Dude u look just like the guy that does all the gun videos... i think his name is Johnathan... lol great work dude. Cant wait to see this channel blow up as well!!
If you aren't comfortable enough to know the gear you are in, you have bigger things to worry about than customizing the car. Talking about people who want the gear pattern on the knob. The bushings upgrade probably makes the gear change feel cleaner definitely.
I lost the retainer clip too! I thought I was the only one who could make that kind of mistake. Ended up spotting it at the bottom of the engine bay with a flashlight and was barely able to grab it
i never understood the complain of metal shifters. I live in Tx. we have gotten 20F to 110F and i never frozen my hand. Burnt it. maybe once. for the most part when getting back in a hot car. turn the ac on, wait a few minutes and your good. Also i think the numbering is for people who wanna show off that they got a 6speed.
The shift pattern can also be a legal requirement. In Australia if it's not displayed on the shifter it needs to be displayed right next to the shifter with a sticker or plate. I personally prefer it on the knob itself.
Love the video. Would be cool to do the car videos from a different background of the room to give it a different feel. I had to remind myself this wasn’t a gun page.
I have always been a car guy and like working with my hands. I enjoy researching and modifying (when I have time and money) everything. Cars, computers, guns, etc. I am sure you are the same and I am sure there are millions of other people like us. Bringing it all together is great for all communities/genres in so many ways and will expand our gun community and constant fight for our rights. I wish you the best. I have seen you grow your channel in only a few years. Amazing work my friend.
Can I make one suggestion? Small upgrade it is called the M61 Vulcan two of those on the car eliminates road rage and you know a couple rocket Launchers in the trunk help two
Been a big fan of your other channel. I learn alot from it. Its one of my trusted sorces of info. Now that you have this one up and running i can't wait to see what you do with it. I have a car channel as well with a track h22 civic, h22 accord , tl and a gs430 on it. No where close to the success you've had. Stoked on your work!!
@CrazyLegsMcGee would say that a very easy fix for this is when entering the car, try the gears. You'd know very quick that reverse (in a 10th gen civic at least) is far right, down!
I think the only important info might be which position reverse is in and for people who might not be regularly driving the car. In the old days there more variations in shift patterns to.
@CrazyLegsMcGee my wife and I both drive hatches, my reverse is to the right and down, hers is to the left and up. We switch cars frequently, and trust me, it’s hard to override muscle memory.
Si does not show you what gear you're in. Never thought of needing it either. Got a knob with no pattern because I've never wondered which gears are where😂. Thanks for this review. Will be trying this one on the future.
Short shifters like this only decrease the distance you need to move the shifter, by doing this it also increases the resistance needed to put into gear by shortening the leverage applied. Luckily cars like this aren’t difficult to shift.
Could you really see the road? If it was an 86 Mazda it was rwd right? Which means your tranny would be directly under the shift knob so how? Idk anyway
interesting. I may want this because I find myself hitting the dash with my hand while shifting. Don't know how many times I've turned off the fan or changed a climate setting.
are there any other small cheap mods that can be done for performace/cosmetic change like this does?Just got mine and makes a big difference in shifting
short height shifter is usually a very bad idea, you want to increase the height so that the shifter is closer to the wheel, and then use a new short throw shifter kit to then keep the overall shift throw the same, but then move the knob closer to the wheel. making the lever shorter is just ...
How does that differ from any short shift kit? They’re all just changing the geometry of the shift lever so that moving the knob Xcm moves the linkage further than it does when stock. If you do that by shortening the geometry of the triangle above the last fulcrum it’s the exact same as doing it by shortening the geometry of the triangle below that fulcrum.
It allows the shifter to slip into gear far easier. It almost feels like it clicks into place vs. the OEM feeling spongy. I hope this makes sense James
Didnt know you had a channel for the Type R. Love the gun channel and just subbed to this one! Will have to catch up on alll these vids. I just started a channel for my S2000, check it out if you can! Keep up the great work ✌
Lmao they pulled a fast one. A short throw shifter changes the axis of the lever (your shift lever) Moving the axis towards the center of the lever greatly reduces the throw. This does just as much as hopes and dreams
Lucas Gorski moving the axis towards the center of the lever and shortening the length of the lever itself are actually the same thing (assuming were at a starting point where the axis is not already in the center).
@@geoken2 this does shorten the throw (a bit) But it's not close, a real short throw shifter ruduces travel by up to 70%, it also reduces angular travel It's much more involved than just moving the axis
Claims to keep guns off this channel. Wears an ak shirt and has an ar15 chilling in the background. 😂 can't find shifter retainer clip, reinstalls parts, takes car out, stands on it for the first time, engine goes💥, shreds exhaust side compressor fins, finds out missing clip feel into boost pipe on intake side of intercooler. Obviously not what actually happened however it's a real pucker factor when you lose a clip of a bolt in an engine that’s opened up.
TORQ Toolbox thanks. Take a look at my comment on your accompanying ar pistol video. I left a comment you might find interesting dealing with bad levers.
