Fab video! For archery games it's pretty game changing tbh as you can accurately draw and hold shots, with Quest 2 the controller near your face goes crazy! That's probably my favourite thing about the new Pro controllers is how close you can track near your face. In FPS games you can now put the controller right under your chin and still track perfectly so scoped weapons or optics that are setup closer to the face don't cause the same glitchy tracking problems we see with Quest 2.

I ordered them because my left controller is drifting for some reason. I was going to order just the left one that was drifting but since I'm using the og oculus quest 2 controller I'd have to get the slightly updated meta quest 2 controller and so I figured if I have to get both may as well get these.

Hello, i bought the meta quest pro controllers a few days ago, i paired them and after four hours of updating it was at 0%. I contacted meta about it and they said to factory reset my headset. but i didn't have the meta quest 3 controllers paired and i couldn't update the controllers anymore because it said it needed internet for them to update. Now I'm stuck at the quest 3 tutorial screen with nothing to do. I don't know what to do anymore, ive been looking all around in youtube, meta support and even vr game discord servers. If you know what to do, then please let me know.

i felt that same thing with the thumb sticks but it was just the fact that it was used for a year lol. i had a new set of controllers side by side with the touch pro and they were exactly the same i had to test a new pair side by side to make sure if it was the controllers being different from the factory or if it was just cause mine were used and it was the latter.

Yep. i got mine a few weeks ago as well. Love em. never going back now. They are better. If you can afford them, I would get them. ALMOST as good as my Index Controllers.

some people say FPS games are pretty bad for this, Especially if you use a gun stock, where the controllers just go into “standby” and start drifting when you stay still for a while

That was the Mag-Lock Pro from KobraVR. They actually don't sell that particular stock anymore as it was only compatible with the Quest Pro controllers. They do however sell what they call the Mag-Lock Ultra now that is compatible with both the Quest Pro and Quest 3 controllers though. I think the charging I hate is because you only have one charger so there is no other brand of charger to charge the controllers. So you have to buy a whole new charger for the controllers.

I received my Quest Pro controllers a week ago to use with my Quest 2. The controllers are nice and work well. If you play games like Beat Saber or Pistol Whip, then save your money. The stock controllers work good enough for games like that. I got them to play games like Pavlov. The tracking is better them the stock controllers, but not as good as outside tracking of my Rift CV1. Some of this just might be the Quest 2 it's self. When I play Pavlov with the Quest 2 using the Oculus link USB cable there is a slight stutter. When I play with my Rift and am aiming down the sites, it is rock solid.

@losslessthoughts I purchased a Quest 3 and am using the pro controllers with it. The pro controller are definitely better than the ones that come with the Q3. My only complaint with pro controllers besides the cost, is their battery's drain even when you are not using them. I have charged them and several days later go to use them and they are almost dead.

What's tue tracking issue with stock? In the saber dojo inuse dual sabers. Simply becuase i can hold one behind my back and blocks sneak blasts. The stock controllera teack fine out of sight.

I tell you want I'm a owner of quest 2 and psvr2 and if the pro can't top psvr2 I don't want it....however if the quest 3 has nice specs I'll upgrade to that but I do love my psvr2 120hz with oled lenses is fonomnal so it's going to be tough getting me out of it

they could have made them cheaper by having them pair together and share a processor, although idk how thatd work. my phones got a 665, and its dog**** now, no idea why, used to run great, then one day, one update it now takes 30 seconds to open from sleep.miss alot of calls and gotta call back. or better yet, just use my watch to answer if im wearing it.

They aren't the same. The quest pro controllers have their own cameras to track even when they aren't in sight of the headsets cameras. They have other upgrades but I don't think it's worth the upgrade for quest 3

How do I upgrade the firmware, I'm stumped and don't know what to do because they're not updating Edit: I fixed my problem, it seems the firmware doesn't want to update. So I had to factory reset my headset with pro controllers still connected to it, the setup process is a pain trying to press the correct tabs with them. But after you finish setting up your wifi, re-updating the headset, and skipping tutorials, the pop up and precent bar will finally show and during the process the controllers will blink purple so do not turn them off, or the update will restart, so after the controllers stop blinking, make sure the controllers are finally connected and can be used before you can rest. By the way I figured this out myself and had to take a gamble for this. Thank God it worked for me, hope it'll work for anyone having problems

I just got some a few hours ago for my quest 3. First off if you like to play outside they are a must have. Iv been playing beatsaber for 2 hours In my backyard and every miss I can say I had was because I suck lol the game is so smooth outside. I'm sold

That was the Mag-Lock Pro from KobraVR. They actually don't sell that model anymore because it was specific to the Quest Pro controllers, but they do sell a new model called the Mag-Lock Ultra that works with both the Quest Pro and Quest 3 controllers. If your quest 2 or 3 controllers break like mine did, they are worth the extra price to upgrade vs buying the same controllers for your headset. For me this was a no brainer

Yep, agreed. I like the Pro controllers and will of course be using them since I now have a pair but I definitely don't think what you get over the standard Quest 2 controllers is worth the premium.

@@Maraksot78 I agree. I will be using them going foward as well if just for the fact the dang rings are gone! I always hated those things. Shooters are my fav games to play in VR and they always got in the way, unless i was playing my index. The price was worth it to me on just that alone.

Can't wait for my PSVR2 to come next month and to play Resident Evil Village & RE 4 on it and Horizon call of the mountain and other fully fleshed out AAA titles!! I see the games are full price so they better be crackin.. Resident Evil Village is a top 3 game of mine so that alone will be so fun on VR!!! Nice video for the pro controllers here man

Okay FAIR WARNING to anyone buying Quest Pro controllers. They have two main issue, and if you don't think you would like to deal with it, Don't buy them. First issue. The Controller has a tendency to overheat. With having to power all of the camera's to track, the controllers get very hot for extended use. Second Main Issue: ALL the quest pro controllers have a bug. A bug where if you aren't touch the trigger, The controller will STILL detect that it's touching the trigger. For those of you who only wanna play VRChat, This means that your gestures will be stuck or locked because the controller THINKS you are touching the trigger, when they are not. This gets incredibly annoying, and there is an open ticket on their support where multiple people have this same issue, including and still remaining after RMA. The dirty the controllers get, the more this issue stands out and happens too. Meta has not come out with a fix, and doesn't plan to fix it either, though has confirmed it is a software issue.

For those thinking of getting the Quest Pro controllers read this first. The tracking is better on the Quest Pro controllers when out of sight of the headset but worse when in sight of the headset. Why are they worse in sight, because the Pro controllers to save battery keep doing micro sleeps so the controllers keep jumping around a few inches when you go to do something that requires great accuracy it is very noticeable. Until this is fixed in the software the pro controllers are actually a downgrade for playing most games. This is a known issue at Meta and is hopefully solved quickly.

@FreeStyler just so you know Beat Saber is not a game you can check the high accuracy of the controllers with. Beat Saber is great for checking the speed of the tracking. A good game to check the accuracy in something like Contractors and doing long range sniping. This is where they are not as accurate at the moment as the standard Quest 2 controllers. That is until meta do the updates they require, then they ll definitely be the most accurate.

@@mnc303 Looks like you're just backtracking what you said now and you're contradicting yourself. You first said the Pro controllers are worse when in sight of the headset but that's clearly not true looking at the Beat saber video, and then you said the pro controllers problem is very noticeable for something that requires great accuracy. You clearly have not played beat saber and actually tried playing based on accuracy. It's incredibly hard to not only play fast and read the patterns to react, but at the same time cutting the blocks accurately at 95-98% accuracy. It requires a lot of skill, which is what separates the top 10 players from others. Also, FYI. I never had a single issue at all playing FPS games and if it's such a big issue then there would be various videos reporting on the issue and showcasing the problem with various examples. I haven't seen anything like that not like it matters because I don't have the problem. There's a lot of misinformation that you're giving here with zero evidence meanwhile I provided the opinion of a 1% top player on Beat saber.

You can no longer use pro controllers with quest 2. They get stuck updating firmware so unless you already had it you're screwed and meta won't do anything

Its almost a troubleahooting situation, Here's what to do, make sure the pro controllers are connected to the quest, then factory reset the quest. It's a pain to try and use the controllers to go through the set up menus, but when you finally get the wifi on the quest and skip the tutorials, you'll see a pop up that'll show your controllers being updated, the controllers themselves will start blinking purple lights as they update so don't turn them off untill they are done, and voila. I took the huge chance of factory reseting, was praying they wouldn't work and make my headset a brick. But thank got it works. Edit: don't know if this will work for all, but it worked for me, I took a leap there because no one mentions or had a problem with firmware updating them

The problem of Meta is obvious. You need to keep paying tons of money to upgrade this and upgrade that to make it comfortable and usable. At the end of the day, you can never play any AAA VR sim racing games with full AAA graphics. If Meta insists on using those powerless mobile gpu, its metaverse dream will fail horribly. You need at least the AMD Oberon gpu, which is 10 times faster than snapdragon XR+, to play anything with serious AAA non-childish graphics.
