Hey folks, this is my world record speedrun of this category of Enter the Gungeon. In this category you must visit every floor, defeat every boss and also beat the rat in punch out. This run had very very good RNG and it is unlikely I will ever grind this category again to try to top it. Enjoy! This is the current world record as of June 13th 2021
As someone who's put maybe 100 hours into playing this game casually and has never made it past floor 4, I was completely lost as to where he was and what he was doing about 3 minutes into the video.
well there's officially 5 floors but there's technically 10: oubliette (floor 1.5) abbey of the true gun (floor 2.5) rat lair (3.5) r&g department (floor 4.5) gungeon hell (floor 6)
@Southmadethis items for one, also clearing rooms without taking damage raises your coolness level (its one of 2 hidden stats, along with curse) which gives you a chance for bonus rewards after a room clear, and the sell creep (dude in the sewers) is a good way to earn quick money
the ammo disappearing from the nailgun is a bug that happens to any gun that gains more ammo from a synergy while playing as the gunslinger. default ammo for the nailgun is 500, and when you transition between chambers with more that the original ammo count it goes back down, since the gunslinger's guns sort of get all their synergies reapplied when you enter the next chamber. i believe it can happen with any character, but it's super common with the slinger
this so amazing, ive always adored enter the gungeon for being so gosh darn fun, this was both thrilling and just so jam packed with info i would have NEVER known if i didnt watch it, AWESOME JOB
Man, Barb you’re an awesome gamer, entertainer and creator. I watch you over on Twitch when I can but I always catch up on what I miss there here. Much love
wow, I had no idea you played this, let alone speedrun it. I've followed you for mario maker for years, searched up gungeon videos after I got all the achievements, and was super excited to see this listed. great vid
Hey don’t worry I love the game and it took me 72 in game hours to beat my first run. Needless to say I sucked hard but it turned into one of my favorite games :)
Dont be afraid to play in rainbow mode. That is what helped me beat the game. And since rainbow mode is easier your more likely to go farther in game and learn bosses patterns. This could also help you unlock better items and get alot of hegemony credits. Once you beat the game in rainbow a couple of time go back to the original game and try beating it there. It helped me beat the entire game on normal mode and helped me beat every boss on normal mode besides the rat and the Advanced Dragon. Those guys are way harder if you dont have a really good boss killer weapon. I wish you luck and I hope you enjoy your time with the game.
@@nathanvekovius465 Hehe yeah I felt like a fool that it took me over 25 hours to even enter chamber 5, and for me 25 hours into a game is already alot of my time. I was a champ though, I never looked up a guide for anything until I beat the dragon for the third time
@@nathanvekovius465 72? took me about a hundred though the main reason it took so long was because I used to mess around and played a lot and I basicallly played blind, so every floor boss took many attempts (usually floor 3 bosses and later) to get the patterns and win. Also for the majority I played handheld so drift sucked, and I had trash luck most of the time, with bad guns and low ammo/hp by floor 5. Another thing was my trash luck (yes again, I have bad luck) in getting rainbow run unlocked which most people use to get their first run.
Damn bro used to watch your Mario maker and was shocked to find this on my recommend. Absolutely love gungeon and look forward to seeing more of your content with games like this in the future.
good stuff barb , that chamber gun came in clutch haha , keep up the good work :) , stupid good rng tho , i got the purple dragunfire a few days ago randomly on my ps4 version , heard the room is crazy rare to spawn , just found it on accident
GG, insane run. Actually how no idea Barb even played roguelikes like this, he should check out Streets of Rogue at some point if he hasn't already. It's another top down action roguelike but with more of an "immersive sim" aspect, lots of opportunities to find clever ways to complete your objectives instead of just shooting everyone (but also you can still just shoot everyone, it even has a "low health for all" mode that gives combat kind of a Hotline Miami feel). Plus a level editor that allows people to add new structures to the level generation for an absurd amount of variety, in my opinion it's easily the best game in the genre so far.
I remember when I was new to the game when my friend recommended it to me when it was on sale, I was trash at it (I still am) but I kept getting better and better, until I got to the forge and died. But I kept moving on, and finally used the gun that can kill the past. The next goal was to get the bullet that can kill the past. It took me many runs to do until I got the perfect run and got the remaining 3 components to the bullet that can kill the past. I was so relieved that I didn’t have to do all of those steps again (Prime Primer and the chamber 4 one) I then first tried every past and got to bullet heck, then died. BUT I STILL KEPT ON GOING. I killed the Lich with a 7-8 chamber run. (I forgot) Then one run I killed a mimic and I got the last infuriating note, allowing me to finally go to the rat’s lair. I struggled to get there and when I got there I didn’t have the right equipment to kill him, and to dodge to survive. Until I did, I managed to get to the punchout phase, and died at phase 2. It’s ok though, I got keys for doing it so it was worth it all along, but I think I died on that run. I was trying to get paradox so I tried to do it with the rat but I got too mad and started a rainbow run and killed advanced dragun, I shot myself with the gun that can kill the past and I realized. You have to kill the lich if you beat all of the pasts. I fought the rat multiple times and either died because of my equipment or got to the punchout phase and died. Until on my run of trying to get paradox. I was on half a heart with a piece of armor. I made it to the punchout phase. AND I WON. I got all of the gear with 5 keys and won that attempt, and finally I didn’t have to main hunter anymore. Right now I am trying to get the robot and bullet, and then try getting gunslinger. It will be hard but I believe I can do it. I just need to never give up.
For someone who haven't really gotten thaaaaat far in the game is insane. I have seen only 1, 2, 3 chamber and 1st chambers secret room myself, and all of this is new. Too many questions... Starting with how can you go so fast already from the start, who is this character, how can you carry that many additional items, to how are you SO GOOD! watched the whole video, respect ... 💪
The gold junk is CRAZY rare, so i can't fault him for not even noticing he got it until after getting in the elevator lol. i've only seen it once since the game came out years ago
That's some crazy RNG luck. I know the best I had was turkey with scattershot and the makeshift cannon. Idk if I had dmg boosts but I literally one-shot the Dragun down to his second phase, and the game lagged like crazy because he was barely done animating for the first phase. The Lich got one-shot in I think the first form, but I think the other two had more health idk. Either way it was a cake walk. FYI for those who may not know, the makeshift cannon does crazy high damage but only fires once. However turkey returns one ammo if you hit with three shots, and scattershot gives you three shots for the price of one. I think the cannon's shot explodes or I had something to home in with but I didn't have to worry about missing. It was crazy. That was a while ago, now I recently re-downloaded ETG to play on my wife's account and basically do all the same stuff again. But my RNG luck sucks and I haven't been able to unlock the gunslinger on her account yet. Still, I love this game
