I had 4 problems when I uploaded the stage 1 tune to a Honda Civic 1.5T hatchback 2018 adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, collision, and lane departure problem. It seams like it’s all the safety features. Is this supposed to happen?
@@Crrazykidd If you're talking about all the lights and warnings during the process of flashing, it's completely normal. The ECU is basically resetting and relearning everything and that's exactly what happens. Once you start the car up for the first time and start driving, it should be otherwise normal.
Thanks for the reply, but actually it was after. But to add, I drove around for awhile and all the lights when away when I turned off the car and back on after driving a few miles. Just a tip for the Honda Civic drivers out there with safety features
KTuner V2 is a great device. Data logging and overall user experience are top-notch. I absolutely love the real-time parameters with the screen. Loving the TSP Stage 1 tune on my 2018 Si. Highly recommended!
@@jayc5768 Two Step Performance teamed up with D-Rob to produce a TSP Stage 1 tune for 10th gen Si's. You can purchase the tune off of Two Step Performance's website. Make sure it's for your ECU / vehicle too!
@@jayc5768 Check out their site for more information! But as a quick run down: TSP Stage 1 produces much more power than the KTuner base maps, carries power throughout the RPM range, no-lift-shifting enabled, includes on-the-fly map switching and on-the-fly adjustable launch control. Edit: check out civicx.com, they have a survey on tuned Civic's. TSP Stage 1 is one of the most popular off-the-shelf tunes.
I love how you show step by step even downloading it on the pc, many vids I’ve seen jus say download it but not show like you did 👍🏻👌🏻 keep up good work!
Waiting for my KTuner to get here this week and started looking for some videos, this was really informative and helpful. Thanks for putting this together!
Thank you for breaking this down Barney style. I have no experience with tuning. But I got this to get rid of: Rev hang, Rev limit, and speed limit. And maybe add a 2step for s&giggles lol Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this video. I legit been all over the web finding the pros and cons to this Tune and I’m glad I clicked on this video. Love it so much. Thank you for your time also
I did this differently I brought the k tuner into the car & locked it to the car, then went inside & downloaded maps from laptop but I never brought laptop into car
Great video. I've had this for 4 years and didn't know 80% of what's in this video. I had no idea this unit was so powerful😅. Getting ready to throw it on my new teggy😁
this video is awesome, i purchased the ktuner and this has been so helpful, one of the most throrough and instructional videos ever, keep up the great content.
@@EdgeAutosport thank you!, took 3 hours to sign the paper work but once I finally got it out, it's insane how fast they are and I'm coming from a 300hp V6 2nd gen tacoma
Very great and helpful video. I just installed a front pipe and downpipe catless with PRL intake and manifold. So.... I'm getting the Ktuner for ridding of the check engine light and have fun with it as well. I have a 2018 civic si coupe. Best video on ktuner. Thank you.
@@crappie624 , I'm a order something called Cobb ktuner stage 1 I think. I haven't yet. I'm actually waiting on the Remark exhaust for my car. Do you know any good k tuners? I was leaning towards that Cobb one.
I do not know of any good tuners I'm just getting into this whole tuning thing since it's my first boosted car I wanna do some special stuff with it. However I do hear good things about Cobb my brother has it for his focus st and he's very pleased with it. I do have the remark exhaust it's worth the money However I do plan on switching it up to ark.
Great video brotha! I just recently purchased a 2020 civic si, and I have installed a PRL Cold air intake with a ktuner 1.2 series. I was having a difficult time on know how to setup on (on the fly maps).. I was uploading my tunes not directly to the ecu and instead to the tune slots.. and I was having a difficult time doing the on the fly switches from my steering wheel... go to find out I was doing it all wrong. Thanks for explaining this step in your video!
Hands down the best step by step video in ktuner. I have a 2014 acura TL. And wanted to know if you would or can make a video for me on ktuners or an email so I could ask you some questions
This is a class video! It's exactly what I was looking for--step by step on how to set one up. So many sadly lacking videos out there. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is background music. I have the opportunity to buy a KTuner for my 2017 Accord Coupe V6. Anyone have any experience with this model? Does the KTuner make a big difference in power?
@@anathema7813 I did some research and the maximum horsepower gain for my car would be about 15 to 17 horsepower. It wasn't worth it for me, so I passed and did not buy the unit. If you do buy one, let me know how it works out?
@@UncleLoodis I think imma pass on it, I'd like it but I dont know if it would even effect my gear ratios and what not, which is the main slow point of the autos.
I have a KTuner and a KBuddy (mount). Have many mods and this Tuner brings them all together! If you have PCDs, J-Pipe it is a MUST HAVE! I have been using it for a while and am doing my own tunes now. If you do not have, you don't know the HP you are missing!!
I'm tempted to go this route, i grab my intake from 27won and was thinking about grabbing their F/D P & turbo inlet pipe for my 10th gen civic sport touring.
Not sure which engine you have but if it is the 1.5 turbo, it appears it turns off the rev hang. See the feature list in this link, ktuner.com/16civicturbo/
What me guess, KTuner is a company that makes hardware devices for you to load aftermarket tunes from another company into the cars, while Phearable is a name that create aftermarket tunes for cars
The quick adjustments thing is a bit confusing...what does it actually change - are these overriding a preloaded tune, if so which one, or is it creating a custom tune? Don't see a save button in the video...? How do you reset it if you wana do that?
I have a 2019 civic si coupe, I've been reading on the forums that after tuning the car with Ktuner the clutch starts slipping due to the extra torque..is a better clutch recommended with k tuner mod? I never redline but it would be nice to add some more power to my ride, I'd like to think I'm a pretty conservative driver, thanks and awesome video!
The clutch is definitely not very strong, that's for sure. We experience clutch slip with a complete turboback exhaust, intake, and custom tuning. The turboback did add a decent chunk of power. But I think you'd be safe with the 19.5 psi map that KTuner provides. Anything past that and you are just speeding up the process of wearing down your clutch. It's not a bad idea to get one sooner rather than later. We have many available. ACT just released theirs and they make great stuff. Check out our site, they're on there.
Contact Eman through IG and get his type r retro kit. I’ve been through 2 junk masters kits and a rebuild transmission from the garbage I got from them. Trust me you don’t want that expense. The type r retro kit is solid, holds tons of power and is factory equipment. His IG is k20z3allmotor.
I get up to the part where I’m supposed to click flash, but it doesn’t say flash it only says gauges and errors. Can’t figure out how to get past this step
I have multiple tunes on my ktuner but emissions system problem comes on. I have a prl cobra race intake installed and I filled up with 91 gas idk why this would come on. I took it to a mechanic and they say nothing is wrong. Anyone else have that issue?
We did a review of the Mishimoto recently: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z8heAw-1Ils.html - but we also feature many different brands on our site, take a look around!
Yes, it does. The software is slightly different but ktuner has been updated for 2020 support. Also, Gearing from the transmission has no bearing on how the ecu manages the motor.
I recently traded in my 8th gen for the 10th I used hondata for the 8th gen. But now for the 10th I’m trying ktuner plus can’t beat the price hondata cost too much. And don’t get me started on kpro lol
LOL...Not sure but that is almost exactly what I went with except I went with the Injen SP cold air intake. 2020 Si Sedan ..... what you rollin? Right now I'm just gonna put the 19.5, 21.5 & 23psi on the ktuner and add some boost to the sport mode.
Hello..Nice video..I have FC 2017 1.5 Turbo Auto..Is any side effects on CVT gearbox.?.Probably will use stock for daily driving..For fun, will use tuners by Ktuner..Btw,Which tuner will you recommend for CVT gearbox.? I heard Ktuner got some problem if Honda FC using it.?.Did Ktuner upgrade it already? Thank You EA 🙏🏻
When you tune your car do you have to keep it plugged in to maintain that same tune or can you just flash it and unhook the ktuner and put it away? Thanks
I just bought a 2019 Civic sport hatchback touring edition. I am considering this product is this something that needs to have everything down loaded on to the tuner or is it just plug and go ? This is my first Honda
It's a good video but I'm a little disappointed that you don't point out all of the error notifications that you get visually and audibly alerted to. For someone doing this the first time that can be pretty intimidating.
I just watched your video …very informative . I have a couple questions . I jus purchased v2 and it’s goin on a 2005 Acura tl using a 07 type s ecu. Do you know how many preloaded tunes are on the unit for my car ? 2nd question is once you have loaded what time you want can you disconnect the unit and operate the vehicle with that tune without the v2 connected ? Thanks for your feedback
Although I don't have personal experience with the 11th gen yet, it most definitely has a coolant temp sensor. Usually any tuner or display that's meant to read sensors is going to read that one.
this will work on my civic 10th gen 1.5 turbo sedan cvt? i mean i only want stage 1, nothing more en i only want to activate in the highway , how does affect the life of the motor?
Great video, thanks! Quick question for anyone who knows: For a car previously tuned with Ktuner V2 but since sold, if the next owner buys their own V2 can they start by saving off the existing custom tune so it isn’t lost before uploading a new one? It seems like an obvious Yes but don’t want to connect until absolutely certain the existing tune isn’t accidentally lost.
Update: once connected and “live” the Download option (menu and button) is still greyed out. Is it possible that it needs to be the exact same Ktuner? That seems unlikely but if there is a custom tune in the ECU shouldn’t the download be available?
Once you flash the map onto your car, you can disconnect and store the Ktuner if you don't want the display running, the tuning persists. Nothing changes when you plug in/out. If you don't really care for the display features, there is the cheaper, flash-only interface available: edgeautosport.com/ktuner-flash-v1-2-flash-based-hardware/
What is the difference between v2.0 and v1.2 besides the obvious screen? Can you store multiple maps in the v1.2? Also, what are the precautions for CVT models? I plan to switch to an SI so I will transfer this at that time.
Hey Michael, good questions. The actual device is the biggest difference. With v1.2, you can store and flash multiple maps but you have to use KTuner's TunerView mobile app, which you can also datalog with. However, tuning still has to be done through the PC. You can also run flexfuel if you're interested in running ethanol. As far as CVT goes, you can definitely use this with a CVT car, but I'm not familiar with the limitations of that transmission as far as how much power it can handle. But I know that many people use this with CVT, no problem. Let us know if you have any more questions.
Great video helped a lot. My IAT is higher than my IAT2. Is that what I'm suppose to be seeing on my V2. For example today ambient air was around 65F, IAT was reading around 100s and IAT was reading 80s F. These were cruising highway speeds.
On first time use, can I upload the basemap tunes to the ktuner unit and then just bring the ktuner to the car to flash for the first time or does it HAVE to be plugged to pc, ktuner and car at the same time?
