New York is naturally a very beautiful place.
I have to say, this is much more than a station isn't it?
New Yorkers will take this and they will use it,
and I hope they use it with all their forces,
and with an enormous intensity,
because it has been done for them.
Finding the way in a station is essential,
I wanted to create places that,
delivers the people the sense of comfort
and also delivers the sense of security.
For the first time I use a white painting, isn't it?
It has all the symbolic importance,
even the walls, everything is white.
This person who's coming to New York,
to work very hard, during one day,
maybe living in a very modest house,
and working also in a very modest job.
For this person, is for me is very important,
you are a very important guy for our community,
because finally it's a public work.
This thing is here for you.

Hearing this man speak recharges my spirit enough to keep at it in Archie school.

It feels more like a cathedral when you stand inside and feel the space and purity around you. An awkward silence overcomes you despite the masses of people flowing through every second.

I can see that. I do wonder if he took inspiration from the original WTC. The numerous vertical lines

The city of Milwaukee has dedicated September 16 to Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava to commemorate the Quadracci Pavilion at the Milwaukee Art Museum, completed in 2001

0:03 If you look at the sides a certain way, you can see the outsides of the Twin Towers... at least near the base of the building going up. The Arches, the structure, all of it captured in these.

On 9/11 they open the skylight and at 10:28am, the time the North Tower fell, the sun shines directly down into the lobby, unless cloudy (it was designed at the right angle for this to happen). Looking up it feels like you’re looking up at the two towers.

Great reasons, make the commute to work a joy. Even it my city a fancy statiob works. Building looks a bit wacky on the outside though. Inside it's great, like a cathedral.

Is there a Theatre somewhere inside? We absolutely must bring The Phantom of the Opera back to New York City! And, The Oculus is the place to do just that!

So this is Mr. Calatrava. Thx for "infamous" bridge in Venice. Ask any Venetian what he/she thinks about it and you'll get a curse.

I don't want to say anything negative because I think the building is spectacular, but I was inside it last week and none of the commuters paid any attention to the structure.
