If it is played out in this format I'm up for this, there has to be promotion and relegation to the divisions, and am looking forward to Georgia in the six nations 👍

Agree, it is a shame that such a mediocre team as Italy is still playing the Six Nation.

I didn’t get if there’s a match between the top team of the lowest tier and the worst of the best tier, in that case it would be something like Italy vs Georgia, and I’m not so sure Georgia would win
@plopmomentum7935
@plopmomentum7935 3 года назад
well georgia can only be in the six nations if they beat italy then and that seems unlikely and if georgia join the six nations they would be just like italy in that they always lose

For me it’s a great idea because is like a continental tournament with the possibility of relegation and a semifinal between the conferences. It’s the possibility to reach best level.

or a 6 Nations or Championship and then you have the domestic clubs / provinces saying hold on *** that so players would end up choosing between Test Games and Domestic games and trust me the money at domestic level will way out lay that of international test level This whole idea is so bad and ill advised it's amazing that they think it's even gonna get off the ground MADNESS!

I think all of the International Tier One Teams (The 6 Nations Teams and the four Rugby Championship teams) should all agree that every year they will each play at LEAST one Tier Two Nation. The Tier Two Nation will always be playing in front of their Home crowd for these matches. In odd numbered years (2021, 2023 etc) the Tier One team’s should play the Southern Hemisphere Tier 2 team(s) in June/July and then they would alternate so that in Even numbered years (2022, 2024 etc) the Tier One team would be playing a Northern Hemisphere Tier 2 team(s) in October/November doing it this way will avoid clashing with the RWC which is always towards the end of an odd numbered year. To ensure nobody gets left out, the Tier 1 teams will not be able to play a Tier 2 team from the same continent in the last two years, unless the Tier 1 team is playing at home!
@delange3334
@delange3334 4 года назад
Tier 1 nations must play tier 2 teams at a certain point in a year e.g South Africa plays two to four tier 2 nations every year as they will field a b team that will fair up against tier 2 nations while their own world class events are taking place is the one and only way the tier 2 nations will start improving and becoming stronger competitors against the 'A' teams in the world cup. New Zealand B against Romania or Portugal will be a great match to have because we all know that those Teams have a large pool of players and will also be a great opportunity for the management to have a look at players that slipped out of the New Zealand 'A' team how they perform and will be noticed rather than leaving international camp and going back to club or franchise rugby or provincial. Guys it will take years for tier 2 nations to improve if they just keep playing against each other only and meeting tier one nations basically in the world cup. Trust the process.

Quite possibly the most ridiculous ideas that IRB... Sorry World Rugby have had. What this is is basically World Rugby trying to stranglehold the TV rights to the game but they are too greedy to be honest and simply state this! The only changes that need to be made is relegation from 6 Nations and from the Rugby Championship. If this was to be implemented it would all but replace and water down the World Cup, both the domestic championships would be also watered down. You cannot have a "world series" every year, that is absurd to say the least, Football / Olympics / all run off 4 year cycles this is what gives them credibility to have it every year would be fascicle. Player safety is also a massive reason that this should not progress, the demands on professional players is bad enough without this! But hey never let player safety or logic get in the way of bureaucrats like World Rugby making coin off the back of others... *SHOCKING IDEA***
@Andr3d3w44l
@Andr3d3w44l 4 года назад
Or you know, you could just make it 5 Teams in each conference/pool across all divisions based on IRB Rankings, and forget about Semi’s and Finals in Division One (save that for the RWC instead) but you could always give a trophy to the two conference winners!!

Love the concept, but fear that some match ups which are currently unlikely will be effectively impossible. I’d suggest some shuffling every 5 years or so to freshen up the matchups. While logistically difficult the idea of Argentina trading seats with Wales or Scotland holds appeal. Anyway...anything which nets more rugby is a good thing.
@discodavid26
@discodavid26 4 года назад
think its 75% of the way to go these are the flaws and what i would do to sort it out. 1.in each 4 year cycle you have 18 cross conference games but because of pro/rel team a for example doesn't play team b or z and/or all the teams an equal number of times home and away so keep the euro (and world) six nations games on still for all 4 years and every. 2nd season use the combined league tables (- cross conference games) for an home and away double round robin table that gives you the worst tier 1 team and best tier 2 teams for the euro pro/rel playoffs which is an h and a 2 legged contest.The teir 2 team picks which leg they want to be at home but if the aggregate score over the two legs is equal then tier 1 team (italy?) stays up .in the world conference just have an automatic one up and one down as its quite likely its just 1 Pacific team swapping places with another ...if a world conference 2 legged playoff is need then have it between world conference 5th best team from teir one vs 2nd best from world teir 2 league again after each 2nd season when all have been played home and away with same playoff rules as europe. winner goes/stays in higher league. 2.cross conference games rules.. use lions year as year 1 european teams are drawn 3 world teams at home and 3 away playing out those games. the next year (pre wc year) the cross conference games are exactly the same except euro teams swap over the 3 world teams they played at home over with the 3 teams they played away. both these years have no semi finals or finals but you have an completed top12 league table home and away 22 games each and award the top team an world league title/trophy by either soccer points system eg. 3pts win 1 point draw or by the rugby championship points system .in post wc years you can either keep the old system of leaving teams to arrange friendly games as they see fit or have the cross conference games all European teams play 3 home 3 away drawn at random.. using the rankings you then play an one off final between the top ranked euro conference team and the top world team in a neutral location for an shield. 3.back Lions tours! one flaw with this system is number of games in lions years.... 4 new rules for lions tours rule 1 link the lions closer with an "pacific islanders" team if australia or new zealand want the next visit due of the lions to go ahead then exactly 4 years before they have to play 3 tests in fuji,tonga and samora against the combined p.i team earning the teir 2 nations some much needed money... if not host it in your own country but either way at least 50% of money heads over to the 3 pacific unions and hopefully keeps more islanders declaring for their nations going forwards.Also Lions themselves must play a least one game against pacific islanders/fuji/samoa/tonga and or japan either on way down to australia/nz or on way back to the north.. better both? rule 2 similar rule for south africa except due to geographic reasons get them to cover a different part of the globe to the other two... argentina/usa and canada /japan/main land europe are all options for the Springbox. Again lions on way down and or back from sa can visit or play home match against france/italy/argentina/usa/canada etc etc rule 3 give the lions a shot! minimum 9 games for a lions tour in host country plus at least 1 more on either way out or way back....also new rule for lions host national teams other then 3 "jokers" per main test match you can only be selected against the lions as a player if you played either an earlier test in the same series against them as a joker and/or for you club/province/state team in a midweek match during the same tour as especially during the Australian and south African tours lions teams have a lack of talent to face in the midweek non test matches hence under preparing them for the 3 big test matches! only exceptions is the games vs new zealand maori, and emerging/uncapped teams in the host nations colours.when teams can pick as needed with no restrictions.for the main test matches any non eligible players would need permission from the lions to play and it would only be granted in exceptional circumstances. basically if you want your strongest starting 15 players against the lions for 80 minutes then you got to play at least 12 of them against the lions for same amount of 80 or whatever minutes (barring good reasons) in the warm up matches a minute for each minute for the non joker players. rule 4 award the world cup winners a one off friendly test against the lions. these would cut the gaps of 4 years between lions not playing in same squad together into half and would be a nice way to award the world cup winners with a big friendly test match... if one of the 4 home nations wins the wc like England in 2003 the lions can only select from the other 3 nations.if home nation wins they host the game in their own stadium anybody else can chose either 2 games over a 2 year period one home and one away at one of the home nations stadium picked on a revolving basis or just have one match instead.

If, (and I really mean if), this goes ahead, then the Lions team should be scrapped and consigned to history where it belongs. There are no other teams that combine the players from 4 nations into one team in an attempt to win against better teams.

That's a terrible proposal. It involves way too much travelling for no good reason. The lovely thing about the Six Nations is the proximity between the countries. Short trips mean little expenses for the RFUs and big support for the away team. All this would go or would be watered down.

The addiction to having 'great' sporting events every single month of every single year continues to grow and grow. Olympics, World Athletic Championships, Tennis GrandSlams, Ryder Cups, World Cycling Championships. World Cups Soccer, Cricket, Rugby. F1, Snooker, Darts, Tiddlywinks!!!! Mens World events, Womens world events. 'BIG' sporting events have become a plague and there IS a saturation level when you kinda go crazy looking at all the 'sport' on offer, all the time. It's too much. It kills the very sense of 'Event' when you overdo it all. Rugby too is becoming too much. It's addiction, not love. The Club leagues looking for an audience, the International game looking for an audience, the Tier 2 teams looking for an audience - World Cups, World Championships, Lions Tours, Super World Leagues.......... It's addiction, not love.

So when do the European teams and SH teams play one another? In a Semi final or final and RWC? Ridiculous. It just further feeds the seperation between South and North.
@brianowen4151
@brianowen4151 4 года назад
No. You're actually way off as it would definitely close the separation, but at the same time it would end test series. Let me provide an example using France. So France would play the five European teams in the Six Nations during the normal February to March window. Then they would play three of the teams in the "SH" (you can't really use the term Southern Hemisphere since it now includes the Northern hemisphere teams not in Europe) during the July internationals, and then play the other three in the November internationals. Then the top two in each division would play the semi-finals and final. Example French schedule: Feb-March: Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland, Italy July: Fiji, New Zealand, Australia November: Japan, South Africa, Argentina Then if they make the playoffs they'd have two more matches in December.
