To all those people critical of his English; he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, he is working on learning English and Chinese, he sings in twelve (yes 12!) languages.
He does study Chinese (Mandarin). He even has to, he has moved to China some while ago! XD (Which was kind of a logical step, as he has at least 75% of his performances in China) However, he even said himself, that he hasn't had a lot of spare time in the last year. Apart from the whole music related and media related stuff, he studies Mandarin, especially the Chinese script takes a lot of time, he studies English (but doesn't have that much time for it as he'd like to have), he still has to study for university (he's doing another a postgraduate education) and to take exams, he still has his regular swim training etc...
Leonie Coetzer Dimash is definitively learning mandarin and english; you get to see those proofs on interviews or behind scenes; just check it yourself I'm too lazy to provide links lol. He's a hard working young man, of course he would try and learn more languages. Those last years he gained so much fans from China (thanks to the show The Singer) and then the rest of the world. His biggest dream is to show his country Kazakhstan to the rest of the planet. And yes for professionnal reasons if you want to be successful it's easier to speack mandarin and english.
Honestly As an American I am ashamed that people would even bring up a foreigners english accent. Too many Americans think that everyone who comes here should just 'speak english'.... Or even worse...the americans who visit foreign countries and want THEM to be able to speak english. Instead of learning the native language or preparing before the trip. Honestly alot of Americans have this superiority complex not just about language, not all obviously but ALOT.
In China, people were happy him singing in Chinese with an accent or not. They just appreciated that he did sing in their language. But it is in China.
That Really irritates me as well ,and it is why our youth are stunted while rest of the world's youth are far more cultured. We should be the last nation earth insulting other languages.
Just want to comment on how SUPERFICIAL some people can be criticizing his English. He is only 24 years old. He has accomplished more then most people could accomplish in several lifetimes. His stunning singing ability in multiple languages, his instrument mastery of several musical instruments, studying to learn multiple foreign languages, very high marks all through school and college, additional time dedicated to music study from a young age, presently working on his Masters Degree, multiple concerts and appearances to date, sports, family, friends....all while maintaining a wonderful balance of professionalism and humility. I think some people need to go tuck their tails between their legs or crawl under a rock. Seriously!!!!
Seriously, yes, I couldn't possibly agree more. BTW, Dimash is no longer working on his Master's Degree; he graduated almost a year ago. How many of his critics have ever had any training in music or graduated with a Master's degree. He is currently working on his doctorate. It always drives me sad, very, very sad when I read criticisms about Dimash's English. Americans and other native English speakers tend -- almost all of them -- to be arrogant about their English (which many of them are even not capable of spelling or writing impeccably). They do not speak any other languages. If they can say "hola" in Spanish, they think that they speak Spanish! International communication is possible only because we, non-native English-speakers, spend years, and years in learning it.
@@seppokanerva7399 That is awesome. Many of us haven't accomplished the many things people like Dimash have accomplished, however, Dimash is an inspiration. No matter what age, we can all appreciate real people.
I totally agree with you Debra95621. The World is ready for Dimash, he is the most amazing vocalist in the WORLD. I still love Adam Lambert too, the two of them singing together would blow a World stage to kingdom come.
As a professional I think you would be interested to know that he did a song in kazk as his first song that night. You can hear the last traditional notes in the beginning. The traditional band flew to America to perform. He also dedicated it to his parents and was so proud to represent his culture and country. But all of that was cut out! People that were there have posted that in judges and audience many were crying, it was really emotional. Whole performance was over 6 minutes and it was chopped into 2 minutes. That is show business, understand that but it is sad 😭
Great, great lesson and reaction. Ken. Very appreciative sharing your piece of music knowledge. Dimash commands the stage all the time. He is one of the greatest if not the greatest during this generation, as young as he is to have this music and vocal excellence under his belt. Thank you and will be following you in your new Dimash marathon.
Im from Philippines but i so love Dimash. I admire his talent! He is unreal! Speaking about talent, well he has it totally! Just a humble guy! Thanks ken for a very pleasant and very informative reaction. God bless you.
I'm a filipina....I don't have a singer idol ever since...When I open my RU-vid and start to hear this guy DIMASH ..When he compate in China the singer....What I can say OMG this is it...First time in my life even I can't understand the song he sing...THE TIRED SWAN my tears falling until now I always lustened his songs ...ONE WORD I CAN SAY...HE'S NOT A HUMAN ...He's an angel ...
Thanks for your great analysis and your praise for this incredible singer who needs to be brought to the notice of the world with his unique style of what I term as FUSION of all genres from Rock Opera; Neo-Classical; Pop-Opera; Soul. I hope this TWB show will help to introduce him to a larger audience. Keep On Keeping On.
Dimash has great technique for being so young with a long future for so much growth! Hope I'm still alive when he fully matures with his voice so I can hear him and get more goosebumps with every performance!
I just want to say that you’re the best vocal coach. You’re fair and honest person in your reactions. Thanks also for defending Dimash dear specifically wt his pronunciation in English. And you have a very powerful voice too! I love your reaction. Godbless!❤️❤️❤️
Dear Ken, after your explanation and I saw your reaction and honest opinion, I think your professional opinions are the best I've seen. I better understand the details of how a singer's voice and ability are critiqued. I am originally from Ukraine and we believe that some people have a special soul. I think you are one of those special people and I thank you for the great job. I have forwarded your video to my friends and they all enjoyed your observations about Dimash. It would be nice if some day you can meet Dimash in person.
You left me wanting more ... ending very abrupt. Of all the reaction videos as well as vocal coaching, I love yours and Tara Simon's because at least you give a "sampler" (of your own awesome voice) in addition to the technicalities of voice mastery. Kudos Ken, looking forward to the Dimash-eton!
Thanks for your reaction and explanation!!! Sincerely I've never seen and heard so many vocal coaches all over YT to study a singer, so I must conclude, yes he is an alien, an ufo in our sky and I wish he will all bring us in heaven😍😍😍
Ken You are the best person I've ever seen on the Internet. Your reactions and Your skill are mesmerizing. Hats off to You. Thank you for these reactions! You shout Bravo of Mother Russia
Ken, I really love your videos and how you explain things. I am not a singer, but I find it so interesting. Thank you for reacting to Dimash. You have a beautiful voice as well! Love and light from Hawai’i. 🌺
You are amazing.....professional as always, everything you say is very constructive and objective....as concerning Dimash, it is very difficult to build a song in two minutes when the song is actually four minutes or more, him being a very complex singer, but he was awsome, just as you always said, and coming from you is impressive....thank you for your "singing lessons", because they are not just simple reactions!!!!💗
He did not have to costruct the song. His performance was over 6 minutes long, he did a part of a kazak song first, thats why the clothes and the traditional band in the background and you can hear the last traditional notes just before he starts All by myself. It was just all cut out in editing and they only showed his high notes and belts, because it fits the format better, I guess 😭
Dang Ken!!! You've got quite the phenomenal voice yourself. The fact that you've given yourself to teaching others to sing great, even though you're being paid for it, I think is just absolutely great! God bless you for that Brother!!
Oooh, I'm happy because I'll be seeing your comments for a large number of Demach This person is my favorite singer You are my favorite commentator Seeing a number of videos together is great I'm excited for the next
Thanks so much for your reaction, I respect you very much because you know what you're talking about. I simply love Dimash and everything he does, he’s the bests 🤩
I have the greatest RESPECT for you Ken..giving another young artist a chance well deserved to be recognised is HUGE...recognising his Talend and taking a bow out of respect is rare and Huge artist to artist...He is not an Alien (although I often comment that he is) he is an humble human being and his interviews often declared that he is open to constructive criticism and he is working hard to improve..So thank you on his behalf and of course on all Dimash fans..we are willing to learn ..
Great reaction. Thanks, Ken. You are awesome too. I agree, in this performance Dimash was "screechy" in a part of it. However, if you watch his song "Sinful Passion" you'll see he's perfectly able to "round" those high pitches - as you suggested. I prefer these round sounds too. It's clear he doesn't want to just sound operatic, but to do a blend of music styles, which is awesome. Looking forward to your future reactions. ✌👌👏👏👏❤
As for Dimash's English. We hope ,believe he will study it in some time😉. But I like listen even not words, but his voice. I am Russian, live and was born in Kazakhstan. All people love him as a singer as a great, kind and wonderful person. Could you imagine, he will give concert in Kazakhstan in Summer, and he said that organisators have to do and sell more "social" tickets for his people . It will cost from 1,5 usdollar😲. Because he wants all people could come and buy this tickets
Amazing details and superb exemplification. Loved Dimash since the Chinese show. And I like your way of explaining things very much. Please , please try meet Dimash. You two together could create some unbelievable stuff. I am sure you could try contact him through..friends. Loved this !
when Di came to London the local vocal reactor (those that genuinely supported him (he does notice)... got to come see him on free ticket etc...Emre the Turkish vocal coach who really brought his technique to the youtube from Singer - travelled to KZ as he got chosen to be a judge in some competition and got very good time with Dimash ))xxx
OMG! Ken, I agreed from all of what you have said. As far as the English language, shame on people who can't sing different languages left alone speak of Kazakhstan language, and judging Dimash accent? I want to hear them try at least the Russian songs or Mandarin songs. Why is it that every singing performance must be judged by how innunciation the English should sounds like? Remember, Americans are multicultural, and we are trying hard to understand people speaks English at work or to any places we go, and they perform the job best. Sooo...glad you reacted on Dimash song. Thank you Ken.
A great reaction, as always. Just thinking....., hey, the dreams are for free ... but man, just imagine if you were his mentor, the world would get even more of this talent. And here I am not talking about his voice or his technique. Somehow I know, I feel that this young man carries in itself a new concept of music as music at all, but he needed loving caring and knowledgeable hands served as midwife to the birth of a new more comprehensive works of music. What his parents and teachers have taught him so far is great, but he is ready to grow it over their capabilities and concepts. Thank you man, I love your personality, your attitude, your passion for music, and wish you all the best of everithing!
2:40 exactly! “You don’t speak his language.” I am sooo with you on this. This is a bit off topic, which is about music, but mocking some talented’s accent is just an easy way of expressing JEALOUSY.
Thank you very much, Ken, for your reaction, review and opinion regarding our beloved Dimash! It's really vivid and impressive to watch over your vocal coach analysis. The guy has his own Dimash-vocal-style, and we're so in love with that fact and with his great unique voice! :) Yeah, Dimash is absolutely killing it! But you, man, are killing it (your job) as well! Keep doing your awesome videos! Love from Dimash's Dears.
See this is why I love watching Nr Tamplin. He gives credit where credit is due, I love watching his videos and with great respect to him. Mr Tamplin always backs his things with examples. He is great 👍 I started watching others but they cannot explain or be positive. If I ever could have experienced having a coach Mr Tamplin would be number 1
Hey please check out the auditions for Barry Gibb. They are planning on doing a movie. You can do the singing, you rock the hair, and you can okay guitar, so my thinking is you could do it great! Check it out Mr Tamplin.
Hey Ken thanks for your great voice and teaching/Educating us all about vocals.. I tell everyone remember it's just a show... They like Controversy. Faith Hill McGraw is a country singer and they don't like all that theatrics like with the Mic and kneeling and arms out. Dimash has a little time to show his techniques so he has to do a lot in a small amount of time :) There are a lot of child prodigies out there :) Dimash is just pushing the Bar Higher like Usain Bolt Sprinter, Williams Sisters in Tennis , and Tiger Wood In Golf all did in their sports :) The Nun was not the World's Best Only The World's Best Nun singer lol They will have many shows if this format makes money for CBS ... Like Rupaul said, He is the REASON for The World's Best to be CREATED :) Waiting for another FREE Vocal Lesson with some history added in :) Hey your not arrogant we see you have a great voice be proud of it.. FACT 2 to 5% of people are TONE DEAF of course there are Jealous people added in... But don't ever let that bother you. I think a little Genetics played a little part in his abilities but like you said His Techniques are perfect and he knows them all :)
Dear KEN ....You are Really Masterpiece..😊 They're are CUT 2 MINUTES FROM THAT SONG 🙄 THANKS SOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR WONDERFUL COMMENT 🌹💖 GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS
I know Dimash is good because you said he is good and I love his voice too. But after all seeing your channel and comments I think you are a musical Genius
You are the best vocal coach ever . Man u have proved that proof is in singing . I am currently 15 (and I am a baritone) I have decided to buy your vocal course when I start doing part time job and afford the course 😊
Ken I love your videos and I truly believe you are one of the best around as for your technical habilities, I also ike the way you explain and the style you've got when singing. With that being said it was funny to me when you said on the video you are not arrogant even tho the title of the video is: "Worlds Best Vocal Coach Reaction To ..." hahaha.
Ken, thank you for adding the reaction section to your channel. I enjoyed watching you break down and analyze the singers. I’m definitely looking forward to Dimash-a-thon.

Can not even fathom what this fantastic singer does throughout his days. His parents are great as well. But his parents and grandparents helped him to succeed. Amazing.
