards, I began retreating as the other cruiser started getting focus-fired knowing I was next if hung around. The Kongo pair ignored multiple assistance calls and messages to get into the fight from me and other teammates. They ran as far as the island at B8 before turning around. By that time our team had won the C and B caps and only 2 or 3 reds remained. I ended up dying to a New York while taking about 10k of it's hp that came up the A-cap, doing 75k total damage. The Kongo pair ended the match by sniping (and missing with 2/3 of their shots) the New York that had 2/3 hp remaining.

Worth mentioning is another type! The Ignorer! All what he cares is himself and only himself. He doesnt care what their teammates are doing. The teammates tell him to go back.. pff he won't listen, you tell him to not go on the flank, he will go there and probably won't be effective at all. Even if you and others ping him 10 times he will ignore. Usually he/they play in a division and care for their individual fun and selfishness either to go where they like and ignore team and farm an useless ship. Usually ends in a loss :(

The Pristine Ship driver. Hides behind islands the entire match so they don't get their paint scraped. Derides the rest of the team for dying.

I think there's way too many players who watch a video on how to play, and then assume that particular way of playing should always be done no matter what.

I'm a delayed German BB yolo player with a touch of the collector for reward ships. Very rarely buy a ship outright. I delay my push until I can see how the battle is playing out, then push in letting the golden shower of secondaries drench panicking DDs and CA's. Very satisfying :)

The BB main: owns nothing but them, and complains about how BB's have it the hardest in the game. They also wish fire and flooding didn't exists or wants them massively nerfed.

The undecided: he doesn't know wtf to grind through and always ends up ruining his whole account (running out of credits, signals, camos...) and, trying to fixing that, creates TONS of other accounts and ruins them all because of his undecision (it's me :P)

lol +1 for the speaker breaking raspberry, gj . A lot of these categories fit in and are the life cycle of a skipper...well minus the ones that involve a credit card..that's a case by case.

Yolo-er right here, love close quarters combat with battleships and getting that sweet 1-3km broadside on anything with a citadel. To me I feel like if I have an opportunity to deal a whack to the other team in a short amount of time, I’d rather do that than sit at long range and hoping my oddly inaccurate guns hit something every 20-30 seconds. And yes BBs get melted unrealistically, Bourgogne I’m looking at you...

The "whale" fit you very well Sir. Considering the insane amount of money you are putting in the game. But this was by far the most funny video you ever did!

Stop us - Go us: This player can be in either a battleship or a cruiser. He wants to help his team by playing aggressively, but he over commits and gets focus fired by four or more enemy ships. He's afraid of giving broadside so he stays bow in, but can't decide whether to continue to charge forward or back up, and does a bit of both and becomes an XP pinata for the enemy team. Sometimes you can take advantage of his plight by flanking the enemy while they tunnel vision and compete to see who will get the kill.

The 39ner: plays mostly dd's. 39% WR. Never caps. Spends the game at the edge of the map dodging planes that never come near him.

The cheeky: uses hit and run tactics, like to utilize island as cover and raid enemies at long range. The player like to use smoke ships, long range gun or spotter aircraft, good speed, and maneuverability like italian or uk even german ships.

I’m a collector all the way. I buy premium boats just so they sit in port. Love it!

Man, every one of those seemed to fit me at one time or another!

The dead chirper: Gets themself killed within the first 10 minutes of the game and spends the rest of the game complaining about the ‘skill’ of other players, assigning blame on others for their own death, telling others how to play the game, complaining about the lack of support, or just flat out complaining about the fact that the game sucks. They usually get told to shut up by other players after about 3 minutes of chirping but always just says “nah” and starts telling the other player to leave, tells them they have no right to speak because they “aren’t good enough”, blah blah blah. Goes on forever and just won’t shut up. They are everywhere and they are so annoying.

Collector sub class if you want to put it that way. Mix with an habit to grind out the tech tree over buying premiums and you have me. I do own premiums I'm just selective of which I get. Though on one end anything American and I take a good look at it before making a decison. Would that make me a tech tree warrior? Grinder? (Specific country) Enthusiast? Or just the average joe?

The Yolo is stonk :) but strategy is key when you Yolo. Being in a German bb you can tank nearly anything except fire

Good topic. I have seen all these types..although The Whale is hard to spot unless they are a content provider though.. As a cruiser main, I consider myself a "Kiter." My favorite ships are the ones with a good rate of fire, higher than average fire chance, and a decent speed... Budyonny, and Myoko are examples. At the risk of being deleted by a BB two tiers higher..angled or not.. But, for me nothing says fun, than burning a BB to a crisp.. But, I DO recognize the objectives and will go after the DDs if spotted, and stay around a BB if I can assist with AA..so not quite the farmer..

I am so happy that I am not a farming Smolensk player. I direct my fire at DDs first, Cruisers second, and BBs third. Probably for no other reason than they will spot me first, making them immediate threats. While I do YOLO, it is in Russian DDs. A lucky Okhotnik can surprise two cruisers and a BB and sink all three of them. Russian DDs have really short range for their torpedoes, so they need to be played aggressively to do much damage. The US DD, Nicholas, is also a fun DD for YOLOing, as it can come round a spit of land, surprise two BBs, and sink both of them. The European DDs are really hard to play, as surprising anything and pumping all of your torpedoes into it will put you next to an enemy that wishes you dead, while it is still alive enough to kill you.

A very special one: Uwe: the German 60yr old Germany BB line sailor who has 6k games on his Kurfürst. He rushes in every game and dies. He's then flaming his teammates in German in the all chat. As someone reacts he will just continue flaming without reading what the ppl are telling him

How about when you’re @ point c capturing and there’s some dude off by himself at point A and he asks for help but your shells can’t reach that far or there’s a mountain in the way.. so he gets killed and blames you for his misfortune... ( when the whole team agreed on a c capture... )

Don’t forget the tunnel vision players that stay in bino view and crash into islands or other players lol but accurate vid!

I agree with the straitus linius that the IOWA is the best ship ever, Though I avoid becoming one I've them, 6 guns is still a decent amount of guns, and it's nice to live longer

The "noob team" : spends ten minutes camping far behind doing nothing, and when enemy push, focus him and kill him, screams in chat noob team... After battle you check his stats and he is a 44% genius

My favourite is the player in a torpboat DD who gets into a brawl with an enemy DD on 900hp and tries to kill him with tops instead of literally shooting him once to kill him, and sometimes he loses most or even all of his hp in the process...

The Rage Quitter. Plays one of the ultra fast DDs. Rushes to a cap as fast as he can screaming for support all the way. Due to the ship's speed outruns any support possible. Gets detected and shot at. Screams at the team for not supporting. Retreats to a far corner and sits there refusing to play anymore but continues berating the team for the next 15 minutes (if the match lasts that long) even though he still has 80% or more of his HP. I've seen this several times. In the most recent I noted that the player who did this had played nearly 24K matches yet behaved this way.

im a yolo player often with my georgia im going 1v3 kill theyr dd at the flank also 1-2 radar cas and free the flank for my dd to cap and have a free gane im going to port with 1m credits and 4 reports :P

Bait Barge Player: DD captain does circles behind an island using the team as bait so he can stealth torp. Player is never in front of team, does no spotting and eventually gets all teammates around him sunk. The Chess Player: [usually includes most of the team] Stays back, typically behind an island, bow forward, takes little pop shots at ships the entire game. Never pushes, enemy never pushes. Entire game is like that until the end. Then calls anyone who actually moved up, used their ship as intended, to try to affect the outcome, a reckless player.

The salty Torpedo Spammer: He will send Torps from the Second Line and he has sunk and Damage quite alot of Teammates that Way. But unlike normal Players he will never learn it and he will never say sorry. Instead he will Always Blame you for not Paying Attention and Sailing into his Torps. Since you could have Avoid his Torps it must therefore be your Resposibility that he is now Pink. Why should it be his Responsibility?

You forgot the exploit clown and the tunnelvision tanker. Exploit clown: those people that repeatedly and on purpose sail into the map border and angle during the 'slide' to throw off aim and dispersion. this also goes for the people (usually cruisers) that repeatedly go back and forth and ram islands to throw off everyone's aim because theres no punishment for them doing so. Tunnelvision tanker: People that usually play something that can bow tank for days, find a passageway or corner on the map between islands, and then sits there for the rest of the match going forward and reversing untill some DD catches up with them and gives them a torp broadside.

The Hunter: that dd that sails around the map border as far away as possible from any enemy and objective to go kill the carrier, and after that they try to rush a cruiser and get's blapped.

I'm a Potato! You didn't mention me! :-D I have no skill in the ship I'm playing. I just have the perseverance or masochistic nature to grind Defeat after Defeat after Defeat until I can research the next tier and I keep climbing that ladder. Three and Fifteen games are the norm when I sit down and play Ships for an hour or two, but my Clan has told me that the game gets better when I finally get to Tier 10! So by Neptune I'm going to keep on hitting Battle blindly and running back to Port to take another ship out. Eventually one of these lines is going to get to Tier 10...800 Ship XP at a time. :-)

You think the yolo and the sniper are limited to BB players? I’ve seen a fair share of Shimakazes, Asashio with 20km torps, going to the very edge of the map trying to snipe ships and fail, and our team cry out in anguish as their DD have full reign over our ships.

In defense of yamato snipers when you matched up against CVs or a super CV you kinda don't really want to push up. Also doesn't help when you do push and dds and cruisers just spam HE at you and turn you into ash.

The Kamikaze: DD player who always rushes cap, no matter if there's two CVs or three radar cruiser on the cap. Usually in a IJN torp boat and refuses to use their guns. Thinks they can yolo torp a Z-52 in their smoke cloud while being hydro'd.

You can add the border surfer, especially in the days when it was not punished.

I am a farmer, as a do play American and IJN cruisers, but I do focus the DD when he gets close, and I take down ships that are the closest to the cap. I farm bbs on the side (I also complain about carriers a lot, and how strong/annoying they are)

I am totally YOLO. Best way to be, just without the torpedoes obsession. If you push in a BB and brawl, you give your CA and DD a chance. Those two eat less damage because youre face tanking most of the enemy gunnery. Too many BB players want to be fence patrollers the guys that want to sail back and forth along the spawn zone. Most of the guys that sit back are God awful at gunnery. I have no idea why someone who sucks at gunnery wants to sit back and snipe.

The fisher or kiter! He is that kind of guy that pokes a ship and starts running backwards until he reaches the border of the map and crushes against it. He usually plays on cruiser with HE power, like zao, goliath etc, but sometimes also the hindi. The roon is also good kiter. Such players ignore objectives and live and die for the fishing and running at the corners of the map

And not to forget the "Wake up in the last 10secs at 5 in the mornin AFK r"...very valeuble..for the opponents Team 😁

have you seen the following stereo type? ( I am one of them) playing a sniper ship and go in yolo untill you notice you have to retreat. (my example) playing the champagne. build it up as secundairy ship. start going in all yolo with my secundairy build ship (glass cannon) untill I am slowly dying. then starts to retreat and starts to snipe from 25 km away hahahaha xD lets be honest. its really fun playing a sniper ship like that and go in yolo. especially if you can do ALOT OF DAMAGE (Since it came out, I became addicted to Champagne, but thats not because I can snipe with that ship. its because its a suprisingly good brawler if used right)

The welcome wagon. I have a clanmate who literally only plays low tier matches. He has something like 400m credits and a 16+pt captain on something meme-y like a derzki.

I am a YOLO, baby Whale. I want to get in, do some fighting, have fun. I play super aggressive. I recently went to Co-Op just for the reason the fights are quick, can get good numbers fast to make you feel good and farm directives (get the free stuff) due to the predictable bots. If I want to hear people complain about team gameplay, I go watch a few streamers.

You forgot people who spawn in left,sails to right,then come back and sink.Also those who yell:I need intelligence data! and they are behind island and cant shoot anyone.Then they get sunk by cv or dd and blame others for not support.Usually there is multiple of those island campers.And when you try to push they yell:Get Back.

I'm he spammer with khaba, Udaloi, Taskent, Grozovoi and all russian dds tier 4 - 10, all khaba build. Mogador, Kleber with khaba build too. Cruisers without citadel and speed tanking. Very fun!!!!

Isn't everyone this type of player at some stage of their playing career as that's how we learn, I used to rush in trying to him them with a sword then realised I need to back off and I'm still learning.

You also have the "No Cap, Kill All" group. The kind who refuse to cap even if losing. They are also the ones who will TK a team mate just because they are capping.

He forgot another type of player. Me... the family guy that plays once a day from a 10 year old computer that melts and gets stuck as soon as he fires a salvo... then gets disconnected and penalized for disconnecting xd

sniping with alternate fire/non-volley wrecking Destroyers in 25km with a montana LOL, there's always a montana out there that do the same and they are great team player.

I was (and still are) a yolo master in my German BBs. Is it fun to get up close to Yamato when you are in a Bismark and citadel it to death while it can't do shit to your citadel. Tier 8 kills a full health tier 10 legend.

Guys, would you say world of warships is worth it if you're starting new? Especially for a battleship person like me.
