I 100% agree with you. On all of your points. 1. Hasbro is sh💩t 2. Unintentional cruel intentions my butt 3. This is absolutely a blessing in disguise for the smaller creator. Isn’t it interesting that them SOB’s over at Hasbro actually take advantage of kickstarter A LOT !!! I told my husband I am done with hasbro. And I haven’t bought a figure since. Matter of fact I have found a small company called valaverse (might have spelled it wrong) that sells GI Joe type figures that actually move well AND have actual accessories that can be removed and used😱. Oh and D&D is absolutely art. 👍😎
Reading the royalties section makes me realize that they expect you to come to them with the amount you are meant to pay. You are responsible for figuring out how much you owe and the way its worded makes it sound like there is no communication between wotc and whoever they believe owes them money. And if they have to put in the leg work to figure out you underpaid them, you have to pay for that as well. The point about them being able to shut down a project with 30 days notice has me worried as well. Yeah they aren't taking money from you but they basically are by stopping you from being able to fund something. Everything going on makes me glad my group has switched to playing pathfinder.
"Oh boy." Yeah, that about sums it up. 🤣 Yeah, like the only reason I bought D&D stuff was because of content creators. I don't actually play the game. I bought the rules book just so I can better follow along with the podcasts/channels. The stories that these content creators come up with are better than 90% of the shit on TV and in movies.
Since WotC thinks it's customers are pathetic fools STOP being one of their customers. Free yourselves 100%. Go back to paper and pencil foundations. It isn't as if there are a lack of game settings/companies or your own imaginations.
