My understanding was Action 52 was sold directly to rental stores at that $199 price point before being sold to direct to consumers for non-retail at a lower price. Anything you see mention or debunk this?

@@johnmickey5017 I haven't heard about it, but it could be true. A brand-new Genesis was $200 at the time (or both NES and Gen were $150 each at best). I dont see the smaller rental stores being able to buy a game that cost as much as a system back then. The company probably tried many ways at trying to sell it, so it makes sense. I just dont know if a store had any inventory on hand of the games. Nintendo forbid retailers to carry unlicensed NES games, so many had to use mail order and magazines. I do know that Wisdom Tree had many unsold cartridges on hand for many years, but as the internet grew, people started calling them up and buying their inventory. So it's possible that many bought Action 52 AFTER the early 2000s. There's a guy out there that worked for the company, and some retro gamers have interviewed him, so that might give you some answers:) Hope that helps.

@@johnmickey5017 I think it was Game Chasers, but not sure. Some old guy had cartridges of Cheetah Men 2 but he had the roms fixed so they played properly now. It was years ago, but they talked to him about the company a little.

I recently realized, to my horror, that we are not too far off from the Michael Bay Transformers movies becoming nostalgia. I was in my early 20's when they came out and was mostly suckered in on nostalgia about the Transformers cartoon and toyline which I had both loved as a young kid (like most of us I guess). The Michael Bay trilogy hit about 15 years after the original Transformer hype had died down entirely when all those young kids had become young adults and enough time had passed to develop childhood nostalgia. We are not too far off from the same thing repeating because the first Michael Bay movie came out 15 years ago, in 2007. But hell if I knew if nostalgia still works the same way with the internet and all that.

I think it would depend on your age, the older people would point to the 16bit arcade era maybe.

I have faith they'll reunite in the next few years.

You can because it came out before the ps2 while the PlayStation was still going strong but to be fair I would put it in the ps2 gamecube og xbox era.

@@brendanroberts1310 If you believe everyone in the industry (and rest of the world) is wrong about which consoles are in which generations, you are free to "fix" that page and correct all of us. Or, accept that, as the sole outlier, you are the one whom is incorrect.

Just let people live how they want to. You don't have to judge perfectly reasonable life choices.
