Good evening André and Lisa. I also traveled with the motorhome in Spain for two weeks in September, I recommend the simply beautiful river, known as the peaks of Europe. Gijon, Leon, Zamora, Baiona, between others in short, each place is better than the other. Of course, at this time of year they may not be as attractive but they still have the beauty of the season. Kisses and see you in the next video 💙😘
Thank you for your suggestions! Yes, we are thinking of going to explore those areas in the spring of next year rather. Thanks for travelling with us! 😍
Hello! Very nice to "travel" with you. About 30 years ago I drove a tourist bus from Sweden to Lloret de Mar with trips up to Andorra. In the same season, I drove to San Marino from Lido di Jesolo in Italy. 🥰
Hello again! It is now 30 years ago, so of course some changes have happened. Can't quite remember what it looked like, but we parked the bus in a parking lot in the center. Can't see on google maps that that parking is still there. But I could be wrong. My girlfriend and I continue to "travel" with you. Hugs from Denmark.
Hello Andre and Lisa! We were standing behind you last night in Sant Pere de Riudebitlles. Have now Watch your videos, the same thing for us - escape from the bad weather in France. We will be travelling around Spain and go back to the north of Sweden in march (we left in mid september). Maybe we ending up at the same place again. Have a nice trip and drive safe. Annika and Peder from Sweden
Lisa! André! Bienvenidos a España!!
Bedankt Peter & Cora! At least now we showed you Andorra la Vella and you don't have to find parking! Happy travels and we drink a whisky together from Spain! 😊
Perhaps the season has a lot to do with it. Other commented that they enjoyed their time there. We were slightly underwhelmed but was rushed due to the cold weather.
Hey both, another great vlog. I'm with you on your comments about Andorra, nice scenery but it didn't do much for us either, a little like Gibraltar really. Anyway enjoy Spain, you guys with no Schengen restrictions, so you can just wander and find the delights of that country. Saville is a must though, cross the bridge and find the market, Lisa will love the food on offer. Stay safe 👍
Thanks for your comment! Yes, we are very grateful for our 'freedom' to roam the way we do 😊 We have visited Seville last year, it is indeed a very special place! Thanks for watching! 😍
We were in Denia for 4 nights last week, and loved it there. There's a great castle to visit with lovely views. For the first 2 nights we parked at a free 48hr car park 1min walk from the sea front. We then spent 2 nights at the port car park for free. The marina was behind us and the beach in front of us! We are now in a campsite in Javea, but have seen 2 free carparks right next to the beach, so will go there in a few days. By the way, we spent 2 weeks in Andorra in July, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The scenery is stunning. We went up mountains in a cable cars and a chairlift, walked around lakes and walked across a very long and high suspension bridge. There is a fantastic free park-up in the mountains that we stayed at, and we found an aire for €8. We are loving your videos and look forward to seeing where you go to next!
Thanks so much Suzie, we'll definitely be heading in that direction so will look for those spots for sure! Wow, I guess visiting Andorra in summer is much better for hiking. But the dusting of snow was pretty cool for us! Are you continuing southwards? Thanks for watching and happy travels! 😍
Yes, we are going to slowly head south. We are from the UK and sold our house in April and live full-time in our van with our 2 children. We will meet up with another family in the next few weeks, and we are all planning on going to Morocco in January, so that we don't have to go back to the miserable weather in the UK! We also went through Andorra 3wks ago for a few days. We planned to stay overnight in the same carpark you stopped at on the mountain. It was way too cold up there, so we went down the hill to Pas de la Casa and paid about €5 for the night. Please think about Andorra in the summer. It is a wonderful country!
😂 Everyone is telling us we have to give Andorra another chance in the summer so maybe we will! We are also planning on going to Morocco in January so we might still see you somewhere along the way. Happy travels! 😊
Hi there. Had never heard of Andora and had to look it up on Google Maps. Love Spain and Portugal, although only seen some of it, part of it doing 6 days of the Camino into Santiago de Compostela in September. Hope to get back there again some time, but a long way to come from the bottom of Africa. Enjoy
Oh yes, we completely understand where you're coming from! That's partly why we feel like we should try to see as much as possible while we're 'on this side of the world'! Thanks for travelling with us and hope you'll get back to Spain and Portugal some time! 😊
Ahhh you guys with your non-schenglan restrictions!!! 😀 Lovely film guys - some reassuring moments for us - idiots are everywhere, like the guys parking their cars across the big spaces in the car park! AND waiting at the wrong bus stop, one of our favourites 🤣 happy travels south guys 🌞❤
😂 We're not going to lie, we are grateful for our 'freedom'! Oh yes, being experienced travellers doesn't mean not making travel mistakes, hopefully it just means not being too phased when you do! 😝 We'll try to send you some sun up north! Thanks as always for travelling with us! 😜
Coincidentally just watched your video while parked at Gironella on our to Andorra. A place we loved in Spain was Peniscola castle. 5 euro and it’s vast. Have you been there before? Love the videos 👍
That's coincidental indeed, welcome to our channel! Thanks for the tip, no we haven't been there so will add it to the never-ending list! Thanks for joining us, hope you'll continue to travel along! Happy travels! 😊
We almost went westwards towards Galicia.. Happy to say the weather in Catalunya is brilliant right now. Shorts and t-shirt brilliant 😍 We will give that area a try again next spring. Happy travels!
My favourite part of Spain is Andalusia. I love Granada, Malaga, Cadiz and Jerez, and even more so the little towns along the back roads like Ronda (touristy), Marinaleda (Soviet town) and the lakeside Linares de la Sierra. Veilig ry julle twee! Jaloers
Cyril! Lekker blast from the past.
Hey André & Lisa, I so hope that Lisa did not sing, we are never going back to Andorra as you left. Because it’s such a pity, you drove by some beautiful places as you drove directly into Andorra la Vella, as the viewingpoint Mirador Roc del Quer in Canillo where you have views over the magnificence of the Pyrenees, the beautiful churches Sant Joan de Caselles and Santuario de Meritxell (this is a more Modern Church but also beautiful), Pont Tibetà Andorra, Cascade de Moles between Canillo and Encamp and a lot more, maybe this wasn’t the right season for you to go there. Groetjes Rita 👋
Don't worry Rita, maybe we will go back one day and give Andorra another chance! But we will take your advice next time and go when the weather is better. We had such a short window without rain that we just couldn't see all those places. Do you visit them with a motorhome or van? We really wanted to go to Canillo so maybe next time. Thanks for always travelling with us! 😍
Oh I am happy to hear that, I felt so terrible that André was so disappointed 😬, and I know you have to look beyond the touristy bit, but when you do there are some gems there. We were in Andorra several times, but last July we were there for the first time with our motorhome we did some Hiking, Bike trips and some beautiful walkingtrails. We also went skying there some years ago, fun thing was you never had to ask how the weather would be, because every day we had blue sky and sun. Andorra has +/-300 day’s sun ☀️ per year.
Not disappointed as such, just a tiny little underwhelmed. 🙃 It's certainly not fair too negative of any place after such a short time there - and we know there's a lot more to Andorra than what we experienced in just 2 days. 😀
We’re at the River center now. Totally agree about the prices. We thought we’d do a bit of Xmas shopping but comparing the prices on Amazon we might as well wait until we get home. Alcohol is about the same as Spain. The perfume in ‘Julie’s’ here is quite a bit cheaper but they don’t seem to have the latest fragrances. It’s worth mentioning that you can get a data phone signal in the car park at the river center so can check prices! And you get 5% off fuel when you buy anything at the center.
We also found the Wi-Fi signal in the River parking lot but we parked just too far away to use it from our van. But it was definitely handy. In Spain we've found diesel for 1.41 - even cheaper if you use a loyalty card.
Hello, I do enjoy watching your vlogs, great fun and also some superb drone footage. If you’re in the area, check out the town of Albaracin, it’s a very cute mountain top medieval town - 40°24'26"N 1°26'36"W.
You have most probably moved on by now, but for future reference... I could spend months in the Girona/ Costa Brava area. Coastal walk to the most beautiful cove of many beautiful coves, Cala s'Algner. The Terracotta museum, Dali Theatre & museum, Salvador Dali house in Port Lligat near Cadaques, all the public gardens, the ancient villages...
Luckily we are REALLY slow travellers so we are still very much in this area! 😝 Thank you Adrianna for the great suggestions, we've marked them all now and will see how many of them we can get to. 🤗
In the capital, there were loads of hotspots available. At the River Centre the Wi-Fi is pretty good and you can even pick it up in the parking area. We did not look at local sims as we were just passing through.
Have a look at Javia and Moraria stunning places just below denia You can park up in Moraria on the local car park 100mts walk to restaurants Javia has 2 nice camp sites or park in street Plus just up the road there is a water and brown waste dump Just outside Valencia north there is a park up right on the beach with no facilities on a big flat field it's on park up if you want where it is let me know
Wow, thanks for those tips Paul! We've marked them on our map and will most likely visit them as we do plan on spending some time in that area. It would be great if you could let us know the parking near Valencia on the beach please? Thanks for watching! 😊
El Puigde De Santa Maria It's on Search for sites Sat ref S44281S Just above Valencia you can see Valencia from the park up nice bike ride Don't go to the other site there auto caravans it's not nice If you go to Javia let me know there is an amazing park up near the light house on the headland Wanted to send you a picture but can't do it you look down on to Javia bay
Another amazing video. I totally forgot Andorra is independent country. In my head it was like a province of Catalonia. Maybe because most population speak Catalonian or maybe because since formation of EU Andorra is too deep inside EU and too small to stay independent like Switzerland. But I just found out it is actually not part of the EU? So it is not part of the Schengen zone? Did you have to use your passports entering the country? Is there any visa requirement? I see they still use Euro as a currency even if they are not part of the EU. Like Montenegro. I did expect lower vegetation on higher grounds but actually there is so little... Maybe that is why it is good for skiing. There are not many tall pine trees to jump in front of you while you are sliding downhill. And talking about downhill, watching your video coming from the top those road speed limit signs are a bit ridiculous just like elsewhere. Serpentine section downhill clear view ahead and they had to put so many speed change restricting signes. 70-30-70-30... Like they try to teach you how to drive again. So many signes, make you start ignoring them not because you are a bad driver, but human nature reaction when you get information overload. I think Austria local road signage is the best. I drove at night in Austria on local roads and you see the band ahead and no idea is it a mild or sharp bend (days when there was no GPS to show you the road ahead). If you dont see the speed limit change in signage, you can be sure it is a very mild bend ahead just like if you see the change in speed limit and you take the bend faster, you will be on 3 wheels in the bend or worst. What is with those traffic rule decision making officials? Do they have a driving licence at all? And I agree with Andre, I dont like snow either. The only time I can say snow is beautiful is when you wake up in the morning and the first snow covered overnight the whole area in white and you go out and start making first footsteps through it. Weather is calm, no wind and everything is covered in white. But then sooner or later comes the time when rain starts to melt the snow, everything is gray and wet and muddy and slippery, then wind joins the party and anywhere you go you need so much extra time to get there. You get wet from inside out. You put on all those water resistant clothes and footwear but when snow is melting it is not too cold so you start sweating inside your clothes and footwear. You end up wet either way. Snow is good only for winter sports and those activities but I will trade in winter for summer any time... This is why it is nice to sit in warm place and watch other people making great videos like you and freezing their butt for us instead, while we enjoy the benefit. I know it sounds selfish, but it is actually your goodness of your hearts you are willing to share your experiences that allow us to be selfish like this. So thank you again for the upload.
Thank you! Yes, Andorra is also not technically part of Schengen, but it has no border controls as you have no choice but to enter from Schengen countries. We did not show our passport to anyone but as we entered we did pass the border points which had manned booths. We were waved through though - maybe because we have an Italian vehicle and also a campervan. I (Andre) is right with you on the snow issue. It's great for a few hours but then it's just wet, cold slush that makes things miserable 😅 Thankfully, we've now find somewhat warmer and drier weather - for now at least! All the best!
