Greatest rhythm section ever?! Hardly. John Entwhistle and Kieth Moon are tops, hands down not even questionable. Bonzo and JPJ were also much better, as well as Neil Peart and Geddy Lee (this combo mostly due to Peart having consistently been rated as greatest R&R drummer of all time), McCartney and Starr, I'd also list Carl Palmer & Greg Lake (ELP), Clive Bunker w/ Glen Cornick (Jethro Tull classic lineup '68-70, listen to Tull's 2nd album STAND UP, '69); ... and others.

...and Mick Taylor.

The Who has the greatest rhythm section. PERIOD. Arguably the greatest bass player and drummer : John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

That thing ALWAYS sends chills down my spine. That was a monster bass line. Bill was their secret weapon...i can't imagine an old stones tune without Bill, he really drove those songs with that blazing menacing tone...

I'm honestly such a fan of the original stones lineup, with brian and bill, i don't honestly feel that strongly for mick taylor, even though he is a good guitarist, i don't think he was all that suited to the stones style

They would have him in a heart beat but it's Bill who doesn't want to do it. His choice.

If I understood correctly, Mick and Keef always insisted on that the music and the lyrics were theirs, even when Bill, Charlie and even Mick Taylor contributed extensively to songwriting, sometimes (like the riff of of Street Fighting Man come from Bill Wyman). So I understand that they dont want to work too much with their old bandmates, even if they seem to be in quite friendly terms. Which is good. It is just something to realize.

The interviewer was terrible in my humble opinion. But, we learned a lot here.. and as always, Bill Wyman is the perfect gent you said he was.

That and having many bass parts overdubbed by Keith and waiting for him for hours to show up to the studio during his junkie years finally wore him out. He said he wished he had left much earlier. Don't blame him!

Dating a 13 year old may have had something to do with him leaving.

Bill wasn't bad but the real underrated bassist was Paul McCartney. As with his song writing was in a league of his own.

When I heard the more recent stuff the band has done there really is something missing because Bill really played the bass and unlike many bass players he was obsessed with playing 'bass' and certainly did some excellent and important contributions. They have one of the best players now with Daryl Jones but I still prefer Bill's style and sound

@@jonesy2111 It's funny, Daryl Jones is great, but I too miss Wyman. I think all musicians have way of playing that marks them somehow. You can get two guys together and they learn the same song note for note but it would be a tad different for each one. Wyman had exactly the right sound for the stones.

Agreed. Only survived the whole video because Bill is very nice and interesting guy. Wanted to know more about him. Felt the interview was spoiled. So much more to Bill Wyman. A good interviewer would have drawn that out. Gentle questions and very long silences.

I thought the woman was impossible. But Bill pulled it off beautifully and answered all her questions!

I doubt she even knew who Bill was. She doesn't respect him. She sounds impatient, she doesn't want to be there.

@Mister Peppercorn your right Bill and Charlie are the glue they were both the engine were it all originally ran on to me Bill and Charlie are the most important members in the stones no Bill no Charlie no Stones from the day Wyman left I knew it was over for good when Bill left The Stones we’re never never the same from the day bill left there music was always missing the groove and the swing that Bill gave and put into the stones sound for decades and after bill left they never got back on track again voodoo lounge was a decent stones album but if Wyman was on it it whould of been way way better it was still missing the swing from Wyman bass playing the secret to the stones sound the blending of each stone Mick sings Keith plays guitar Ronnie on guitar Bill on bass Charlie plays drums without Bill and Charlie there not really the stones after Wyman left in 1993 the whole band should of broke up and retire for good now Watts is no longer with us anymore he died a year ago now there’s really no point or reason for the stones to go on and continue anymore now there down to 2 original members Mick and Keith what good is a stones concert without Bill and Charlie they should retire already they all should of retired a very very long long time ago when Wyman retired

@@misterpeppercorn3078 to me that’s what made the stones Bill and Charlie they both put the sound into the stones even from the day Bill left the stones Keith said in an interview the stones have just lost half of the engine half of the stones engine just broke off and feel but atleast the other half of the engine is still on it didn’t break of and fall it’s still on and now the other half of the engine is gone for good and can never be replace bill was a one of a kind bass player he can never be replaced ask any bass player there gonna say Bill can never be replaced they will say the stones should of called it a day and gave up retire that’s what they should of did the stones are no longer the band that we love now they became a finical enterprise doing it for the money for decades they were millionaires now there the Disneyland of Rock there just making fools out of themselves they carried on so long it was ridiculous they had way way to many farewell tours that it was ridiculous what good is a stones concert when there missing the true heart of the stones to me Bill and Charlie were the heart and soul of the stones they put the swing into the stones to me Bill and Charlie will always be the stones they should of retired many many years ago

@@fevertreeful you are shallow, her interviewing skills were shite, lacking in timing and humour, she had poor Bill on the edge of his seat nervous, a good interviewer would relax their subject into it, not all her fault though she was under time pressure.

She's too wordy and tends to interrupt Bill and force the interview. Trying to push too much. Very beautiful woman, but needs to listen more and talk less.

Brian Jagger ,Keith, Charlie Wyman, are asaloultey the originals ,they were all there in 1964.

Brian was the best and most inventive musician. Taught Mick the harmonica, and helped Keith with the washing up., and the ironing.

Bill is often overlooked and underrated because he wasn't flashy or trying to be/play like a guitarist he understood intrinsically that the bass is important and I can't think of anyone who has played so much for the song and sound not to get attention

Who wouldn't having played in the RS Band for 30 years!? Lol
