We talk with Charlie Nearburg after he drove the Red Line sponsored Spirit of Rett streamlined racecar over 420mph and setting a new FIA world land speed record, becoming the fastest wheel driven single engine car in history. The Spirit of Rett is named after Charlie's late son Rett Nearburg, and it runs a single Rehr-Morrison Chevrolet on nitrous.

I'm old enough to remember the Summers brothers car Goldenrod. It was powered by 4 hemi engines connected together. They wanted to have two pair of hemis but an engineer at Ford told them that the car would not be aerodynamic and to place the engines in a line. Yes I've lived downunder all my life but we had access to the US hot rodding magazines.

Congrats on ur record! i know you are in a different class but it must be said that the Turbintaor and Don Vesco hold the F.I.A Absolute Wheel Driven Vehicle at 458mph, 470 out the back. That's probably the "other record" ur referring to.
