Amazing steam-powered, full size replica of the First Caterpillar Tractor ever sold. The builder, Don Hunter, spent nine years in the construction of this amazing machine. The original was built by by Caterpillar's predecessor, Holt.
I am 67 yrs old but can well remember my teenage years when Mom and Dad took us 4 boys down to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and watched all the old steam tractors, large and small at the Old Threshers Reunion. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and it was so interesting to me. I never used steam to farm with but 2 old tractors, an Oliver 77 and an 88. Also a new 1650 in 1965. Very powerful tractor for its weight class. We also had a Farmall B a Farmall Super M. Another powerful tractor for its class. The 1650 would pull 4 14 bottom plow without to much struggle unless it was muddy. I once remember a wet spring but Dad was going to plow the garden, come hell or highwater. Started with the Super M and within 2 hours we had all stuck except the 1650 as it was at the other farm. I went and brought it back and it then pulled them all out. Good old memories.
I have to say that this person who built the traction track engine is undoubtedly a true AMERICAN. What he dreamed he built. God bless you Sir. Would love to talk to you by phone if at all possible. Please get in touch with me Sir. Thanks

It’s funny because, on average, the Chinese are the most intelligent people in the world. Don’t believe me? Check the research yourself, it’s all there in black and white. That’s not good or bad, it’s not anti-white or anti-asian, it’s just fact. The same way that Asians are generally physically unsuited to winning at Basketball is not good or bad, it’s just fact This is a video about a smart guy building a steam tractor, are you racists so insecure that you have to turn it into a race thing?
It's not the first caterpillar tractor The first tractors they made had metal tires AND THEN FOUNDTHAT THE TRACTOR WAS TO HEAVY AND THE CREATOR SAID "oh tracks with seperate weight to the ground and won't sink"
