In this lesson we'll discuss the construction and theory of operation of wound rotor induction motors as well as examine their mechanical and electrical properties while in operation. Additionally, we'll examine how rotor resistance influences the shape of the speed torque curve, mechanical power, inrush current and efficiency. (Part 2 of 2)

I wish these had been available to me when I was in school. Things always felt more intuitive and easy to absorb but it’s never too late. As an adult I definitely need to watch and rewatch the lessons multiple times and then still give myself a couple days before returning to really let things stick. That said I, I doubt I can convey how truly appreciative I am that Jim took the time to create these videos. Until the advent of social media most information was much harder to come by especially for topics that people made careers around. More often than not you would have to pay to get access to lectures series(school or online) and hope that it was presented in a way that “clicked” with you or at least emphasized the key points for you to mull over until it does. Books have and always will be great sources of information however they often lack sufficient visual representations or helpful examples of the concepts discussed and often times are usually tedious to plow through.

Funny because one of the reasons I started doing this is because I saw a lot of my students struggling with certain topics simply because the book was a "static" medium that didn't pull you along. I thought "why don't I do a couple video examples?" And here we are a number of years later! Glad you're making use of this content!
