People need to start having more kids I'm not saying to go explode the population counter but atleast 2-3 kids to keep the population stable so it doesn't decline and stays somewhat stable to achieve the 2.1 birthrate for population replacement
That's not the only reason for the population decline. Even if each family had at least 2-3 kids, the child mortality rate would go up due to lack of food. This is natural for all species as their population reaches a point called carrying capacity. This is where the population has reached its maximum due to food and resources and declines. The population of that species does not ever pass its carrying capacity. Humanity still hasn't reached that point, but no matter what we do, carrying capacity will catch up to us no matter how advanced we may get.(Unless we can drastically increase food production/create tech that converts air into food and create more land for shelter.)

Recently NIC which is indian based survey which says that india population is now slowing down and can start decreasing within next 15 years or maybe after 10 years . In 2022 reports they released fertility rate of indian states and most of them are now below 2.0 replacement levels and average of india is 1.9 data given by them . Even some sources and Google show that india will decrease to 1B in 2100 . I don't trust to UN based sources because of most of them are from USA they don't do survey rightly on india . For them we still a third world country.
India’s fertility rate is still above 2.1 so population will expand till 2060 and then start reducing.. this is accurate. Of course any predictions beyond 2100 are just hypothesis and have to be taken with a huge dollop of salt

However, as people are lifted out of poverty, having many babies is too costly, and almost everywhere things get better, people have fewer kids. In most of the First World, that is one child per couple. I think life is being improved every generation for human beings. I hope we'll see the absolute end of abject poverty and starvation.
