This is why it's so hard to have a business when it comes to food because you HAVE to be consistent. You can't let a bad day, new employees ect ect let your food quality dip.
That's why recipes were created. A formula that guarantee consistency. If the food is not consistent , that means they got a grandma or aunty that's just eye balling sh1t like its a home cook meal.
That's why you must know the 5 standard cost tools: Standard Purchasing Specifications, Standard Recipes, Standard Yields, Standard Portion Sizes and Standard Portion Costs.
african cuisine is often shit , u seen the videos of nigerians eating out of a pouddle in a hole i nthe ground with flys coming out of it ? and they had the nerve to sday white cuisine is jusy potatos ?
Thank you for keeping it real! You can’t fake suya. It isn’t about throwing some seasoning in meat. There is an art to making it. Glad you know the difference Chime!!
Man, I lived in the DMV for 3 1/2 yrs and I'm from the south and there is no competition... Crystal Palace in Crystal City is good tho... Try Southern Suya next time you're in Atl... It's in Gwinnett County off Breckenridge Blvd off 85 N (depends on which direction you're coming from)...
This is why you just can't wake up one morning and think you can start a restaurant, if you're gonna direspect the food like that lol. I've seen one too many Nigerian restaurants/ghost kitchens serve mediocre food, just because they think they're the only ones in the game. They feel like if their food is trash, they can just run on vibes 🤷🏿. Y'all have to do better man. Also, salmon suya!? Broo..throw away the whole menu 😩😂👀
Omg I say the same thing. I have literally eaten places and said out loud 'CLEARLY THIS PERSON DOES NOT HAVE FRIENDS'. Who told this person they can cook. 😂😂
Who was in the back not marinating the meat? 😅 Marinating is 90% of the process to great tasting food. Other 10% is cooking the food to safe temperature
@@chandrareid6966Bruh, this joint is on Rhode Island Ave. which runs straight through DC so it's close enough on the border. Ya'll just hate accepting the L so badly it's sad lol
Peaks was raving about the wings and shrimp, but he did say he never had souya before, so he probably doesn’t know better. I’m trusting you on this one Chime.
That’s bc the food itself is probably good. It just doesn’t live up to the standard of what it’s actually supposed to be. Like I’ve had good “jerk” chicken that didn’t taste exactly like traditional jerk chicken. So it might be one of those type situations.
@@SONOFPEARL315 No just someone who isn’t a sheep for Keith Lee. I just see through the social media antics. His food reviews alone wasn’t getting numbers for a little minute, so he saw an opportunity to post and he took it. He knows his audience, and he knows what they do. After listening to him explain what happened at those 2 restaurants in ATL, I just think it wasn’t that serious. At the end of the day review the food
@@rommieyay4444 it wasn't that serious but it's not his fault that others took it serious and plus a lot of the complaints that he stated were already stated by others, he just had the platform to be heard while others didn't..he knows his audience and he caters to them..that doesn't make him a Karen as u stated, sh!t, it makes him smart! Plus, a guy with 14 million followers can't be doing too bad when it comes to views!😂 😂 😂
@@SONOFPEARL315 I’m just saying with the 14 million followers his food reviews before ATL the view count was a little scattered (I noticed the increase on a lot of the recent vids after the controversy). Idk I just feel like he’s well aware of what his audience does regardless so posting the videos was irrelevant. He knows what they do so posting a video like that shows he’s completely aware and in control. It’s like Doordash said that Milk and Honey was closed, so that shows that they updated the time (a lot of restaurants don’t do that). He pulled up anyway and they said that they were deep cleaning. He acknowledged that the people going in were probably picking up to go. OF COURSE if they see him they are going to accommodate. He might say he’s not a celebrity but c’mon, like you said he has 14 million followers and a huge influence lol. He might say treat him like a regular person but reality is people don’t see him like that. Just come back another day. N the other place, Old Lady Gang, if I’m not mistaken invited HIM! Of course they’re going to accommodate you, lol that’s like having a reservation you get to skip the line.
@@dandaddavi There are good restaurants in DC and the burbs. If people recommended them, awesome. But if people recommended overrated tourist traps, that's another thing. Unfortunately, the DC region is a huge tourist trap. Lots of overrated food, activities, events. You have to ask the old time locals, not the people who lived here for less than 10 years or college students.
What's up my brother love the videos you should do in your city a food review on pepperoni pizza meatball subs I heard it's good it's from Fireside Subs
I know you out the DMV. THANK YOU for shedding light. But if you pull up in Bmore, MISS SHIRLEY’S got the coldest breakfast game. You’re welcome, and love the content
I love your reviews and your honesty. As a Nigerian, all the suya you get in America is trash whether you get it in Chicago, New York etc. Suya is more than spices and meat, it’s also about the technique and equipment that only the Hausas have mastered. The other tribes like the Yorubas and Igbos don’t even understand this technique and as a result we can’t replicate it. Going to Lagos for suya is so worth it. And since not every suya spot is good, you have to the University of Suya in Lagos (at 62 Allen Ave, Allen, Lagos 101233, Lagos, Nigeria) for the very best suya. Once you’ve had it, you’ll understand why I say that every suya in America is trash. Nigerian food is the best in Africa in my humble opinion. And after visiting so many islands in the Caribbean, I feel that Jamaican food is the best in the Caribbean. Nigerian food is so diverse and just visiting Lagos will give you some of the best culinary experiences you can ever imagine.
Yes there is a difference but not a big difference, nigerian suya is more dry seasoning, other places use oil and other suya seasonings and use it kind of like a wet marinade but taste wise its still the same.
Dawg there is some ppl from america and some people from africa who find out about like magi brand seasonings, then claim they can cook when they just put a bunch of salty bouillion cubes in it
Goes to show how the food industry prioritizes cooking with speed over quality. The fact that they didn't even marinate or use spices to cook the food is inexcusable. They just sprinkled it barely over aready bland food....
Wow!!😮 I love watching his videos and I hardly ever comment but for him to give y’all almost a 0 rating.. Mess around and lose your business if you want to.. get it together kitchen… ppl don’t have 70$ to just give to you.. Shameful!!!
Amazing… yet you still kept it 💯 PS; There’s a hacker trolling your comments and responding as if they were you offering free stuff… To the hacker (s) get a real job and stop this nonsense.
More than likely if anyone was to eat there you'd better have a hangover so youd forget what the food tastes like. 😲!! Such a piss poor review EVER! The infuriating tone of CT was REAL AF!! I believe him. Hope that the next African restaurant he stops at can REDEEM THEMSELVES!!
Aye man you remember minges wings that used to be in Greensboro round 07-08.....best wings to ever hit Greensboro ! I need you to find the owners dude and get that recipe or their new location or something.
