This is so sick. Hats off to the the modder! The sub-phases add such a cool touch. This just feels more in tune with the lore to me. Really brings Melania to life as a true formidable opponent. Now that must have felt truly rewarding to complete.

Some say miazaki wanted malenia to be like this in vanilla ER but thr dev team pursued him and changed his mind with a deathblight lake in the DLC

Gotta say, her first phase looks like a genuine improvement. She's no longer passive as hell and how smoothly her animations blend is kinda satisfying. Of course, it then promptly devolves into AnyRadiance style nonsense, but still it has some very neat ideas with storytelling during the fight. Well done!

This is so amazing, I love the helmet break phase with the Cleanrot moves and the true horror phase. So cool.

The first phase looks awesome but the second phase just seems like a complete chaos. It's not particularly fun to watch and I can't imagine it being fun to learn and fight. Still tho the new moves look very impresive and I admire author's creativity

Lore-wise I imagine this is exactly how the bosses were intended. 😯

I love the permanent aeonias. Really feels like a fight on the scale of Radahn. Seeing her fight with the helmet off was very refreshing. I think some of the animations were too fast and felt "unnatural" during phase 2 but overall it's so great to see this boss get so much love from the community. The only thing I cant stand in the fight is her wings. It's just too much visual clutter when I'm supposed to be watching her sword and animations and then suddenly my whole screens taken up by her wings and particle effects.

My toxic trait is thinking this looks easy and I can no diff her

I really like the idea of a rot pool forming and her having a rot aura that slowly builds up your meter. It makes a lot sense for her to have that, even though it would make her fight even more stressful. And being able to use the needle on her is such a cool idea as well.

That is why masochist and sadist should not design souls like bosses.

I like her being a lot more aggro and the Holy Malenia phase, honestly her being even more aggro in pre-bloom seems more fitting to me. The visual clutter and undodgeable status buildup is not welcome though.

I thought I was good at normal Malenia but this...I don't think I could beat this. If I had to try I'd use a ton of levels on vigor and use damage and rot resistance talismans and hope for the best. This was fantastic. I love this mod and thank you for showcasing it. Saving her at the end is awesome as well. I bet fighting normal Malenia for you now is like fighting her in slow motion lol

it took me about 5 hours to beat original melania with no summons so i can only imagine the godly amount time you put into this fight learning her ridiculous moveset, with that being said YOUR CRAZY but also hella talented, good shit

attempt at genuine criticism things I really like: -the fight flows a lot better -the new attacks are beautiful -phase one has a lot of attack opportunities -added speed seems fair but challenging -saving maleina at the end -malenia getting a rot aura near the end -dialogue/lines during the fight things I dislike: -the elongated waterfowl is really unfair as the attack drags on for more that 10 seconds without any counter opportunities -aeonias staying permanently unnessesarily limits battle space and placing it wrong will doom any first second phase attempt -reducing vision is not a good idea,just look at the snowfield,everyone hates it -status healing is 100% required to win,an astonishingly bad decision -shadow clone enlongated waterfowl -the normal shadow clone attack no longer has a punish window,it's ok to have some uncounterable attacks,but long attacks such as this one nees a proper reward for dodging -minor mistakes are punished too harshly ways I would try and fix this: -aeonias aren't permanent,but simply stay for 20 seconds after being deployed before wilting and are deployed throughout the fight more often,so there's always at least one on screen every minute -remove the rotpool in the middle,it has no purpose other than minimizing the already small arena -the fog phase no longer builds rot but you don't loose buildup in its duration -after a particularly difficult to dodge attack,let malenia be open for a reduced damage crit for 5 seconds to let her and the player take a break from the exhaustion and as a reward for dodging -the shadowclone waterfowl deals no damage but has massive rot buildup,malenia still deals damage -make the rot explosion in godess of rot subphase 3 a little smaller or a slightly longer windup,at most +0.5 seconds -6:55 remove the explosion from the backstep,it comes from nothing I believe these changes would make the fight a lot more fair without compromising the difficulty too much opinions? something you'd do differently?
