As a runner, I had an aversion to sneakers with thick flat soles because they don't look very flexible and creates big creases on the toe box. But ever since I started upgrading my wardrobe, I've been more accepting of the style. I'm loving this series! Keep doing more on products most people are on the fence with.

Beyond worth, I have three pairs. I've worn them for years. Two pairs I've had for four years. They still look really new and the leather is so soft. They go with everything and people love them. Oh btw the all white BBall low that I own are even nicer. Also get them on Tres-bien if you in America you get 20% off.

Took the words out of my mouth. Been on CPs for years as well. Aside from a pair of nike trainers, it's the only sneakers I wear anymore. I daily the all whites and get compliments on them all the time. It's not even about that either, I just love them.

@@nmartin5700 I clean mine once every few months. White leather shoes especially good leather like the common projects hold up. White canvas is a no go. Also, they are very easy to clean. Sometimes I just use cleaning wipes lol.

Agreed. While the esthetic of these are a1 being a Gap/Uniqlo shopper i am happy with cheaper alternatives. Trying to convince myself to buy a shoe that literally speaking costs more than half of my mortgage is not and option.

I have the white pair in this video and I absolutely love them, I want more tbh! They go great with anything and pretty much any season too. It does take a while to break them in and make them to your own comfort though. But, she's right on the part that they start to look even better when they have some miles added to them!

Your assessment is pretty much spot on! A lot of competitors are coming up with a similar product, but I still think CP looks the best. I got a pair for around $250 when they were on sale at Farfetch. It's still not cheap for a pair of sneakers, but it's worth it at the reduced price.

I'm loving this new series Ashley! I love how you mentioned how the price isn't worth it for the average consumer and that many brands produce the same shoe but to a lesser extent and for a fraction of the price. Sometimes people get caught up in fashion that it blinds them when they purchase items (eg. 400 dollar sneakers) and they just justify it by saying "the quality is the best on the market" WHICH MAY BE TRUE, however, it is just a shoe. I've purchased a cheap knock-off of white vans from Urban Planet for $10 and they were terrible and broke within 2 months of wearing them. But I've also purchased Chelsea boots from HM and they still hold up perfectly even though I've worn it in the rain, snow and probably about 3 times a week since August 2017. Cheap things can last a long time, as long as you care for them.

I think these are worth it. I put like 50 bucks away for a few months and bought these 4 years ago and have worn them almost daily since... I’ve changed the laces out a couple times but the sneakers still look great. I would’ve gone through a few pairs of converse or Stan Smiths by now.

i owned these and absolutely loved them. the leather itself is pure quality, they feel and look amazing. I got a lot of compliments for these and most people didn't even know the brand. They'll feel uncomfortable at first (like all leather sneakers honestly) but once they mould to your feet it's just pure joy. Yes, the price is high, but you are paying for premium material and superb design, not to mention their durability. I would pay those 400 euros again if i had too.

But you can get the same for 1/2 of the cost. Common project was around 200 when it first came out and got doubled the price because they see how hyped up the shoes are.

They are perfect, but not great value when you look at other options that are very close in quality, common project being "by far the best" is a crazy statement, same sole, same leather same factory ......with CP you are certainly getting nothing exclusive, they are just pretty cool having a pair, this style is a must so go for it👌

Pure Idiocracy If you wear them a lot abd take good care they last you up to 4 years. But keep in mind that you shouldt wear them at Partys if youbwant them to Last for such a long oeriod of time. Still i think they are worth the money for that amount of quality and detail

If you buy them from online european sites like Norse Store or END you can get an out of EU discount. I got my second pair for $360 shipped from Norse Store. First pair was from Nordstroms when I didn't know about this.

Beside the price, these shoes fit in a very strange way. I didn't know I need to buy them in a smaller size and to wait for them to stretch. Because they are so narrow and long they will become super long for anyone with above average width. Also there is a major problem with heels slipping from the shoe as the heel area gets very wide when stepping on it which releases the heel from its place. I think they should create a wider version of these shoes because I bought them - and I am frustrated with the fit.

Hey guys, appreciating the videos but I'd enjoy it more if you could go into a little more detail about fit and comfort in these type of vids. I know everyone's feet are different but for example: Do they seem true-to-size in your experience? Accomodating for a wider foot? Any parts that rub and irritate? Do you need to break them in? Can you walk miles in them? etc.

B Cross For me personally they’re true to size, my GF has wide feet and she sized up and they fit perfect. They have a narrow toe as apposed to rounded. No areas have rubbed me in all honesty, and I didn’t need to break them in, the leather is so buttery and comfortable. And yes you can walk miles in them, I’ve walked all over Paris and London in CP’s and not even got a blister. Hope this helps you!

Personal preference with everything. I find these to be the best quality sneakers I’ve ever owned, after one year of wearing everyday I still get asked “Hey, are those new sneakers?” Because they look flawless still. The leather is buttery and comfortable from the first wear, I’ve walked all over London and Paris in these and not even got a blister. With everything you get what you pay for, I’ve had cheaper brands like Stan Smiths, and Zespa’s and they are not even close to CP’s

Love the CPs design and agree its the best quality whit sneaker out there but the price just kills my chances of buying a pair. That said another con worth mentioning is the narrow toe box. Unfortunately I have wide feet so unless CPs are made with my type of foot in mind, my foot will have to squeeze into the shoe. That said the best ide foot white sneaker worth trying is one from the Dutch brand Filling Pieces. Check them out!

Sunny Dutt They fit a little bigger though. I got them in a 45 which is supposed to be a US 12 but it fits a little bigger and has a lot of space. The bball lows for even bigger but they are made for white feet. Try the bball lows out. I wear them in 44 and they are perfect.

I have a pair of white Mercanti Fiorentini 48600 sneakers. I got them from DSW on sale for $60. The common projects look great, but I can’t imagine spending that much in sneakers when another pair looks just as good, also great quality, and a fraction of the price.

Hi you should have discussed the cost per wear for this product. Quality is always more important than cost. A product that last for years will always cost less than one that last a few months. I really enjoyed this luxury review. I know you always list designer and budget friendly items, but I would like to see more luxury item reviews. I really enjoy your channel.

Enjoyed the perspective. Though I’d have to respectfully disagree about giving them as much design credit as the video did. This silhouette was taken from the Adidas Stan Smith so it is really only the materials and craftsmanship that gives them some credibility. That being said, Koio and Oliver Cabell are fairly competitive in their price range as well.

Personally I love Common projects. I just don't think they are worth the price. I'd advise Undandy for anyone with a pair of common projects. They are wonderful and have many more options in the way of being customized.

Take a look at the Jak royal white. Recently bought them, because I was looking for a good common projects alternative. They have, in my opinion, a much cleaner design and only cost 140€. (I’m not affiliated to this company, just want to let you guys know of this alternative)

Great review of Common Projects. I would be very interested in your views on Duffel Coats. You haven't done any content on them and they are great. I recently bought a Gloverall mid-length Duffel and it's awesome. It's in the same family as the overcoat and peacoat, but probably a bit more casual. Would love to hear your thoughts.

It’s okay to admit that you want the shoes because of the brand - no matter how minimalist it is. Imagine if there were no numbers on the heel - would you even look twice at these? You want to be recognized in CPs, that you can fork out money like that. And that’s fine. What I don’t get is, how can something be not worth it when you don’t have the money, but then be worth it when you do have the money? Everything is worth it when you have money then.

For me the best White Sniker os the ECCO Soft 8 White, the Achilles are very nice, but for the price... and I doubt they are more comfortable than those I mentioned.

There are multiple ways to get common projects for a fraction of the price. I got my brand new for $200 from Grailed. For that price I'd say they're definitely worth it. I would never pay full retail for these sneakers.

Hi, I own a silver pair of Achilles low (I didn't find any other statement shoes that was as cool as this one) and I would say a strong contender would be the french brand National Standard with their Edition 3. The white ones are almost perfect, more comfortable right from the start and the price point is largely lower!

Not worth their retail price. However, you can find these on sale every now and then; especially from Endclothing. My two pairs cost 249 & 259 USD. Lanvin makes a similar style that is around the same price point as some Common Projects shoes and those are worth it on sale around 350 USD. If you want a similar shoe on a budget, go with COS (higher end H&M). Their sneakers retail for a bit over 100 USD, but can be bought for maybe 60 USD. There's definitely going to be a difference in quality, but what you get out of the COS sneakers, for the price, is pretty good value.

Design is almost always a matter of taste and subjective so I don‘t agree with you saying the CP has a Perfect design and silhouette stating it as a fact because its nothing more than your opinion. For me personally they are too slim and therefore kind of boring - just looking like an average 20€ shoe from a discounter. I prefer Stan Smiths or even Air Force One more when it comes to design and optic.

Hi - great videos. Appreciate the info you share constantly. Need advice - looking for a luxe pair of white sneakers. Had the Achilles at the top of my list.... but now I am looking at Tom Ford’s Warwick (all white). Any comparison or impression on the TFs? I understand the different price points, so really more focused on style. Ideally planning to wear them as casual shoes, but certainly would be open to pairing with office wear (light suiting) during the summer months. Thanks!

I was very unsure about these at first and bought new republic version of these and was happy. Then I decided to try these out in all gray and they are totally worth it if you’re not breaking your neck to afford them.

I’m in the same boat as you Jason, I went with the New Republic first and was satisfied but found the CP on StockkX for $220 and took the plunge. Well worth it! The differences were immediately apparent even though the New Republic version is damn good.

Keep these kind of videos coming - I’ve been debating whether or not to get a pair of CP’s. I have a pair of their suede olive color chelsea boots and like them. Got em for $322 out the door at a Nordstrom sale. They had the sneakers on sale too for about the same price. Are Bottega Venetta or Saint Laurent Chelsea Boots worth the near 1k price tag?

You could always go towards an all white leather chuck taylor low ankle shoe. They're just as clean looking, and it's produced by Nike which is and has been known for quality. Some go for $45-75, depending on the style.

Nice top ashley and also haircut, where is the top from? :) To the sneakers, dont know about US, but in europe you have a lot of high quality alternatives (especially in different colours) for much better price (still not cheap though). Especially local brands.

The numbers can be rubbed off but that defeats the purpose of buying common projects. Gustin makes the same white sneaker for 150 bucks if you want the same exact shoe without numbers

rky no other sneaker that i have found has the same shape as CPs and now i cant buy any other sneaker because of that fact. Im very picky but thats just me. Lots of people think its ridiculous but i think its Totally justfied at 300 bucks us new on ebay or grailed

These are the most uncomfortable sneakers i own. Not wide enough at the widest part of the feet. The rubber sole soon becomes yellow white. But I agree that they have the greatest design. Spot On.For alternatives check the NEW REPUBLIC BY MARK MCNAIRY, the KURT LEATHER SNEAKER for $89.00 USD. And also check the other models in the range. Although you won't get the gold numbers on the side, like CP Achilles Low, the design is identical to the CP.

More hyped, yes... the best white kix? I'd say no....The Diemme Veneto low White Nappa Leather for example is way more confortable, as clean and cheaper than the Achilles, the all white YSL court classic are also more confortable and classier than the Achilles. The all white Givenchy Urban Knots need some time to break in but they are classier as well...Don't get me wrong I like the Achilles (and the BBall low even tho they are not really confortable and crease as soon as you're trying them on) but I also think that they're mad overrated.

Buscemi 100 mm. LV Damier. Other good options on the vintage resell. Also boutiques and luxury retail have past season for up to 70 off. Have seen CPs for 220 new.

go check out asphalte paris, it’s a French brand that also propose a white sneaker with a very minimalist design, same quality but half the price. But imo, the best French brand for minimalist sneakers is National standard, definitely go take a look at their website.

Although the CP is the perfect sneaker IMO, for most people I think Svensson will be a great alternative. I believe they both come from the same manufacturer.

Loving the content, keep it up. Fall is coming and would like your take on some boots. I’ve been eyeing the Taft dragoon boot in rust and have ordered the Sheldon along with the Merchant from Red Wings (keeping only 1). I was also able to pick up some factory second from Red Wings I keep seeing other YTers pushing Thursday boots but for some reason I can’t pull the trigger on them. I’m not into them. No reason behind it aside from the fact that most of not all YTers are pushing it and it seems a little suspect. Am I missing out? Mahalo from Hawaii!

Brown Thought Thursday Boot sure has some aggressive marketing but allegedly there are quality control issues. Word is you should never buy them from Amazon. I'll probably wait a couple of years before buying a pair. That'll give them time to work out the kinks.

Z EP P EL IN you're right, I could wear them everyday but I love classic sneakers. If I wore these everyday, I would never get to wear all the rest of my shoes. You're definitely right about getting more use out of them than the AEs though. I rarely have the need to wear a suit so they do sit a lot.

I have a question about worth it. Brunello Cucinelli cashmere sweaters? They used to retal here around 400€-500€(550us $) now they are priced at around 900€ ($ 1000). Considering the ethical treatement of workers material quality... are they worth it?

Great content! What are your thoughts on Cole Haan shoes? Specifically the zero grand wingtip oxfords. I ask this because I heard you mention you were not too fund of dress shoes with casual soles. Was wondering if these fall in that category. I like them for more casual work attire: polos shirt, long chino etc...

If you wear these you will understand you're paying for quality, and its very noticeable. Another con is they make a lot of noise when walking from the leather rubbing.
