Ah, yes. The more recent TicketMaster reference. Gotta love those resemblances of bad stuff. Sorry, I tend to rip on big corporations when anything goes awry.
I personally feel they've done early access too early in the past. By the time the pack was actually released, we had spent weeks watching an overload of videos and it almost felt like there was nothing to discover when finally getting to play the pack. From a marketing standpoint, I could see the appeal in keeping everything secret and delayed so that when the pack releases its more exciting for players.
They did. I just can't remember which pack which I know isn't helping this argument. I'm just thinking funny how the people doing the early access stuff get accused of lying unless they say said content is trash. Now how dare it's looking like they aren't getting enough time to review. 🤷♀️
I think I'd do it in between. I agree it's been done super early (2 weeks ahead)- so maybe a week ahead would be the sweet spot? Not sure. I do feel the creators also get very little time- I imagine rushing out videos would be stressful
@@skyegroome223 yeah, it's a 50/50 to me. Good promo rather than just the trailers, but then by the time I get the pack, record, edit and upload; people already deep into videos from people jn the creator network but I also feel like it would be the same even if they didn't have early access.
I don’t mind them giving the pack early to content creators but I really hate how it’s always the same people get the access and the invites to ea and get to build for the pack. I’m just gonna say it, little simsie is the blandest content creator in the world and she makes terrible houses that all look the same and are worse than mine, while creators like Erin and Satch and anyone who may not praise the game even when it’s loaded with bugs aren’t given copies.
@@jaybee4288 I actually like the gurus builds. Not sure if this is the goal but I like how it's so basic we can put our own touch in without cheating money or for our sim to earn the money. I know some will call that part of the challenge but then why complain about the gurus' builds? While I feel like the risk of having creator network members do the builds is a style I don't like so I'm pretty much redoing everything. They probably stick with the same people because of the praise players give. I know Dr. Gluon would make a messy house. 😆
Never pre-order wait for reviews and wait for sale. It’s the same story over an over. Happens with Sims 4 packs and it happens with big game launch titles( remember Cyberpunk 2077).
Generations was my favorite pack in Sims 3 and I don’t complain about every little detail when it comes to sims packs. I haven’t pre ordered. I’m waiting on the game to come out to buy it. I will be watching videos about the reviews of course, but I’m still buying it!! I see people complain about all kinds of packs and never seem to be happy with nothing but I’m not like that. The game looks amazing. I’m so excited to play it on the 16th
I honestly do think the pack has tons of potential! While I understand the concerns, I don't think the reviews are in of themselves anything especially alarming
@@layelee They will still get the pack for free most likely, just won't have early access. Not that I see things the way you said, I genuinely think most of the reviews out there by EA Creator Network members are honest, but a lot of people are still going to say those kind of things no matter what.
My concern about early access is that I'd hope that they might find bugs earlier. Given some packs are still politely described as glitchy, the more time they had to find and fix issue before it hits the full public would be better. It's why I won't pre-order - I don't trust the game to not be massively buggy, so I'll wait until it sounds like it has been fixed
I think we just have to see! Simmers are wise to wait, and see what the patch and pack actually hold. People get burned when they get too eager and hype up things in their minds - before seeing the actual pack reviews.
I'm not that worried with this pack, because with MWS, you could see the bugs and glitches right in the gameplay livestream. This one seemed to go off basically seamlessly. The Gurus didn't seem worried, to me they seemed genuinely proud of what they have accomplished. That is a good sign to me.
The baby backpack probably works like Climbing gear in Snowy escape, as in it is an item that is in the inventory with an icon of some sort and you toggle it on or off from inventory, and thus it doesn't have a model in build-buy.
Might not be the case. If you look at every CAS item in the Snowy Escape promotion, they don't have the rock climbing gear shown. There are helmets and gloves in CAS, but putting them on your cold weather outfit does not count as climbing gear. The helmets and gloves in CAS are there for skiing and snowboarding, while the climbing gear is something you buy and looks like a package. I hope I'm wrong though.
Baby carrier shown in CAS along side with clothing and hat are not accessories. I agreed with Erin it's strange these are CAS not accessories. We'll see when it releases.
@@ShellyBellyXOXO Could be true, good point. I just thought what would make sense for me, because you need to wear and un-wear the baby thing anyway in-game.
I'm glad you brought up the infants being brought out so close to the pack. I hadn't taken that into consideration when trying to figure out why they were not allowing Game Changers the usual early access time. While I'm still going to wait and see, it makes me a little more optimistic.
The HSY patch came out two days before HSY too, and while all those changes don't quite add up to something like infants, they were still big changes. So maybe this is the new norm, for patches/EPs to be so close together? Considering how HSY also broke most mods, maybe they're trying to help the modders out so they aren't reworking everything a week later 😂
I thnk maybe the baby carriers are shown as cas items guz they kinda are? Like the hidden cas stuff that so up when ur sims does something in-game… for example the rollerblades they too are hidden ‘cas’ items… but this is just a thought who rlly knows at this point
@@musicalblonde9187 seasons comes with the roller en skate rink… and how it works is that the shoes are hidden cas items and the wheels/skatingblades are animated(i believe) and they show up based on which rink u use
@@layelee oh my goodness, duh! I totally forgot about that feature from seasons! Thank you so much! I get what you mean about rollerblades and ice skates being hidden CAS then.
i'm not much of a conspiracy theorist, i tend to take things at face value most times. and with my wedding stories the writing was on the wall from day one. the livestream was a hot awkward mess and we all saw it. then on top of that the gurus were basically radio silent leading up to the release of that one and there just wasn't any excitement surrounding it, and those were both very telling things in themselves. the gurus aren't paid to be promoters and marketers of their packs (to my knowledge) they are just paid to do the work of making them, so i tend to gauge an upcoming packs viability based on the gurus attitudes around it. and for this one the gurus seem to be genuinely excited for it to release, as well as proud of the work they all did on it, and to me that's a good sign (just like it turned out to be a good sign for werewolves). my only personal complaint is the same one i always have. i get the decision from a business perspective, and from a business perspective its smart, but i really do get tired of them always collabing with james turner, lilsimsie, deligracy, and plumbella. i get it, they have the biggest social media followings, therefore the biggest marketing audiences. and i also get that companies aren't going to prop up and promote smaller creators when it doesn't benefit the company to do so, they are a for profit business after all. but it doesn't change the fact that there are so many creative simmers out there with so many unique and fresh ideas, who always get overlooked. Pugowned is basically my go to for realistic looking pets, she puts SO much time and effort into her gallery uploads. Doctor_Ashley and AvelineYT make some very cute builds and i find myself frequently using their uploads in my games as well. and lastly, Simproved built the crane house that Knox Greenburg lives in with his mothers in eco lifestyle. whether that house is to your personal taste or not, you can't deny how much CREATIVITY and vision went into that build. but NONE of those simmers ever get featured in anything (to my knowledge) and that is just scratching the surface in the sims community. instead, they always stick with the same holy trinity of simmers that they always do, and i just find it frustrating to see the same names pop up again and again.
it sure was. the livestream showed us so clearly how broken it was. While a livestream will not show all issues, at very least this pack appears to be far more functional
They also make it out like these guys are the best builders/players. James is admittedly very good builder. But the rest are no better than me and nowhere close to the top gallery builders. I find simsie to be arrogant given how every house she makes is the exact same and she doesn’t understand the fundamentals of what a starter house should be. I delete her stuff immediately. Agree that they should use Dr Ashley more, she’s great.
I agreed to the point except if Sims Gurus are genuinely excited for Growing Together pack, then they should have nothing to hide and show off their work
I think they have though? The livestream showed most of it running and they’re tweeting all the time. I think it’s more difficult to manage such a big patch alongside the pack release. The patch is required for get together so this is two things they have to give streamers early access to, and there’s potential they could hack/leak it.
It really might be because of past leaks - I can see that easily. Maybe at this point it doesn’t matter as much if more of this particular pack leaks, but if they’re trying to turn the culture towards respecting embargos and weed out which creators might be responsible for leaks, I can see a policy of holding tighter - fewer people have access for less time. Leaks then become both less likely and easier to trace.
I have heard certain companies such as Google and Apple have been making changes to the back end of their systems. Google especially, and a lot of providers have been essentially locked out as a result. They made those changes without warning too. Caused havoc with my boss' business. This started around November last year and I've noticed there have been a lot more large companies having to take their systems offline for maintenance a lot more since, such as banks and government departments. Wouldn't be surprised if EA was affected too.
Not related to Sims but Apple needs to get their **** together and stop doing less than bare minimum, for example the music memo app was amazing, it had that amazing key tuning feature and then boom, they removed the app from App Store and the new Voice Memo is so terrible…EA is not the only one cutting corners it seems…
That baby update should have been a week earlier than the pack. Also, even if RU-vidrs get the EP early, how are they even about to play it without the baby update???🤔
they get a separate temporary copy of the game, at least they did in past releases. usually has a watermark with their username flying around on the screen to show its not the normal screen. Usually only has the basegame and pack they have early access to.
The baby carrier could work like the helmet for the bikes. The helmet pops up on the sim when they ride the bike, but I believe you can also select to wear the helmet in CAS, at least in my game you can. Also the towel, you can change into it but also select it in CAS.
That’s my thought/hope - that it will be like helmets (or work outfits) and the Sims can put them on for the right situation but they’re just also available in CAS…
I don't know about baby carrier but Helmet Is accessory not clothing. So I hope baby carrier is not part of clothing and should be able to put in inventory.
@@lawrencekling8598 Helmets appear when you ride a bike, but they are also available in CAS as hats. Unfortunately, you can’t pick WHICH helmet you get when you have one just appear… but it’s certainly possible that they’ve made the carriers work the same way. Hopefully at least with the added factor of being able to choose a style and have it in your inventory like Snowy Escape’s skis… but the skis aren’t CAS items
People go into looking at leaks thinking they are harmless, but companies watch how we react to products, leaked early or otherwise. So when leaks are a BIG issue across Sims 4 as a whole, I'm not surprised that EA is tightening security, and I don't think it matters how little a leak would affect Growing Together, I believe it's a general statement on where they are trying to go with their narrative.
I plan to buy this pack on release day, because I don't trust pre-ordering. I love the cas and bb!!! I think it's very strange only a few EA Creator Network members are getting early access, and it seems strange it's only a few days before release, but I don't know what to make of that
I really want to see how this pack performs in gameplay because it's an ambitious pack and looks to be huge. Lots of CAS, BB and potentially gameplay. I'm wondering about lag and bugs, especially for simmers who have all or most of the packs already.
I suspect there will certainly be some- my hope is that they are manageable and not over the top bad. livestream went pretty well! but it does need to be seen with other packs
I don’t really care for early access content bc I do want to explore the pack myself. Getting a honest review is good but at the same time I don’t want it to effect my first impressions either. I think they showed us a good amount of gameplay during live stream and we’ve seen a lot of the build buy cas items as well so they probably don’t feel like they need to do a lot of early access. I think they made the carriers the same as dog leashes maybe? Like you chose which one you want and you just click on your sim to wear baby or something, which could save some in game time maybe? I don’t know but I don’t mind it
I actually like that theres very little early access. I think this pack will have a lot to discover that hasn't been showcased or mentioned yet and I'm kind of excited to find them on my own. I'm a farm girl and with the early access videos from Cottage Living, it was just agonizing having to wait and actually just watching non-farmers play and get frustrated because of the amount of care the animals needed 😅😂. I made sure I watched the full Growing Together live stream because I wanted to see if/how buggy it was going to be as I did not want another My Wedding Stories. The fact that everything in the live stream worked darn near flawlessly aside from the kid beginning the walk before the grandma got there, told me that either 1) they've put effort into this pack and its actually well functioning or 2) they've done an unbelievably impressive job of hiding the bugs that they absolutely couldn't hide in the My Wedding Stories live stream. I was iffy when Werewolves came out (as I'm sure we all were), and thankfully it functions much better than My Wedding Stories did. However, I do use 2 mods to improve it. I totally agree that caution is good and I was until I watched the live stream, but I've actually got hopes for Growing Together. I'd honestly love to see EA produce a fully functional pack for the first time in forever. We shall all find out fairly soon 🤞
I personally think this is going to run really well. Things like the kid starting the walk before the elder gets there, this... I guess it’s a bug, but it’s also just sims 4 😂😂. I’d be shook if the walks all went fine every single time because they didn’t in SE! 😁
I'm the opposite of you but I know how to grow some veggies and if given a plant, it won't die easily. 😅 Anywho, I have to agree with you on the limited early access.
interesting. I can see why some would feel that way. My stance is people can sort of ignore reviews if they are there, but it's good to have for those who want them.
I’m pretty sure that it’s just a ton of work to do ultra early access ( and a ton of logistical complexities and tech stuff to get all the people the beta and worry about things being taken out of context) and all the game changers need access to the infant patch for a lot of growing together’s features so we will probably get just a few days of early access with a fully polished pack rather than like, a week with a early copy. I think baby carriers look like they’ll work like knifty knitting- like how you can drag the clothing in and out of inventories but you can still put them on. I personally like the cas. Some of the outfits remind me of things I wore when I was younger and it has some cute and relatively timeless outfits that I can see mixing well with cottage living, Inchon arrivals, snowy escape, and maybe even some of the werewolves cas! The build buy also looks like it would mesh well with other packs , which I think is a pretty good thing. This pack does have a feeling of it being designed to nicely weave and knit itself into the game like seasons.
that's very sweet of you! On the plus side for me ha I do think it might be a lot of pressure and stress. and sadly, it seems a lot of people I interact with inherently won't trust anyone in the network. I disagree with this stance, personally- I think everyone needs to be looked at as an individual
I’m really just excited abt having more natural hair options for my black sims 😭 nothing else in cas stands out lol I’m happy abt the gameplay tho seeing as I’m big on familial gameplay
If they have way less people, it's less likely something will be leaked yeah I can understand that. It is a little sad in a way though, I feel bad that only a few get that privelege, I also wish they'd showcase more people from the network- so many good creators
I don’t know, maybe I’m just done with the sims but this smells like My wedding stories all over again lol I really hope not, I want to try this one out
Yeah I agree. I wont buy this, I stopped playing sims 4 after batuu, and I'm playing sims 2 and 3 and I have never been happier! Boycott sims 4, that's the only thing that will make EA change
@@NathalieCwiekSwiercz actually competition will make them improve. I don't think they feel threatened by Paralives, it is too indie and they'll just mine the best parts of it for Sims 5. However, the Paradox Life by You will have them (EA) pushing to ensure they deliver bug free or less buggy feature rich DLCs.
@@NathalieCwiekSwiercz I think changes are a'comin' regardless of whether we boycott Sims 4 or not. We've got Paralives and Life by You (led by Rod Humble of Sims 2 AL fame - he always brings the computer in the game 😅) on the horizon, so they're about to have two major life sim competitors. They seem to be trying to wrap up Sims 4 with a bang, so the negativity will follow them less when Project Rene comes out. We've always said that it's the lack of competition that's made us slaves to the shoddy work EA is known for. Welp, here it comes. They're gonna have to step their bussy up.
another high quality video! you're my go-to channel for all sims updates and i've been out of commission the last couple weeks so this was very needed! thank you :D
I don't think the early access thing is that big of a deal. They seem really proud of this pack, as they should, and I think they want it to be as much as a surprise to as many people as possible. They're really hyping it up.
You are one of the only people I trust to tell the Sims news like it is. Most creators either predict the worst or are overly optimistic but you tend to stick to the facts and I love u for that 💕💕
Thanks, Susan! I try my best to not be sensational ha. Carl is an excellent creator you might like though he uploads less frequently (he's working on tons of mods). Plumbella I will say usually has a fairly even look at things too
I think Carl is a bit too negative. I do like him, LGR and Satch but their problem is partially that they want sims to be something it is not. Complaints about bugs and things are fine but ‘it’s not hard enough’ or ‘there should be equal male CAS to female CAS’ or ‘i am not a family player so this family pack everyone loves is bad’ or the super annoying ‘this should be in base game because it was in sims 2’... these just don’t really have too much merit. While their opinion is as valid as anyone else the target audience for the sims isn’t 40 year old men who had a great time with sims 2 and wish sims 4 would recapture that for them. A lot of what they complain about are design choices that the majority of the audience are happy with/not upset by. As for Plumbella she tows the line between being critical but she’s also ‘sold out’ at times too. For all her criticisms of kits she was more than happy to make one and didn’t buck the trend or anything. I do understand if you get offered great opportunities it’s hard to say no, but I wouldn’t say she’s entirely impartial.
i think theyre limiting access to those who actually increase sales tbh. it seems theyre focused on the ones that they can trust too. there has been so many leaks so they may be trying to take control of that. like if you give access to 3 people and something leaks its easy to figure out who did it. and the water mark can be removed by tech savvy people so.
I genuinely don’t understand why preorder a service. It takes one minute to buy the game and install it and there is no possibility it gets sold out. So I don’t understand 🤷♀️. That said, I’m a little worried about the short early access. For the gameplay depth I’m expecting, two weeks would’ve not been enough to get a full understanding of everything (I’m thinking that the full experience of the ep comes from playing at least a full sim life). So two days to give a review is kind of scaring. The only reasoning I can think off (and is mostly my wishful thinking writing 😂) is that there are too many functionalities related to other packs, so they don’t want game changers to play just with base game and growing together.
pre orders for physical things, perhaps but not sure about any advantage for digital? yeah, it's also hard for them honestly! That's got to be a lot of pressure with so little time
this made me go check my pre-order. It turns out my order didn't go through either. I paid for mine like a week ago! Also for some reason it says gift on it. Has anyone else seen that? This is the first pack I've bought of the EA app.
personally i find the cas and build buy phenomenal. i think its going to be stuff ill use all the time. often sims stuff is too niche. i think this stuff is super useable and versatile.
0:51 Okay so Yeah this happened to me too. I paid for the preorder 3 weeks ago. I only just got billed for it today which really defeats the purpose. This didn't ever happen to me when I used origins
@@SimmerErin Not at all I used a debit card the same thing happened with High School years but the payment didn't fully process until 2 days after release. I couldn't even cancel my payment because it said I owned the game but didn't allow me to download it.
I appreciate your videos so much, Erin. Please continue to be this honest. I know its just sims but your videos also offer so much food for thought. I hope you are well!
I'm just seeing the CAS and BB catalogue now and personally... It feels like base game. The style, the colors, the aesthetic, it feels like... Basegame 2 for me. Same style and feel, just... More.
@LayeLee You know what, that makes a lot of sense. I was going to hold off before but if PayPal is having issues via the EA App, I definitely need to not make that purchase until fixed.
Thinking about it, I honestly don't care how many people have early access right now. I saw the live stream, I watched videos of people breaking down the live stream for the viewers in the back, and I'm pretty certain I know that I will be getting this pack. As far as the CAS goes, I don't get people's gripes with them for the most part. Yes, I think they can and should lay off giving us cropped tops and pants (especially the cropped pants) but as far as CAS catching one's eye? I want more muted clothing because not everyone wears bright colors all the time. I'm happy for at least that.
I don't mind the cas, just don't actively like it. I think there will be some really nice swatches though anyway that expand its use. I think it was a smart choice: the items are useful and I do appreciate that. I didn't really care much about the cas or aesthetics for this pack, as I personally think this is the kind of pack the gameplay should be center of attention anyway
@Simmer Erin I think it has been gameplay that was the main focus. People may feel "wronged" by the amount of items in this pack but they are getting quite a bit in gameplay, enough so that I feel it makes up for it.
The early access thing makes sense mainly because there were so many leaks about the last pack that they didn’t want the links they don’t send out they don’t want
With previous packs like My Wedding Stories having issues I completely understand why people are concerned and worried. I am planning to get the pack myself BUT not buying it day one until I hear reviews. For the pack and creators I don't think it has to do with leaks since we had a long live stream and they want us to discover some stuff on our own but I do think it has to do with the infant update.
Baby carriers might be like the harnesses for the dogs. You choose in CAS which one you want and they change into it when you choose “leash animal”. Maybe it’ll work the same
I really think the small early access is due to the update, they really want this massive update to tie to the pack, so it’s a tight turn around, which means there will be a lot missing from any early access content. I think they gave it to simmers who they know already know how to make the most out of having just one pack + base game, so that it can still shine. Not saying other simmers can’t but with kind of timeline, what does it even matter? You still have plenty of time to decide to buy it after release day if that’s what you want early access videos for. As far as the CAS and Build/Buy… I really think the team treated this as an opportunity to make stuff that will blend with existing content. We have SO MUCH stuff that you can’t make work with anything else so it’s actually kind of refreshing to have stuff I see I can fit with the game as a whole instead of things so specialized I never use them.
I think that is most likely as well, and thus, if true, not a cause for concern true, you definitely do. a lot of simmers tend to buy very quickly, but that's not usually my cup of tea
I thought it was sis as well that the early access videos were coming so close to the release date, but then I remember how infants are a key feature in the pack and how they haven’t been patched in yet…
Yep, I think it's the infants in this case. Now, of course, it'll be interesting to see how early access works for future packs, to see if there are any patterns, but as of now, there's a logical guess that seems to fit well
Love your videos Erin!!! I wonder if anyone has made a list yet of those receiving early access I would be interested to know. And I kinda understand Oshin Sims not getting early access because she shares a similar audience with UrbanSims. I legit watch both. Maybe the sims team wants to be sure that they diversified which Game Changers have early access? Idk wishful thinking
I just wish they gave a new group of GCers early access. I like watching Plumbella etc. but it feels like a) EA is only marketing those channels and b) It can be kind of boring to hear the same sort of stories etc? Like you know the sort of families they’ll make, the builds, the play style, etc. It just makes me less excited.
For sure. I like plumbella too! But I also think it's a shame we don't get a wider group. There are a ton of people in the program. I guess it comes down to marketing but.. I guess I'd just love a few more to get a chance in the spotlight
I agree with this. The EA content creators I like the most are not unknowns, but they are not the ones constantly promoted by the Sims team either. But I rotate on who I watch for that variety - would nice to see the Sims team broaden a bit.
Dr gluon, James Turner I know as well. Personally I'm glad they don't have a long pre release bc by time none game changers come to play it's lost most of the momentum.
It is strange that even the seasoned simmers like lilsimsie, James Turner and Deli wasn't granted access to show off the pack and instead the gurus are showing off the goodies instead. I'm guessing the Project Rene leak freaked some people out on EA's side. 😳 I used a credit card through the EA App and didn't experience any problems with my pre-order. Using Origin through a Mac was a good idea for gifting. Thank You for the tip. 😀 The main complaint I hear from modders wished they had earlier access so they can fix their mods but I hear that before every update. I thought the purpose of CurseForge was to fix the problem before it became one. Thank You for the video and enjoy the rest of your weekend. 😁
Simsie said on her twitch stream a day or 2 ago that she's playing the new pack now and making some videos. She said she'll have her videos on it up Monday, which it sounded like is when the embargo will lift and they are allowed to talk about it.
Something is definitely off with the EA app when using Paypal. I ordered Cottage Living because it was on sale. I usually get a confirmation email right away. It never came. My PayPal says I was charged but the app finally confirmed my order failed. I went back and ordered with my debit and it went through with an email.
I love the look of that industrial stool. I wonder if it only comes with kids bikes. Like if you don't have another pack that has bikes... will the kids be the only ones with bikes?
I am not a BB or CAS player what so ever, but I really like what I have seen from the preview, the clothes is CAS are right up my play style, and some nice looking casual clothes are appreciated, though it will still be a nice bonus as I will get it for the game play first (after some reviews come out) as it seems to be a pack that will affect most of ones gameplay.
I know that when they get early access they get a separate version of the game that isn't linked to their own so I don't think the infant update had anything to do with it. I worry that it's bugs and glitches
I’m not concerned as the gurus seem very confident. Think baby carrier is an in game item you’d strap onto existing cloths. The rock climbing gear from SE appeared in CAS too. I personally do like the CAS a lot but not the BB so much. I think Early Access is probably to do with the infant update being on a different schedule than the expansion. I do agree at this stage there isn’t any point in any early access. Simsie and James Turner etc always get preferential treatment, not a fan 😂.
I don't usually side with EA, but...there were a lot of people not so long ago saying that there was need for a lot more normal everyday things. That's what appears to be in this pack, a lot of normal everyday things. Now people are complaining that nothing 'jumps out' at them. Well...that's what normal everyday stuff IS. This particular thing seems like a lose-lose thing for EA: "There not enough everyday stuff", so then they provide everyday stuff: "This is boring - nothing jumps out at me". Make up your mind. Do you want everyday stuff or not? Do you guys not see the contradiction in this? And I don't see the confusion about the backpack. I also assumed it would be a build buy item, but upon seeing it in CAS I just assumed that putting it in CAS just means it'll be automated - they'll put it on when they go to pick up the infant, just like they automatically change into nightwear when they go to bed.
To be clear, it doesn't upset me. While I don't love the cas, I don't dislike it? And I could have even done with far less items, because I think the gameplay is the most important here as for the backpack: I saw a lot of people confused about it. I don't own every pack, and was unsure how it would work.
I have a feeling that they are holding off on early access so they can avoid what happened with the last two packs. The game changers often are also reacting to the pack or are play testing the pack and so they often have to walk a tight rope of honesty and corporate loyalty while recording videos and live content. Take lilsimsie for example, two packs in a row she’s had to say she can’t recommend a pack in its current state because it outright doesn’t work or is buggy, not to mention underwhelming, just for her to later have to retract her statement regardless of it the pack was fixed or not and recommend it anyways. So I’m pretty sure EA is holding off for avoid this and to make sure the simmers they DO give it to have next to no issues with the pack, like vetting their particular game so they have the best chance to make the pack look good. Not to mention how the livestream only used the pack and base game, meaning that we truly don’t know what it will be like until it comes out, and gives people less time to see what the pack is truly like/ what it offers, bc you don’t get to see someone play it until you can also basically play it yourself so if a simmer goes “it might just be my game” you truly won’t know
I actually hope so, I hope this was done with care as it has so much promise. And you are right, many prominent game changers have been hesitant to recommend packs lately
Overall I'm very pleased with the CAS and build/buy items. I feel that the clothing is very family oriented and the buy items cover just about every room in the house. Just my opinion but I think the delayed early access might have to do with the patch as it is so vital to playing this pack. Thanks for your thoughts as always! 👍💓🤗😊
I think it's probably the strongest theory! While it could indeed have something to do with other factors, I think infants are probably the biggest factor
Maybe it's late on the early access because people always say they felt the pack was a bit lackluster. I guess if you've been watching the new pack being played for two weeks before release you're going to feel as though it's nothing new and not as good as you hoped. Really early release does this to me too, I feel like there's no change because I've been inundated with content on the pack before I have it. Just a theory.
so far it doesn't seem so luckily, though there are some visual glitches reported. It looks a lot more solid than MWS, for sure. However, I must caution that I have yet to see the pack in conjunction with others or a full exploration of every feature
What's the point of pre-order and why would you want to? I want to to see how it runs first. The bonus items aren't going anywhere soon. They can hardly give early access without infants, that just makes sense.
I'm personally pretty confident in the pack from what I've seen so far. I'm always very cautious about packs and regularly wait well past reviews by early-access content creators and other simmers to get the pack myself. This is especially true when I know there's a big and/or specific problem with the pack or the update such as there was for high school years and the wedding pack. I've seen some EA creators' reviews so far and some of the things I was watching out for (in regard to possible problems) have seemingly passed the test for functionality. Like the folding, wall-mounted changing table which exceeded my expectations so far, and the tree house which functioned just about as I expected it to. As for the CAS and Build/Buy, I'm not sure why people aren't thrilled about them...? I'm personally in love with the CAS accessories/features alone because the large variety of freckles, moles, and birthmarks will make a lot more variation in sims. I won't have to rely on CC (which is prone to breaking and conflicts with other CC) for freckles/moles on the sims' bodies anymore! I'll also finally be able to use the base game full-face freckles again w/o being bothered when my sims' shoulders, arms, and chests are completely clear! Idk, maybe I'm just easy to please, lmao XD
Yeah, I feel it's a fairly decent pack. Sure there are limitations as always bit some of the content is pretty solid. The cas doesn't wow me, but I do like aspects of it- especially the skin details
The same buying issue happened to me buying Werewolves this week with EA app and PayPal, I just went to the EA site and had no further issues buying it with PayPal
0:49 i did my pre-order off my card on Feb 7th and the money got taken on the 10th of march and my EA order history says completed :) i think when it says processing it could mean that it don't get taken until days before the pack comes out or it might just be different for card pre-orders to paypal
It's also odd that the bicycle helmets are in CAS too. Maybe that is how it is already, but why? Why do I have to edit my everyday outfit to put on a helmet before riding. Even if I use the helmet in the workout category, my sim will have to change outfits before riding. Both the helmets and the baby carriers should be items in your inventory like the rock climbing gear for Snowy Escape, so they can be added/removed to/from any outfit at any time.
see, I don't own every pack and I tend to be a little less attentive to cas items.. so perhaps this is normal? I think it likely will work sort of like rock climbing gear, but it is a little weird
The only thing that really annoys me about B/B in the sims 4 how half of wall art is kids wall decals… we don’t need more decals I want cool art and functional art for more rooms. But a lot of the stuff seems super useful and functional which is nice.
fair, if one owns other packs- especially say cats and dogs etc- we do have a fair bit of decals. I think more paintings or posters even I'd be a little more into? But yes, on the plus side there's a lot more emphasis on functionality than some packs
It's 12 lots, about what it's been the past few eps. Pearson discussed that worlds will remain smallish a while after Get Together came out- there's an old interview on James Turner's youtube if you're interested
The purchasing issues are not just with Growing Together. A couple of days ago I bought Cottage Living with my debit card since it was on sale and instead of giving me the option to download it acted as if I hadn’t bought it at all, even though my statement said I had been charged. I had to log out of the EA application entirely and log back in before it recognized my purchase.
If you watched all the trailers and the livestream and still need a review to tell you whether you want this pack, I don't understand what you're waiting for. The team played this pack for over an hour and had no issues at all. It even looks like the problems with the Highchairs are gone.
The EA app freaked me out the other day because it showed that I had NONE of the Sims expansions. I didn't even have the base game. I logged out of the app and then logged back in and everything was back but I definitely had a mini heart attack
We haven't had any issues :) But we also paid with our regular card too, no PayPal. EA has told my sister they will let her know when she can download GT.
Thanks for making this video. I thought my pre-order issue was because my debit card recently updated, and I thought because of that, PayPal was glitching somehow (even though I updated the card on their end). I've been having a ton of problems with this card update across multiple websites, so it didn't occur to me that this may be an EA glitch.
Yeah, it's unclear exactly what's happening, but it seems to be a weird combo with the app and paypal. In general, people have had a ton of weird glitches with the app, which is frustrating
I can see that ; on one hand, I think it is all new (though meshes may not all be new) but it does not feel exceptionally unique. I guess the plus side is that it's versatile and easy to fit with other content
hi, im thinking of buying city living whilst the 50% deal is on, but because of the glitch with growing together im not sure whether too. is it still safe to buy other packs? (love the vid btw)
I pre-ordered awhile go, it says it's in "queue." However, it doesn't let me play the game now. I put in several tickets and NOTHING. Won't do that again. It also seems strange that the creators aren't getting an early play. It's very strange.
sadly it's not unusual for a lot of people not to get early access, but the access period is shorter than usual. You can't launch your game at all? If so, this article could help, maybe appuals.com/ea-desktop-app-wont-launch/#:~:text=There%20are%20several%20reasons%20why,the%20game%20or%20EA%20app.
Buying things on the EA app is what I’m most scared of. It glitched out when I was ordering a kit and I ordered 2 of the same pack and they never refunded me. Losing $40 is a lot more impacting than $5.
Personally it feels better to discover the game for myself than to be overly saturated with other people's opinions, i.e. early access. There's videos out now from my favorite creators that I haven't watched bc it's less interesting to have even trusted opinions walking me through everything. I'm excited for the new LPs that will be coming though.
I'm not surprised that the EA app is causing trouble, it's been buggy from day one, and just yesterday it just kicked off the app and made me sign in again, luckily I wasn't playing my game, because it did do that a couple months ago when I was playing and it caused my game to freeze, so I lost all my progress on a build I was doing, which to this day really bothers me, because I wasn't able to get it the way I had it before, because I couldn't remember how I had done it originally! I have to admit I already pre-ordered the pack on the 9th, just so I would be set for next week, but now I am worried I shouldn't have, because I didn't with the last two big packs, High School Years and Werewolves, I hope I don't regret it!
Hoping it goes fine for you! For some weird reason there have been issues with the bonus items the last two packs, but who knows, maybe this is the one thing the new app does better than origin lol
I'm buying the pack when it's released. I'm not currently playing and will accept the infants update and download the EP the same day...then go back to not playing until MCCC has been cleared. I'm looking forward to the GC videos though.
a lot of creators complained during the release of HSY that there wasn't enough time to play the game and review before the release. I also remember thinking, "wow! there are a LOT of creators getting early access this go around." maybe it was overwhelming for everyone, creators and community manager on the EA side?
I feel like there's going to be a build/buy object because iirc you can't dress up bots, right? And we have that gif of a bot wearing a baby carrier. or yeah climbing gear like Sirah1981 says. Granted, we could totally be able to CAS bots and I'm just not aware of it, I admittedly haven't played a lot with them.
People are having issues pre-ordering the pack? Gee, it makes me glad I haven't ordered it yet. I don't know how people are even contacting EA for complaints. I tried that once, and I couldn't find the right website/web page. Simmer Erin, would you advise against anyone ordering the pack if they haven't already?
since i don't have access to the pack, that's hard to answer. But honestly? I almost always recommend watching at least one or two reviews from someone they trust before buying. Here I will admit we know a lot more about the pack than usual, but sometimes holding off is even helpful for say the first patch for bugs (almost always happens). So do I think it'll probably be ok to buy now (without paypal) yes. But would waiting also be a good choice? probably
my ea app still says that growing together is available for download on april 28th. i really hope that its just a visual thing and it'll still work on march 16th but idk
Wild (or not) speculation, I wonder if they're not doing early access because of some complication with the infant update. HSY early access videos came out two weeks before the pack released, but the update that came with HSY didn't add a brand new life state. We've also seen the gurus WAY more involved than ever (or am I just now noticing their twitter timelines??). Maybe that's EA/Maxis's way of controlling leaks/information.
I don't think that's wild! I actually think it's the theory that makes the most sense I have no idea about the second idea but I do enjoy it- I feel like the gurus are really having actually some fun?
I am excited for the patch and the pack slightly worried about the EA app from the tweets you showed in your vid from people experiencing problems but I've not had issues with it before when buying packs and stuff fingers crossed my purchase goes through ok I don't usually pre-order I like to wait and see people playing it first so I can watch all the fun things and cool items
I pre-ordered and payment was shown on March 4th and receipt from EA...bank showed the amount to debit March 9th it went thru...resubmitted to my bank??? That was weird and never happened before????
The only thing that’s making me not want to buy the pack is probably the thing that makes others want to, lol. EA has sent me about 3 emails in less than a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) and they all have those quotes from the game changers. I don’t support any game changers and actively avoid them, especially since EA has their fave handful they always run to. Before that I was all on board to preorder, but it makes it seem like they’re pushing these people’s paid opinions (getting free stuff is a form of payment) to back a half baked pack. Edit: also, thanks for the heads up about the payment thing
@@SimmerErin absolutely marketing is needed, I just personally prefer it not be from game changers. You, Satch and LGR are the only people I watch that discuss The Sims.
