Gotta blame the current generation of parents. These adults are some of the worst people on earth. Don't accept responsibility and always question authority.
@@tdawg00 i dont think bad people i think they not correcting they kids how they supposed to whether its fear of making them mad or sad or whatever it is
AAU is the problem. It's a showoff contest to get attention. I grew up playing on the playground in the 70s. If you tried doing this stuff you'd get stomped on or knifed.
The player at 2:51 that threw the referee to the ground was expelled from school and was charged 6 months after this with "lewd and lascivious conduct" for having sex with a 12 year old girl. The coach also ended up getting arrested for trying to silence the family of the 12 year old girl by buying them off. The basketball incident happened December 2010 and the later charges came in May 2011. According to some reports, the player never finished school and ended up just dropping out.
Dude at the end really took it upon himself to call a timeout and sub himself out, while taking off his jersey.😂 I’m sure college coaches are falling over themselves for such a level-headed team player.🤣
Lifetime ban, that'll put a stop to it. And if someone thinks that's harsh because "they just kids" the "kid" tried to intentionally entice another student into a physical altercation that would most definitely place a ban on both players. So let him live with his desired effect alone.
@@brennanreidy2389There's hope and faith in him. I wonder who had taught him that? So much disclipline in him ; you figure that nowdays the way the world is now, he'd be a bit prepared for getting the growing pains OUT of growing up. Being a kid growing up is hard enough... Because being a kid in this day and age, doesn't get any easier as time goes by. There are more important things than just sports. But you gotta hand it to the kid. Mr. Mighty Power Ranger Shrimp had some ice water in his veins! 😊
@@honesteewilburn ALL on the Parents. I can tell right away white type of kid I'm dealing with. I've coached hardcore black kids to spoiled white kids from the suburbs. Have you ever coached AAU and dealt with players parents and see how other coaches are more like cheerleaders than mentors. I grew up in Oakland and played high school during a time when the NBA was kind of hood, a lot of fights. Not one kid I played against tried to emulate players fighting, wearing Jewely. Etc. Rivals might fight. The whole AAU is disgusting. Professional players don't act like this. They would get a technical foul or thrown out and possible miss more than a few games. This is what happens when you try to be your kid's best friend and not their parent. It's not just sports. Kids today are rude, lack of respect, etc, has nothing to do with pro athletes it's what the parent will allow. Nice Try.
@@TChalla007 you are not understanding. Getting all in a players face talking trash after you scored on them. Is something young players learned from watching older players. That happens in the nba
Coaches have to put a stop to this. Also the refs have to keep control of games. Toss these clowns out and once they figure out this is unacceptable it will change.
AAU and other leagues are driving this type of behavior. You couldn't pay me enough to referee one of these games. Besides reffing the game, you have to look over your shoulder for some coach or parent who wants to come up and sucker punch you or worse yet, pop a cap in your ass over a foul call. There is a lot of money in AAU basketball with coaches identifying top level players and recruiters paying big $$$ for the contact info. Every parent there thought their kid is the next Steph Curry. All I saw in this video was the worst behavior in society on display. Youth sports ruined by bad adults!
If the best player on the team aspires to be a whiney, spiteful jerkoff... guess who's starting, every time? Sadly... coaches get paid to win; not to be forthright. They WILL stow their moral compass. Who are the coaches that thought it would be a good idea to install goons into their lineups? The only thing that matters is winning. If you get in anyone's way, keeping them from the prize... all hell is sure to break loose. Feel bad for the referees. And those asshole parents absolutely destroy the experience for everyone.
I'm surprised no one got shot at this game. Players shooting other players, one of the team's parents shooting the pother team's parents lol. This coulda gotten ugly.
@@HezzyDaGoat not at all. In the US the law says you are an adult at 18. The law does not say that you are a man woman. I Saw a legal adult heckle a child but I did NOT see a man do it.
It's good to see so many of these kids are practicing really hard for their future. You've got to bring your A game to the cell block C basketball team.
About 15 - 20 years ago I helped coach a high school baseball team. We wanted to have as many of the kids play as was possible and still try to compete in the games. We used to have parents threatening and cursing at us because their Little Johnny didn't play the whole game. And some of the things they yelled at the umpires - unbelievable!! Society is going crazy!!!
It's always been like that. I helped coach a T-ball team. We kept score but the main goal was to get the kids to like baseball. Everybody played. Half the season was hitting the ball off the T. Second half was hitting a pitched ball. I remember one game where this parent wanted her little Johnny to pitch. Tried to explain to her he was better playing the outfield. He needed to work on his ball throwing skills. She was relentless so I gave in and he pitched. He was wild and he got tagged a lot. Then she started yelling at me for embarrassing her kid and demanded I take him out. Other parents chimed in to get him out. I shrugged my shoulders and said I tried to tell you but I pulled the kid out and told him pitching is harder than playing the field but with practice he would get better.
Guess which country has such behavior?.. the rest of us either don't show up because school sports are for school going kids and adults go to work. or when we do, we just try sweet talk the coach.🤷 Better yet, we wait for the kids to earn the spot on the team. Bullying happens worldwide of course but less in your face unlike in the land of the free
My Brit brother living in the USA, volunteered to coach lacrosse at the local high-school, having been a high-level player. He soon suspended the 'star player' for lack of on-field and training discipline. The kid was a know-all 'Star' and had been treated as such. My brother was practically attacked in the car-park by many of the parents. 'He's our star player!' Rick just said, 'Tough. Until he learns, he's on the bench.' It was such an issue that the School Board became involved, the Community Leaders, all sorts. He was ostracised in some local stores. It went totally crazy until Rick just walked into the School office and quit, leaving them with ringing ears and no coach.. Many of the other players, though, were pleased he took the stance.
Sad part is when you see the parents or coaches not snatching those kids off the court when they commit a ridiculous foul or doing something to get a technical. The most important thing is teaching them to play hard but to play the game the right way. Let them sit on the bench and think about what they did.
@@DavidStep98 well that's your opinion and your entitled to it but if my kid ever clowned like some of those kids in the videos then that coach better have light speed in those shoes because I'm coming for my child. Sports are important but being a good responsible person is more imperative.
@@shawnbirt4161 anything above middle school basketball youd be kicked off the court, and possibly the building for interfering with a game you clearly have no understanding how that works
@@BobTheAnimeDude and you clearly have no problem with letting your child/ children act like a fool or play in a unacceptable manner in a team sport setting. I stand by my comment that if my kid clowned like some of those in the video they would get snatched off the court either by the coach or by me. Lot more to learn in life than being a poor sportsperson. Perhaps your parents should have taught you better.
Being a camera man for my school basketball game was fun. And yes, my school have the Watchfire Jumbotron that I can put the live game footage on it. And also, cameraman down the sideline are protected by the official. If the opponent team uses violence against the cameraman on the sideline because either they don't want to see them losing on the scoreboard or other reason, they are out. That's why basketball game cameraman is god
I ref'd middle school and high school basketball for 17 years. This is exactly why I did go on to year 18. The kids emulate the NBA players and the coaches emulate the NBA coaches thinking they can yell, scream and say what they want. It was different when I started. The generation changed. Lost its fun. The kids need to be coached how to behave. Not just do what they want
My step pops has been doing this along with football and baseball for 30 years+. That nigga doesn’t play tho. Kick you out and whoever TF else is talking “shmack”. Plus it’s a bonus if I’m there. No one is gonna put their hands on him front me. Good shit tho, G. I don’t blame you. I have kids in this generation too, they just don’t act like that.
Guy throws the ball at the defender space. That was the classless move. The fact that the defender had the moxie to get him back was called being a competitor. His in-defended dunk was really amazing too
I stopped attending youth sports years ago due to the thug behavior of the parents and players. None of my kids had any interest in doing sports after they attended several games and watched how parents behaved from the stands.
I remember when sportsmanship was taught as part of the game. It sucks to see this stuff and it sucks even more to see the parents and others cheering it on
Our society is in trouble. I can’t imagine my child behaving the way some of these kids behaved. And the parents aren’t any better. When I played sports sportsmanship was the cornerstone. The coaches I had would not have put up with us treating our opponents with disrespect.
That's the real rub, the parents. The kids doing dumb stuff I sorta get, we all learned along the way up through jr high. But the parents not only not corralling their kids but exacerbating the issue? Wow. I played all sorts of rec league youth sports in the 90's and early 2000's. Kids doing this would have been yanked from the contest and parents advocating for their kids to do that would have been seriously shamed. If both parent and kid were like this, they probably would have been booted off the team and given a refund.
Absolutely, in basketball in my high school we were always told to treat our opponents with respect but play like champs. This behavior is something I never seen once when I was in high school
"Our society is in trouble." Your reply sounds a little extreme, but I agree with you 100%. Kids playing a game, their behavior is trivial, right? Maybe not. The coaches are partly responsible; their not immediately yanking them outta the game is their way of condoning their actions. When these asshole kids grow into disgusting, rude, disrespectful adults, and this type of behavior is considered acceptable, we are screwed. Yes, I'm a typical cranky old man complaining about young people, but it ain't looking good.
It's getting more and more difficult to find people who are willing to ref youth sports. Because of the atrocious behavior shown by parents, which is often violent, long-time refs are just calling it quits. If the parents didn't display such abhorrent behavior, there would be more refs with experience.
Love the mom at the 4:40 mark, lookin like she finished her entire bottle of white wine disguised in a McDonald’s cup as she gives that ref the business 😂😂
It’s crazy how many times the refs do these things right and still are viewed as bad guys. I’m a ref and I can say that we are treated worse than most other positions.
Absolutely... And you can't blame refs who are afraid they might get shot or stabbed after a game. Yeah they have a job to do, but is that job worth their life? Nope!!
Yeah. And the crazy part is players and coaches think its a power struggle between them and the refs. Dude, I don't care if I toss you. Or the next one. or the next one. When does it get to your skull that I don't care? Refs don't toss people because they want to, it's because they were made to. You want to debate or do another sport? That's in another gym. Here, I'll help you...
Although, I also have to say: these refs were waaaaaaaaaaay too soft. They lost control of the players, the coaches, and the crowd. Yes, it sometimes happens. But, you see a push / slap on a dead ball? Immediate flagrant. If not ejection. Complain? warn, then tech. Tossing the ball away? Probably a tech. Toss it at a player? Probably straight ejection. People getting on the court or harassing? Get the coach, tell him to fix it. Or stop the play. It is *your* court. If you feel the players, coaches, benchmen, etc. are not safe... Stop the game. On the court, there are two people everybody has to listen to. Referees, and referees. And they're trumped by the police. NOBODY else. Gym owner? College director? Prime minister? President? King Charles III ? Jesus himself? Nope, not your court. Mine. Get your ass removed. You have no power here. I'll listen to police and nobody else unless I feel it. These refs were not in control, and as a result players felt the need to take control themselves. If they want to take control, do not allow it and take the control back, or get them out.
@@cptfwiffo long message but I agree refs need to maintain control and deal with things before they get out of hand. Sometimes it just isn’t able to be stopped though. I was punched at a mens league for calling a reach in foul. Totally out of nowhere not much else I could have done.
Thats because ref's make fraudulent calls, or dont make calls at all. Ref's cause their own hatred. Officiate the game correctly. Be fair and partial to both sides.
As a tall guy who plays basketball, one of the worst things is a tiny dude who throws a shoulder into your knee. Being larger is already hard on your joints, let alone when a Spud Webb wannabe decides to try to break your leg.
Yes and now you guys are raising these poor behaved kids. You all was just as bad. I guess that’s why these offsprings are poorly behaved themselves. Delete it all.
Keep giving these kids hype 100%! They're obviously good for their age.... lets see in 10yrs when they fail out school and start.... well... lets just assume they become model citizens. Great parenting
what the hell was the first guy thinking? why in any situation would you just throw the ball of the other players face? honestly should have been a tech
As a ref, I would probably have to call an ejection, by the (fiba) rules. A technical foul is for behavioral stuff. This is throwing a ball at a player, which can hurt. It could be a flagrant, but that would need player contact -- which it isn't. So I'd probably be left with an ejection.
Someone else on here said he blamed street ball culture, I agree I've seen several videos of guys bouncing the ball off someone head besides being unsportsmanlike it should at least be a turnover, at least back in the days I played that would be like passing to yourself since the other person never really had possession of the ball. The player should have been ejected and the designer of both teams uniforms should be arrested.
Thank goodness you narrated every single individual moment of the video. I almost forgot what sportsmanship looked like but thankfully you wrote on-the-nose.
gosh, I thought it was embarrassing as a kid to have my mom cheering loudly from the stands. cannot imagine being the kid whose parents go out and make a fool out of themselves in front of everyone like this.
I am not too young but I am not too old either . I played high level basketball (aau, summer tourney, out of state basketball camps) all through middle and high school. It was high competition but I do not recall trash talk, or flexing after score. Half of the reason is because even the coaches didn’t play that even if we were up. The game has changed so much
As former player and coach, I blame this on street ball culture. Parents who instigate their children at the game’s should be removed. Any child who intentionally swing’s, trip’s, punches, or kicks another player should be removed. If you have a coach that is encouraging this type of play the whole team should be forfeited. This culture need’s to be stopped, you have first graders going at each other, it’s embarrassing.
street ball culture has always been a part of basketball to a certain extent. reffs, and coaches need to do their jobs. when i played in high school, our coach let a really good player go because the kid couldn't say yes sir and no sir. coaches need to realize its not all about winning, its about developing punk boys into productive young men.
Alot of it is more the AAU culture. /teams play to pay in tournaments. Then threaten to play in different tournaments in the future if they don't like the refs. So tournament directors ask the refs to call less technicals then they normally do.
Lucky to have a high school coach that always valued us becoming honorable men first and athletes second. Anywhere we went, we represented our school and city so we were held to high moral standards These kids need to prioritize their character over athletic ego.
I played many years as a kid and teen, the worst are the parents, kids only behave badly if the parent consents it. Those frustrated parents are disgusting, I always hated them even when they were from my team.
My coach would’ve never allowed this nonsense. Most of these altercations would’ve been avoided if these kids just passed the damn ball. Driving through the lane on 3 defenders to get trapped only to get mad is just embarrassing. You just showed your weakness to the other team and they will exploit it.
About thirty years ago I met someone that used to be a tough guy. I asked him why the limp? He also threw the ball off someone's face. He was found with two broken legs a month later.
The fact our high school games are getting riddled with this. Coaches are afraid to punish kids because of the system in place right now you can’t even tell a kid he did something wrong in a nice way. Sadly I hate to say a lot of it is the lack of fathers due to mothers divorcing them and keeping them from the child. These are young boys with talent and a gas tank with absolutely zero structure. I pray for them all. May they find the proper guidance to mold them into great men
Wow. So aggressive, so confrontational. I’m 61 y-o now, and played all through my youth in Milwaukee and Kansas City. It was always competitive, but also respectful. NEVER any fights or cheap shots on other players. Times are different. Sad.
Real sad. It s not only parents fault but principally the horrible behavior from some "professionals" in the NBA acting like real thugs every week. Insulting, trash talking, bullyng and disrespecting refs, adversaries, teammates and so on. Really sad
