I was so excited to have Alexis Bledel representing a lesbian character because I love her, but then that movie was just horrible. That said, I HAD NO IDEA SHE'S IN HANDMAIDS TALE! I've honestly been avoiding watching it because of that *one* scene... but now I might need to be brave and just watch it.
Lizzy Wolcott I’m who casted this and how did no one say anything on set I’m so confused on how his was made with clearly no LGBT actual presence that why we need to make more content especially on here to show how our actual relationships are
It is apparently. According to movies, there must be *AT LEAST* one bisexual woman struggling with her sexuality as she plans to leave her husband for this completely sexpert lesbian. There is simply no such thing as a love movie without a dude some👏🏾where👏🏾 in it. Smh.
DEBS...kind of. Most of the things I can think of are TV shows....Fingersmith/the Handmaiden maybe? The fact that this is so hard proves your point lol
I actually hated blue is the warmest color... because it was way too long and also and mostly because it was a very bad adaptation of the graphic novel it's based on (with ridiculous sex scenes...). But it's just my personal opinion 😊
I’ve seen few lesbian movies, but the worst is definitely Blue Is The Warmest Color. Most of the scenes were either too long or unnecessary, the plot was nonexistent, most of the dialogue was irrelevant and don’t get me started on the sex scenes
- Alexandria if you ignore some of the sex scenes in blue is the warmest color (first time and scissoring scene) it is a good movie. The actors portrayals of the characters emotions are very real.
Do NOT try and tell me these two are not a couple after this episode. It’s painfully obvious at this point and it makes me wanna cry because of how cute they are 😭😭😭
It was not a good movie. Borderline stalking behaviour, crying by snotting out the nose, a most unwelcome look at some dude's hard on, and zero ability to communicate anything except perhaps that weird keening noise one normally makes in the privacy of the shower. Perhaps if my French was better I might have enjoyed it but no. It was long, boring, and kinda pointless.
Í don't even see Chasing Amy as an lgbt movie, it's much more about an obnoxious white dude tbh alyssa's sexuality and fluidity is more of a catalyst to make ben affleck the jerk he is in the movie
Loving annabell was my first gay movie I used to rent it from blockbuster over & over.. I was/ still am so into it & age gap couple things. Fast forward a decaf & a half, my wife is 10 years older than I am & I’m thrilled lol 😛
Bloomington is worse than loving annabelle because it was like a mother daughter relationship. I was so uncomfortable watching it, especially when she gave the younger one a bath. Annabelle acted more mature which made the age gap better than Bloomington
Um excuse you, GirlTrash: All Night Long is the no-sense, musical, lesbian, fun, action-packed MASTERPIECE we all needed and should be regarded as such. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
I loved girltrash and I agree with some especially chasing amy, I only watched half way through as well it was just not going the way I expected so I got bored. Anatomy of a love scene is the worst lesbian film I have seen, it was so boring, I think I even had to skip bits of it for something interesting to happen.
Anatomy of a love scene is definitely one of the worst lesbian movies I’ve ever seen as well. I 100% skipped through it too just to see if SOMETHING would happen. 😂
"Kissing Jessica Stein" honestly I'm not even sure I'm writing the last word right, I watched this movie once when I was a baby bi and since then I've tryin to erase it from my mind as much as I can.
I absolutely loved lost and delirious when I was younger. Probably even still... I liked how intense and cheesy it was. And I love Piper! She's a freaking knock out.
I found “A room in Rome” to be pretty ridiculous. It’s like celebrating a lesbian cheating on her partner of whom they have children together and by seducing a straight girl who is about to get married.
I was kinda bored and stopped watching it half way but I don't think that woman was straight. I don't think that at all. And Bellow her mouth is worse imo, idk it felt more predatory. At least in A Room In Rome it felt like they were both into it since the start.
Opheliasghost she kept trying to leave and the lesbian woman kept convincing her to stay. A lot of the time she was also drunk. Both films were pretty predatory imho.
I know the ending is maybe (?) too much, but really is a great movie. The story is interesting, the characters are very well written and the performances are good. The crow is a little bit strange, but is just a creative writing gone a bit off the rails. But at least they tried to insert this metaphor/character -which is not entirely a fail- there. Also, for us it might be too overdramatic or angsty but in context and the age of the characters it works perfectly fine.
"Lost & Delirious" was good... I remember liking it. But, yeah, Piper was super scary hahahaha I love Sarah going "Lesbians live intensily" hehhe True.
I had a relationship almost perfectly in line with Loving Annabelle... in my defense very relatable and highly emotional. Agree with the other ones though.
I love Kiss Me! The film was so beautiful. From the lighting to the music to the beauty of Sweden. Plus the love scenes were very well done, not pornographic at all. Loved the ending too!
Blue is the Warmest Color was worse than Girl Trash. I agree with the rest of your picks. Still, I'm so judging you right now for not liking Kiss Me. .
I personally like GirlTrash, both the movie and the mini series. It's meant to be a cheesy comedy musical, and to call it a bad movie is like being disappointed that a Big Mac isn't a five star restaurant quality meal. Jennifer's Wedding though is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Romina Polito I was like: No. No. Why. Wtf. No. Stop. But then again they're the Rachels & they're extremely hot, gorgeous, beautiful. They had an amazing chemistry. But still.. imo it was unnecessary. Although i understand, some people have all sorts of fetishes. It just made me confused. I love them, but not a fan of spitting as a part of a sexy scene.
Hahaha I love this vid! Have to say, I love the awkwardness in Bloomington and Loving annabelle, I think the taboo is what makes the movies interesting and exciting to watch
Okey, we DO NOT have the same taste in movies. I hated Carol but loved Loving Annabelle. And I was cool with disagreeing about those two movies with you. But how can you not like "Kiss me/Kyss mig"? The best filmed lesbian movie of all times? One of the most real portrayl of the struggles that exist? And amazing acting? That is just outragous! (Okey, so maybe I am a bit biased as I am indeed Swedish and super proud of this amazing movie, but still...)
Okay but Girl trash is pretty okay, if you watched the series South of nowhere, where the main charters of the series are also the main characters of the film. I mean south of nowhere is still pretty great, I mean a tv-series about two teen girls who like girls, falling in love and being in a relationship, and that relationship being the center of the show. That is still pretty unprecedented, its like faking it but they actually have a real relationship for most of the seasons. So Girl trash is basically just fan service, made once the fans and the actors were a bit older. And for that its pretty alright. I think lesbians deserve more fan service so just for that I give girl trash points in my good book
J. Kelly But she was a lesbian. She declared herself as s lesbian. Ben's character was an exception. And sexual fluidity, in some cases, is far more better than a certain label. I think it just shows the whole "you love who you love" no matter your gender or sexual preferences. She fell in love with a guy even tho guys weren't her preference. His personality win her over in a way. It can be the same for a straight girl. A straight girl can fall in love with a girl. The personality of someone can make you want 'em romantically & sexually. Can make you love them. Even if you have a certain label. Sometimes, someone can be an exception. At the end she's back with a girl, so that's just proves the point. I really like Chasing Amy cause of the message 'you love who you love'. Also Ben's best friend in the movie who was a straight guy had a thing for him. It's a great portrayal of sexual fluidity.
Alex Strangelove is a new gay movie that follows the normal infidelity plot line but in high school and with no good characters. My friends and I could barely riff on it
I agree they should've done a better job creating chemistry for the leads in Jenny's Wedding...but I did feel like there was some really good acting in the film, a great soundtrack and its plot had more to do with the initial reaction of the community and Jenny's family allowing love to get them past their archaic, deep-rooted religious views...that said, you wonderful ladies do amazing work!!! 🙂
