Worst Contestant on BBC Radio 2 PopMaster Quiz On Ken Bruce Show 

Ken has a voice of a warm blanket! Anyone could recognize that voice. Ken Bruce is a living legend!

I used to listen to Ken every day in my workshop and always had a go at Pop Master, but I was never brave enough to get on the phone and do it properly. Well done - you scored three more points than me!

Fair play for uploading this!! Tough questions there.....I managed 12 (the guess the year was a pure guess). I was on Popmaster in 2013 and like you say, it’s so much harder on the phone. I scored 36 on that occasion and got the 3 in 10. I qualified for the Champions League only to crash and burn to score 12. It’s very much luck of the draw with the questions but brilliant fun!!

You're right Lee. It's easy as you say, shouting at the radio but when you're on the spot, speaking to Ken, pressure really on, then it's a whole different ball game. Anyway, well done for being on the show and at least you can laugh at yourself which is a really good quality.

At least you had a go, that's the main thing! I only got 2 of those questions right myself, including that 'name the year' question, but that was by a sheer lucky guess! Even when I've been playing along while listening to the radio, I don't tend to do THAT well :D

I was a contestant in 2018. It was amazing and reading without reply through the love and the 'hate' on Twitter afterwards was enjoyable and very much part of it.

I got 18, but it was admirable how well you took it. Though I haven't been on the show I'm sure it's harder under that pressure than just listening to it at home.

Those questions were hard. I only got 9. I have won many pop quizzes, but my average on PopMaster is always 12-15. Is it true that when you phone up they ask you questions and if you don't do well, they just cut you off? This morning someone asked why she was cut off, and Ken said "It's because of a lack of knowledge... We cut you off to save you money". I thought he was joking, but then I rememebered how a few months ago, he got really stroppy after several people got low scores, saying "Here's a novel idea... if you're going to phone PopMaster, can you make sure you have at least SOME knowledge of pop music? I thought this was harsh, seeing as 1. Not everyone is a music DJ like him. 2. The questions span 50+ years of music. 3. He wasn't even the presenter when three people had low scores. Gary Davies was standing in! Another time he got unfairly stroppy was when a guy last year said in the beginning "Happy Birthday to my son, who is 16 today" He didn't go on and on, but because of that, Ken just said "Ok thanks Bye" at the end, and refused to let this poor guy say any Hellos to anyone! If the phone system does cut people off without first telling them why, that is so rude. I am posting this while PopMaster is on ...in protest!

I got 27, but not silly enough to think I would get anywhere near that live on air! (Would start swearing at wrong answers!😂)

well done mate for posting this! no disgrace! I normally score in the twenties but only got 12 on this! like u say it's a lot harder when somebody else is answering the questions coz u can also say I knew that and score yourself a point!

Someone got 12 points yesterday. Ken said no fear, it's been done before. And the second contestant got 3. It definitely is the luck of the draw!

I squeaked a 9 with no bonus questions right. I'd never have the guts to do it for real so well done you! Plus you got the t-shirt, which is what everyone wants anyway ;-)

So good to here that this show inspired me to do a daly quiz on my radio show XLR radio Monday to Thursday 1-4 the fun starts at one and I’ll knock on your door till 4

These questions are absolutely rediculous mate really fucking hard and I like to think of myself as the 70s and 80s throwback and I got sod all points ! Don’t think yourself bad at all chap x
