What’s World War Z about?
Former United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt), his wife (Mireille Enos) and their two children enjoy a normal day together when they witness the outbreak of a massive zombie attack on Philadelphia. After escaping the panic stampede generated by the attack, the Lanes take refuge in an apartment complex in Newark. They then receive the help of Gerry’s old friend, deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni (Fana Mokoena) who sends a helicopter to rescue them and put them in safety with another family. However, their rest doesn’t last as the place is soon being attacked by zombies. After joining their building’s roof, the Lanes are saved by a helicopter that takes them to a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier off the coast of New York City with a whole group of other refugees. On board, a team of scientists and military personnel are analyzing the scope of the worldwide outbreak. A virologist, Dr. Andrew Fassbach (Elyes Gabel), argues that the plague is a virus, whose origin must be found in order for a vaccine to be developed. Because of his expertise as a former UN investigator, Gerry is tasked with helping Fassbach find the outbreak's source.

His survival of the crash itself was definitely plot armor. A plane falling from the sky like that uncontrollably into solid ground generally means no one survives. But to be honest from the zombies here it could be considered realistic enough

The real thing that makes these things so much more dangerous is speed. Both in the speed that victims change and in the speed at which they move, they go from 1 loose zombie into an unliving tide in seconds

What makes this move so much scarier than the others, is how aggressive the zombies are, and how SMART they are, like when the "concert" was going on, they heard the screeching, and they KNEW that it was coming from the other side, and the aggressive part comes in, they have no mercy, will kill anything no matter what, climbing up to a helicopter mid-air, no problem, climbing a wall? No problem

The one thing I question about this scene is the fact that it was very quiet in the back. Also the fact that zombie attacking the flight attendant absolutely no one got up and did nothing about it to try and fight back. The snapshots Showed as if no one even knew the lady right in front of them was being attacked and didn’t scream or yell or anything. I love the movie. But seems like this had me very confused.

Don’t know how often you fly but it’s very muffled on a plane even without partitions. people that complain about noisy people are always right next to them not like 2 or 3 rows down. Unless of your screaming at the top of your lungs (which they were and you could hear just muffled) the odds of the other end of the plane hearing you is low.

@@martinhill9561 Honestly Iv been on 4 flights. My issue with the seen was that the Infected was attacking the flight attendant directly in front of the passengers. Not only that but not a single person did nor said anything. In the scene the entire plane was beyond full do to the mass panic. I’d assume every single person on that flight was on high alert after what just happened. So for a extremely violent zombie monster to attack someone in front of, idk, 40-50 people and nothing is said or screamed is kinda sketch. And Iv heard babies crying far back in a plane before.

Imagine dropping one piece of luggage and causing the deaths of 200+ people. But I love how this displays how fast one Zombie can infect a whole plane. It's almost like a virus who multiplies. 2x2=4, 4x4=16, 16x16= 256. Only takes each zomebie to bit another person 3 cycles for them to cover enough people on the plane. Similiar concept to someone giving a penny to someone everyday and doubling it for 30 days, you would have $5,368,709.12 The power of compound interest.

Hmmmm interesting, i have been once wondering for the same. But i think the calculation's wrong. That 16x16, i took it that every one zombie need to bite 16 victims? Aren't w/ the same time frame that required 16 cycles? I think the correct formula would be multiplying it by two. 2x2x2x2.. so every single zombie will infected one victim. Or the victim should be 1+1+2+4+8+16.... One zombie bite one person (add 1), then two zombies bites two persons (add 2), four zombies bites four (add 4) etc until it reach 256. It required nine cycles i thing.

Your math aint mathing. The formula is not x^x (16x16). It's x^2 (16x2). The amount of zombies double every 12 seconds. 12s = 2 24s = 4 36s = 8 48s = 16 64s = 32 80s = 64 96s = 128 112s = 256 Zombies So after about two minutes (8 cycles), one zombie could infect the whole plane. Since the passengers have no weapons, its unlikely that they kill a zombie. This formula assumes, that each zombie needs 12 seconds to find a human and bite him.

Yes. I remember reading the book and two of the stories that i remember and really wanted to see were of course the main one about the last stand. The one were they had all this high tech gear were they used eye cameras to see what each other were seeing. They bombed the fuck out of the majoy hoard coming toward the city. That only stopped a few hundred but the hoard kept coming. Then as they got encroached upon and started all dying, with their eye cameras seeing their fellow comrades getting eaten alive. The major freak out that some had when a few would shoot them in the head ut it didnt kill. So they all start freaking out and screaming head shots don't kill! My second was the helicopter pilot that crashed and had to sleep and stay up in a tree for a while. Idky but that one stuck with me too

But it ended up being they were commanding real ships and people when they thought it was simply to be trained on how to do it. I was super disappointed about that one too :(

The last thing that was said about WWZ2 was that Fincher had considered doing it again after Mank, but chose against it and is now doing another crime movie with Michael Fassbender. Brad Pitt said that the story they had for the film was really good but unless Paramount changes its mind and decides it's a priority, we won't see it in the near future, if at all.

First off, holy shit did (0:00) that scene catch me by surprise. It was so unexpected and truly the best jump scare I've seen from any movie. Now don't get me wrong some good horrors also contain jump scares, but just imagine, out of a blue, a zombie just bursts through and you can't do anything about it other than get so scared you freeze from horror.

When they left Israel, always thought it was weird that a whole squad was able to flag down the jet, but only two mad wit aboard. The other soldiers couldn’t possibly have chosen to stay behind considering the state of the airport. Although who knows they might have had evac.

Just like how the first class tried to run to the pilots, the coach passengers would have run to the first class at first sight of zombies. No way they all just quietly decided to be eaten in coach without trying to escape at least.

Easy: through the wheel well, then some "motivated" hunt and seek to get into the internal elevator system. Once that it is breached it isn't hard to move into the actual plane via a coincidental door opening. Or so they tell me. =)
