I worked with a rought in crew for a few years. We were building a house, and next door was another crew who walked around their own job site with 40 oz's and nail guns. When they finished, the roofing crew couldn't load the shingles onto the roof. The rough in crew didn't put in hip or valley jacks 🤯

If the roof is to be inspected and it has been inspected and passed inspection then the blame goes to the county or local government for passing that roof

I worked for an oilfield company that also started doing construction, the peak of covid I started working with em because work was slow. We did siding on a new house, half of it was done by the time I started helping, the house had 2 belly bands (that's what they were calling it, idk, I mentioned they had 3 rows above the bottom belly band that didn't have any flashing, they just kept going...it was a 1.4 million dollar townhouse. There ain't no damn way I'd buy a new construction house

What is the solution in a case like this? Do they have to tear it off and start over, or is this salvageable with a lot of sealant, moving the gutters to not dump on the roof, and adding kickout flashings after the fact?

GAF says shingles that are nailed improperly need replaced so that’s around 43 shingles in this case. Gutters can be extended and kickout can be added after the fact. Personally I would want a new roof completely, who knows what corners were cut in areas that aren’t visible

When you have an hourly paid guy doing your roof your going to get a bad job. Big named roofers will do this low quality work all the time. They get the home owner to pay a huge price all while they use the cheapest workers they can find. You need a neighbor like myself. You buy the materials and I will teach you how to do it right for free. Its just that easy!!!

I Like Your Chanel !~!~!~ I Came From New Construction And I Draw Plans For Permits ~!~ I Do Just About Everything From The Dirt To the Shingles ,I Keep a Licensed Electrician And a Licensed Plumber In My Rolla dex, I Always Pass Every inspection From Footings To Finish ( Terrible Shingle Job ) Only Looking out for the $$$ NOT the Customer = Bad Business !~!~ Sorry To Say Industry standards !~!~ How Fast Can It Be Done !~!~~
