Jordan gonna give Melo a call after this interview lol. Left Jordan off the all-time team and put the Dream Team lower in the rankings than the ‘08 team he's tripping 😂
What? Dude, he left Jordan off the list, included himself and claimed that Jordan did not see the Fiba competition and that is why he could not be on the list. Like Jordan could not handle the competition? All you people who did not see him play do not understand what he did to people, No one could do what that man did, PERIOD! He is only saying he would not trade the 3 gold medals is easy because he never won an NBA ring, therefore he has an agenda and a built in EXCUSE!
Melo hit the nail on the head from a fan perspective when talking about trading his Olympic medals for an NBA ring. Nothing compares even remotely to the amount of excitement and pride any USA basketball fan felt yesterday watching that game. You can see Melo standing the ENTIRE comeback run on the video's out there. He is the team usa player I always think of first.
Exactly, non basketball fans outside the US know only Lakers, Celtics and Bulls, and cannot name the current nba champion (well, before getting interrested in basket I didn't even knew Celtics tbh), whereas everyone in the world know about team USA at the olympics.
The Atlanta '96 USA team is often overlooked and it is a MONSTROUS team: Charles Barkley, Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, David Robinson, Scottie Pippen, Mitch Richmond, Reggie Miller, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Shaquille O'Neal, Gary Payton and Hakeen Olajuwon. After the OG Dream Team, this team from '96 is the best. Melo and Bron got nothin' on 'em!
Melo is a great basketball player, that's why he was better in FIBA. NBA rules suck. NBA is a "travelling" league. And an Olympic gold medal tells me more about you as a player than a NBA ring. So many suckers have rings but only the top players have a gold medal. Just to be in the team is a testimony of your excellence.
@@MonkeyD.Moritz I obviously watched the whole thing. That’s why I have the time stamp! This post is for people who just want an answer to the clickbait title. If you’re here for the whole interview, good for you. Why are you even replying????
If you're talking about pressure 92' had the most. US was coming out of an almost perfect record in the olympics playing only college players and all of a sudden you are allowed to play you best players. if that team lost the amount of slander they would get would be unimaginable.
3 Olympics ring make sense but an NBA ring cements most of your greatness. In the Olympics he is playing with an all star roster and calibre coaching staff. The pressure is not on him.
Carmello Anthony is not even in the top 20 players of all time and he is putting himself in the starting lineup all time for any Olympic team for USA,LMAO!
I think for one or two golds, yes because you'd have both. But for three I can understand why no. However getting an NBA ring would be etched in you forever but not with an Olympic gold for basketball.
You got the NBA Championship for your fans, your city and yourself..... the Medal is for his country that's different dude, its not about legacy its about your origin your allegiance to your country. Saying you would rather have the NBA Chip than the Gold Medal is like treason.
his ncaa chip is worth more than his gold medals. a usa basketball gold medal is worth shit compared 2 an nba ring, more like winning the in season tournament...
In basketball, an nba championship worths more than 10 gold Olympic medals. In track in field for example, a gold Olympic medal worths than any other trophy.
LOL Michael Jordan led Team USA to an 8-0 record over the NBA All-Stars in preparation for the 1984 Olympics. .... think about that for a second..Michael Jordan Led Team USA To An 8-0 Record Over NBA All-Stars Before He Entered The NBA
Starting off by stating that the 2008 team was better than the 1992 🤣 … killed any credibility he had. I had a hard time continuing to listen through to more BS until the end 🫠, not to mention the factual inaccuracies (does he really not know that MJ played in two Olympics and won two golds or is it just misinfo he wants to push?).
hahaha....stil I would pic the 2008 than the 1992..... maybe he is not well informed that jordan played in 1984 but Jordan is in the GOAT convo in the olympics, he is anthony edwards in the olympics a role player sorry to tell you that but that is a fact.... And are more credible than Melo then?
Melo is all about individual accolades. His style of play in Knicks basketball made it boring. He didn't want Lin to be part of the team and style of play since he wants to be center of attention and just play half court basketball where he just post up every possession. He doesn't care about winning as a team hence zero in NBA Championship rings. That's harder to accomplish than Olympic rings where the USA is already stacked.
@gman8105 i stop reading your emotional paragraph after you lied about the Lin thing. Lin and Melo are spoke on this and y’all made up story of him being selfish towards Lin never happened.
Nba championship is better achievement for american players, but an olympic basketball gold will cement you in basketball history if youre not american because that would mean you have beaten team USA.
@@oroc1226 not really. He scored a lot against like Nigeria but in crunch time in the classic gold medal games against Spain he was on the bench. He was never the 1st option, or 2nd or even third.
