WORST DJ controller OVER 1000 DOLLARS? 

Just bought one this week instead of opting to go for the club style Prime 4 Plus. It's awesome! Would highly recommend it.

Controllers across the market has split between open format and club format. For scratching you buy the open format type options like the Rane 4, rev 7. This is on the club side so not designed for heavy duty scratching. I also feel it is designed more as a home unit. I have one no issues so far. Yet I wouldn't gig more than small parties with it. Yes it's expensive for a unit like that but it is the only current 4 channel standalone in that price range. Seams crazy to spend that kind of money but it is what it is. If you are saving on not buying a laptop to go with it then it's a steal at the price it's at.

Very solid and stable excellent sound quality and a jog wheels are perfect and you will feel safe not using a computer at all I don't even take one to Club gigs

Hello there!! Since I am gigging two times a week on a restaurant with party and singing with Latin music I am thinking to buy this one. Therefore I do not know how do you get started. Is it easy to setup? All I have to do is to put on a USB stick loaded with my songs and that’s it? Or is it necessary to download Engine DJ on laptop in order to prepare the lists? And how is this getting done? I am playing on a laptop so far with my DENON MC4000…

the title of your video got me to click. I've owned this unit for about 5 months and have used without issue at 40+ performances as an open format DJ. It has really grown on me quickly although mind you I don't scratch or even need a cross fader. I do use the vertical faders quite a bit without any issues. I have also connected to it to a Yamaha external mixer for more i/o. I guess that's why it works perfectly for me. I think you're in a pickle since you probably want big motorized platters on something that's also standalone. I wish they could make the Rev 7 or the Rane 4 a standalone for ya. But maybe one of the higher end Pioneer standalones will be good enough. In the last few weeks Denon put out an amazing version release of Engine DJ that makes me think twice about leaving the Denon ecosystem.

I agree with you on many points, but I chose to stick with the deck. Truth be told, Its not the best for scratches, but its ok for general use. I had the same problem with a Prime Go crossfader (minimal use). Fixed it with electrical contact cleaner. Denon definitely cut corners. So I'll probably be real gentle with the SC Live4 (until it gets sold next year lol)

Have the SC Live 2 and love it so far, almost bought a used XDJ RR or XDJ RX but found this controller had a lot more to offer for a beginner at a budget friendly price. It has the basic club layout which I like because eventually I might go for a XDJ XZ further down the road and everything is located in almost the same place just would be switching eco systems.

Thanks bro appreciate the video I agree I just got the same one almost 2 weeks ago I was just telling the wife 2 days ago the same thing I don't like the fader I been mixing and messing with music for over 5 decades and I don't like the fader but I love everything else so I'm really afraid of the fader especially after seeing your video..thanks bro.

Had the same issue with the xfader, can of air blasted thru it did the trick. I think its pretty prone to dust pickup

Sorry but this video is weird. Of course it is not a hiphop battle device. But it is still AWESOME for the price. A whole all-in-ohe system, far superior to stuff like the RX2, for less money. Quality is good for me. Only the stiff pads are a bit annoying and the lack of colored deck layers. That‘s it! Prime 4 is 2x the price here (2400€ vs 1180€)

Is there no way the problems could have been software related or firmware ?

I can say as a DJ that likes to scratch himself you should have known that. I own this unit and a few others. Why didn’t you get a reloop spin and run it on a channel? You had options. Just saying.

I just ordered this I couldn't scratch my own ass.let alone on a controler so I should be fine I might not be good at scratching but I.make up for it by pulling amazing mixing 😂

The jog wheels are completely crap. Waste of money used it for one month now it eating dust.😊😊

So I've had an SC Live 4 for about 3 months now and already I can see they cheaped out in several areas in the controller and would definitely not be practical for proffesional use :( At first touching (MY CONTROLLER) I Instantly felt that all the Volume Faders had a different resistance(imma seperate it my which fingers it would take me to move fader to fader), my 1 felt perfect(middle finger resisance right in the middle), my deck 2 felt LOOOOOSE(pinky or even nail can push it up easily), and Deck 3 and 4 were both HEAVY(Thumb needed at times), and come to find out my entire right side (DECK 2 & 4) isn't working appropriately, and even playing sound while the track is at 0% Volume(LOL) Also Engine DJ PC Software is extremely Lackluster compared to the competition, but if you just wanna plug and play so be it.They seem to not know much about the controllers or support seems to just be ignoring my questions and I dont want it refurbished but seems that'll be a fate this too good to be true controller brought with the nice price tag :( Hopefully will be getting my Pionner FLX6 back tbh xD
