I have the exact same pair, and the squeaky sound goes away after a week of wear. It’s just a break in period. Most reviews I have seen for shoes are after at least 1 month of wear, and to post a review after 3 days is really unfair to the company. It is honestly one of the best sneakers I have owned for the price point.
We get to try a crapton of sneakers and frankly these were above and beyond the worst in regard to squeaking, even from day one, when others don't have this issue.
@@MrDW72 I think as the guy of this comment said, shoes squeak a lot when they're really new (I don't think that's weird, that's quite normal for leather shoes or even leather jackets I guess too). Once they are broken in, the squeaky sound stops.
I have some white leather sneakers that had a very bad squeaking issue out of the box too. I believe the issue mainly comes from the fact that the tongue leather rubs on the inside of the eyelet leather where the laces are looped. Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam has worked really well with my problem though! I apply a small amount of the balsam so it completely covers the part of the tongue that's in contact with the eyelets, and that usually gets rid of the squeaking. It's by no means a permanent solution though-- I need to reapply the balsam at least once a week to keep the squeaking away (I have no problem with this though, because I love my white leather sneakers). I have these shoes and love them. I sorta remember the squeaky thing being a problem during the break in (maybe first week or so) but they are totally silent now. I feel like giving them a fail for needing to be broken in is not fair but I also love things that last forever and need a bit of break in time like raw denim, redwings boots and wax canvas bags.
I have a pair of black low 1's. I rubbed some venetian leather balm in everywhere. It did the trick for me. I also have a couple pairs of suede low 1's and a pair of GAT's. None of those ever squeaked.
No squeaking from my Oliver Cabell shoes. My only problem was the pattern that the laces come in from the box. They were a pain to adjust, so I just took the laces out and put them in the more common way.
I disagree with this review. Imo they are exceptional value for the price. Leather is soft and very comfortable (even right out of the box), design is magnificent and the price is very reasonable for such a great shoe. For me NO NOISES at all! I have worn them for 8 hours straight on the first day. No issues at all! Best sneaker in this price range I ever owned!!!

Hi guys, loving the vid, very informative as always... So I was wondering if the laces on these are leather? when I bought my CP Achilles I bought a separate pair of leather laces with gold tips which I thought would compliment the gold numbering on the rear, side of the heel. but when I walked in them they made this awful creaking sound which was the leather of the laces rubbing on the leather of the shoe holes , so I was wondering could it be the same problem with the Oliver Cabell'? suffice to say I reverted back the cotton laces they came with, although even these I found to be rather short in length so I had to order longer ones. so to reiterate... could it be leather on leather that is causing the creaking sound? Either it's something they need to rectify before I consider going ahead with my purchase, as I have been looking at these as my next "white leather sneaker choice" but not when they sound like that!!!

I have they’re track pants and navy blue chinos they are great I love them my only negative to the chino is that the pockets are not deep and same for the back pocket also I picks up lint ): other than that they look great feel great quality is good and tailored nicely did a review of the chino on my channel (I’m not a professional RU-vidr lol)
I used the Adidas Smith before it was called the Hallet the great and I mean great French Davis Cup player. This shoe is terrific ! Narrower , the Hallet and for a time the Smith also in a narrow shoe. Great !

the design of these low cut sneakers is mostly the same- symmetric and narrow. i've looked at all these brands and Koio is afaik the only one with a WIDE option on their website (D is regular, E is wide). the New Balance i wear is 10.5 2E and it is perfect for my feet. so i guess a Koio 10 Wide would mold me better after breaking it in.
Polish / coating on the floor and the finish on the sole can combine to make them squeak. Its not the leather or the laces. There could also be a sweat / moisture issue causing the squeak internally. Take a light grade of sandpaper to the sole and take off the coating on the sole, plus a quick rub around the inside of the heel cup with a degreaser or light alcohol solution (one of your aftershaves / colognes) may help with your issues. Not really something you should be doing with $180 sneakers, but if you want to enjoy the "pro's" of these shoes, then maybe you should try these fizes. They worked on 2 pairs of Adidas Stan's that I have. Good Luck. Love these sneakers btw, and thanks for another great video.
I think it really depends on if you wear with socks or sockless/invisible socks. I have a pair of all leather cos, squeaks a bit when I wear with invisible socks after long walks cuz of friction of leather on moisture of my skin, with full length socks no noise.

Make an are they worth it on Stance Socks. The most I have used on sock is the Uniqlo sock for $3 or 4 for $10 and got more experience designer socks like Polo Ralph Lauren and Paul Smith that I have got as a gift but is the Stance Socks that cost $15 and is worn by Raper's, NBA all stars and sneakerheads really worth it?
I've owned adidas Gazelles that had the squeaking issue but also some that don't... but to have two pairs of different sizes that both did this is bizarre and concerning.
My problem with the laces was that they're a pain to adjust with the pattern they come from the box. I took them out and used a common pattern. A world of difference in comfort.
I have the exact same pair, not only they are squeaky but the most important is they are very uncomfortable!! Every time I'm wearing them I'm getting big blasters on the Achilles part of my foot. So disappointing I love the style but I avoid wearing them
I have a pair, no sound issue at all, not sure what you guys talk about man. I think all high quality leather shoes need certain break in period, u just need to wear your pair a bit more man.
Here is a question can you do a video on how pants should fit/tapper in the knee area down and how big should the hole be on bottom of pants that go over your shoes.
The Common Projects are really squeaky too but not as BAD as these. Not sure why. I wear baby powder and it helps alleviate it. I know it's odd but I did it for the CP's and works like a charm. But i've been on the fence with these sneakers with more of their suede collection. I wouldn't buy the leather ones on these (but that's my personal taste).
