@@slussports36514:37 mile isn’t super crazy, I mean I haven’t broken 5:00 yet but I’m on my way there so I could probably hold that for close to the 0.87 miles that I’d make it in 4 minutes
@@stsk1061 he ran 26 miles with an alternating team in front of him that created a benefit to his running. Highly calculated. And I’m glad they tested this out. Not a marathon, not a record. A sub 2 hr, highly manipulated run.
Make sure to be proud of yourself. It’s easy to compare yourself to other runners, especially if you watch running content. But when you look at the grand scheme of things, 0.05% of the US population have run a marathon, 0.01% worldwide. So by completing a marathon you are essential in the top 1% of distance runners
The 4 minutes mark mile was considered almost impossible some decades back!!so running 20-30 miles below 5 minutes continuously is just mind boggling 😮😂👍
@@oscarma15Fr i can't even comprehend it. A 4:37 mile is something 99% of runners outside of collegiate,hs and pros will never achieve and is a remarkable achievement on its own even for people who put some crazy hours and serious training into running and the dude did it for more than 26 times,i seriously can't believe it
Bro these marathoners are different. I mainly run the 800 and mile my mile is 4:09 I am 19. I ran the 5k and ran 14:02. It is just a little faster then his marathon pace but he makes that look easy while was dying so bad the last time trying to run it under 4:40 to break 14 but failed a little.
@@Horizons9406😂😂😂 now I know damn well that u don’t actually run. I don’t think u understand how hard it is to shave off 30 seconds at a 4:50 mile. Do u know what the percentage off of that is?
@@andrewkent9466 no I mean I’m aiming for that goal since I ended my 8th grade season with the 4:50 and I have seen guys at my level go as low as sub 4:20 so I’m aiming mid low 4:20 at the end of freshman yesr
Wow! You can hold running a 4:37 / mile for 2 minutes >>> That is quite something since many normal people can't even do that! ... Meanwhile Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya ran a 42.195km Marathon in a World Record Time of 2 Hours 01 Minute & 09 Seconds set in 2022 Berlin Marathon! Respect & Salute indeed! 🌷🌿🌍💜🕊
@@johntorres779 i'm fit and i'm in the military so we have to, i'm doing 3k in roughly 12 minutes but yeah i ain't getting close to the 2 minute mark in this pace tbh
The fact he can do that for 2 hours is crazy 😅 I could probably only run that for 10-20 minutes MAX! I haven’t run since school but I gym and squat etc
i think he got a huge advantage by having a long pair of legs which definitely helps him having longer strides between each steps making it looks seemingly effortless. also them marathon runners are literally a different breeds lol they train day n night every single day, the stamina they had really shows how much work they've done
I ran the mile in high school and my fastest time was 4:35 and I collapsed at the finish line…this guy runs those all day and then casually walks to the podium…he is a cut above humanity…
It is insane. You can partly tell because of how high feet go behind. My 1/2 mile PR was 2:30, a 5 minute mile pace, age 40, and I almost went down at the end, hard to recover if you trip up on uneven ground. I did a 5:18 road mile race on my marathon training age 42. Now at age 55, 6:14 was the best I could do, although lower training too.
Reminder that he has rare genetics that allow him to literally not get tired while working out. His body does not fatigue like the average human. People like him, Usain Bolt, and Michael Phelps are real life super heroes.
For reference, when people started keeping track of times for different distances in the mid-1800s the world record for the single mile was slower then his pace for the marathon.
@@Immortal__ holy shit, I can't imagine being so narcissistic that you want to be thanked for your pedantry. God damn I'm glad I don't know you in real life.
I ran track in the 80’s in HS and had a PB of 2:00 in the 800 and a 4:25 mile. Pretty quick for the times, especially on dirt tracks and crappy shoes. I can’t even imagine keeping a 4:37 mile pace for more than 2-3 miles, let alone a freakin marathon, wow!!
I did this once with the Adidas running app I tracked my pace and speed and I could only hold this for about 2-3 mins, it's insane to know that Eliot kipchoge held this pace for more than 2 hours, what an absolute madlad.
