I rarely disagree with Rev.. but i dont see how you could have Ja over Ant. Ja is the better playmaker, but Ant's by no means a bad one, and I think he's so much more well-rounded everywhere else that it makes this exercise seem pedantic. He's also bigger, more reliable, and arguably more athletic. Ant has also shown the willingness and ability to rapidly improve in areas where he's deficient. His 3pt shooting and playmaking have been questionable, but he's only gotten better at both of those things since he's been in the league.
Ant is a way better 3 point shooter than Ja. Ja's 3 point shooting is the one thats questionable. Ja doesn't even shoot threes like that. Most he has attempted in 1 season is 300. Anthony Edwards is an ACTUAL 3 point shooter. He has MADE over 200 three pointers in multiple seasons. He had shot over 520 threes every season. Ja and Ant are nowhere near comparable when it comes to 3 point shooting. It's like night and day. Watching them both shoot 3s, I HOPE Ja makes it where I EXPECT Ant to make it. Ant is a WAY better shooter.
@tjaydagreat That was my point. I'm not sure you understood me. I was talking about when Ant came into the league. When he was drafted, one of the question marks about him was if he could develop a consistent 3pt shot. Obviously, he has. He can still be a bit streaky at times, but considering how he's progressed up to this point, I see no reason to believe that he won't continue to improve. I know Ja's shot is questionable. That was my point. He hasn't shown that same level of development. Hope that clarifies 👍
Yes I’m not saying he is inconsistent I didn’t say that but ja will give me more cleaner games come playoff time but I do agree Anthony Edwards is better cause of upside
Joel! Ant has given us no reason to doubt him, he will only get better. Taking him over free throw merchants like SGA is valid especially considering the future. (Even tho I take ant current anyways)
Ant over Ja. What’s the point in being great at basketball if you need to keep flashing a gun about or having a member of your crew pointing weapons with laser sights at those you have a disagreement with? To be great you have to be on the court, not going to court!
I’m a Heat Fan 1st but I acknowledge Ant is one of the best players in the league, don’t over look SGA. Ant is more exciting but SGA beat him in every metric statistically except for excitement. I invest in cards and I have both ANT and SGA’s graded PSA 10’s autographed etc. I can’t lose but this is fun to watch. As a a fan you should all be buying these cards signed and graded if you believe in these players. We all win in the long run. Don’t believe me? There are Curry rookie cards going for 125K on ebay right now….let that set in.
You aren’t the only one noticing SGA’s midrange dominance. Thank You. I’m not advocating for either player but as a fan and collector it’s important not to form too much bias for either player 👍.
Luka is the 2nd best player and the best guard in the league. But if Luka doesn't make it to the WCF and Ant does, playing the way he is, then I believe Ant can get that title.
Ja vs ant in playoffs: Ja 27/7/8.5 45% fg 36% 3pt Ant 29/5.5/5 48% fg 39.5% 3pt Defense and shooting splits gives ant the slight edge for me. But it’s close.
Yeah, as a wolves fan I have not forgotten about the Memphis problem. Just looking at their bench I was like “ohhhhh sht…” this is still a top 4 seed in the west.
Anthony Edwards is clearly a better defender, better rebounder, and clearly a better scorer both in terms of points and efficiency. I don't think it's really close. SGA is better today, but three years older.
Why does that guy love Ja so much? Ant is a better 3 point shooter, he’s stronger and he’s a better defender. His playmaking markedly improved this year. He’s way better than Ja at this point.

Man, I really hope Donovan Mitchell gets out the first round, because I'm seeing too much slander, yes I believe Antman is better currently, however, DMitch since entering the NBA has never missed the playoffs and has been by far the most consistent out of the bunch. Man, if he makes me look like an idiot...
I wasn't too high on Ant coming into this season. I called him overrated when people were putting him in convos with Booker, SGA, and Donovan early in the season. As of right now Ant is better than Book and Mitchell. SGA is still a tier above Ant. Ja and Ant is a lot closer than people make it seem, obviously there's some recency bias with that since Ja is injured. Also I think Ant and Tatum is closer than a lot of people think, Tatum is amazing but he was very fortunate to be drafted to a team that already had a solidified core. But that's a discussion for another day.
SGA is elite but he’s not a tier above any , they are in the same tier. I’m not knocking Shai for this but ant has led his team to the playoffs 3 years in a row and shai hasnt. Not to mention shai lives at the free throw line. Ant doesn’t get those same calls. I love both but I’m not putting shai in a tier above ant
@@JayShep-kx2oq SGA is going to be All NBA 1st team for the 2nd time in a row and he is top 3 in the MVP race, we have to stop knocking players for being put on tanking teams when they are young. After the 2020 season OKC was blatantly tanking to the point where SGA was being forced to sit out in order for them to tank. Last year they didn't have Chet and that Chet is there the Thunder were the 1st seed behind SGA's leadership. The Wolves didn't need to tank after they drafted Ant because they already had KAT and were looking to build around the two of them. Also I'm tired of this "lives at the free throw line" stuff. Guys like MJ, Wade, and Kobe had seasons with really high FT attempts but no one slighted them for that. If you don't like SGA getting calls then don't foul him.
Honestly ANT over ja isn’t that close when it comes to shooting and defense at the rim is close and ja is a much better play maker obviously but everything else is close or ANT is levels better
@@ezumb Watch SGA play he’s a master of pump fakes and counter moves that’s why he draws so many fouls Ant is more of a speed and power player he doesn’t get as many calls as he should I guess but nothing compared to guys like Zion, Jokic and Kuminga who attack the paint and get hacked with no calls more often than Ant

@@KxngAntTae this is Ant first time winning a playoff series. Ant was great vs the suns but Rudy was the best player and changed that series. Rudy shown that he was able to keep up with Kd on switches and shutdown the mid range for the suns. Let’s not at like Ja, Book or Mitchell are some bums
@@joshuamartinez2182 - Ant was great against Memphis 2 seasons ago, and against Denver last season in the playoffs. He just didnt have anybody else step up. This year, the whole team showed up for the first round
